I enjoy you words about bees, I'm almost 80 yrs. and enjoy bee keeping, l live on a farm in NC have for all my life and being some what retired I full time work with my bees and receive a blessing every day with them, your words are the same as mine about the bees, it's not about the honey ( but I love it) it most certainly about the bees and there purpose here, I love you for your kindness to our bees. GOD Bless. Bob S.
You have a beautiful soul. You have helped me renew my passion after a couple disappointing seasons. I started beekeeping in my 60's. Your enthusiasm is not lost on me. Cheers! Bill
VERY NICE, Kaylee! That was a great rescue and recovery. Bees are blessed to have you in their corner, watching their backs. I am enjoying watching all your posts!
With that weakened hive and such a large space in the log, they most likely would have had a difficult time keeping a living temperature this winter. Moving to the new yet smaller nuc they should have no problem at all keeping everybody warm and toasty. Thanks for taking us with you. Long live Jill's Hive!
Awesome video Jill you're a great beekeeper. I really enjoyed this videos and seeing for the first time what wax moth can do. Incredible damage wow. Thanks for your patience on catching that queen and relocating the colony. Hope all goes well. Thanks for the informative video .
Waxmoths and their larvae are actually pretty normal in large feral cavities. I see them often on the perimeter of very strong colonies. The larvae focus on the old nasty comb, and bees have no trouble dragging the resulting webs out. Reducing them shouldn't hurt unless they get robbed out. Glad to see you had a queen in there.
I want to say from a fourth year bee keeper your videos are amazing and shows everything i have been doing is the same you are amazing don't stop what you are doing
Love your heart! Nice to see humans that are kind to living creatures and care enough to help :D Once again, a very educational and interesting video :)
Beeeeeeautiful Kaylee! I love your heart and passion for the bees and I love that you don't give up. You fight to the end. I hope that end to this hives home is a solid new beginning for them 😁😍❤️🐝🌼!!
You did the right thing we as Beekeeper are to fight for are bees if you all wouldn’t have got them they would be dead by now I hope they make it through the winter for you all and as always have a great day and keep on keeping on.
I really like that you pointed out that it is important to know what kind of bee keeper you are or want to be. Yes couldn't agree more that a bee's purpose is to pollinate and to benefit our environment in so many ways. Also they are constantly being amazing little creatures which just captivate me. If you get honey that's just a bonus. Love that you love your bee's so much, it shows in your videos. Thanks much
You are such a lover of your bees! That you really care for them shows in how you treat them with such care and respect. I am sure they will do fine over the winter because they ave you caring for them! Bless you!
wow. Very nice ...you are very nice and kind person. I bought a bee family (bifamily in danish) few month ago. I am very excited and anxious to see will they service this winter or not...we do not have that kind of problems in Denmark. But to days ago I treated my bees against varroa mites. To day I saw there were a lot of died varroa Thank you for your videos...
You’re absolutely right! Now that I truly learn about the essence of both the role of the bees and the heavenly delicious honey they produced. I will help them and appreciated what they’re giving in return. I even educate and help others to learn and help the bees. Appreciate them more. Thank God for the bees, the delicious honey they produced and grateful people like you to share and educate us. Love and much love especially during this covid 19. Stay safe everyone!
As I’m in love with honey 🍯 I could say that is very importan to learn and know how to contribute in many liltle ways to help the bees to be safe...great job kaylee....♥️🌹👍
Hey sweet friend. I thought you wasn’t putting out videos and figured out I was on my husband’s account that’s why I haven’t been on your lives and such. lol phew. So glad to be seeing your sweet face again. I love how you bee keep. Your heart and soul is in them. LOVE IT!!!
Your comments at the end rang a bell with me. In all the time I had my bees I never made a fortune off them nor did I ever artificially feed them always keeping enough natural food for them.
well done. enjoyed it very much. touching. i have had people ask why i want to keep bees. my answer has always been for the good of all things, and if i get some honey, well thats a plus.
Great video again , and most likely the right decision .hopefully the 5 framer is bustin at the seams in the spring You could think of the Nuc as their winter home and during those long cold winter nights you could adapt the log to accommodate frames and put them back in it for the spring/summer and even have it setup to accept another brood/super on top . Then it would be a lot easier to observe their progress . Just a thought.
@@TheHoneystead I seen the next video, I am on a bing of bee videos and came across your page as like yourselves it the covid 19 lock down, I live on a half acre site in a bungalow with my wife we are both 60 and enjoying this type of life I still work but not for weeks, love the page as I said keep it going cheers Jimmy and Jean love from Ireland.
Very nice video and a good job! Very smart putting them into a Nuc, especially going into winter. I would like to suggest putting an entrance reducer in the Nuc, that will help a small colony to better defend themselves as well as helping the colony keep warm during the winter. Happy Beekeeping!
Ultimately if a hive doesn't survive it is natural selection. Stronger genetics of other hives will continue and keep bees stronger in the long term. It is part of nature. All we can do is provide some short term help to give them a boost along the way. It is always my hope our efforts pay off in the end.
I hate giving up on those little colonies too. It's tough this time of year though. I've put bubble pack around them to help keep them warm in the coldest months. lol Nice video - thanks!
Watching you with your bees is like seeing a poem...the peace and beauty of it all. This was probably one of the more interesting videos I've watched in a while. I know Green Dream Project was dealing with Africanized bees, it this...I loved.
I have never had an interest in the art of beekeeping until ur video depicting saving this hive…since that time I’ve been very intrigued w/ the progression of this particular hive and ur efforts to help it thrive…..and I’m learning a little about bees in the process! Still…bees sting! lol
Hi just joined the channel still new to it but seen you use wire to hold brood in, would of been better to use rubber bands they crew at them and brake them and push them out of the hive to the entrance. This might be a handy hit for you. and also how come you didn't get any brood from another colony to help them so then there would be no chance of moths ? And also have come you didnt push the bees to find queen quicker? A great youtube channel to watch is 628 dirt rooster learnt alot from this channel and he goes out and catches swarms and removes hives these video are a good watch hope this helped in some way :)
You should have kept the queen caged!!! They’re more likely to abscond on you now. Hopefully they’ll stay, but don’t be surprised if you come outside one day soon to an empty nuc.
No criticism here as a novice bee keeper, but i was wondering why you wear gloves? I would think you would want to know how aggreshive the bees are right off. Just my thought, love the vid.
Awesome footage! Kaylee I hope your bees transition ok from the log to to the nuc box. I’m no expert in bees yet, but I’m hoping to try my hand at beekeeping.
Kaylee keep a close eye on that new hive you might have brought your problem with the comb. But you know that. I would have robbed from other hives to build the population and not taken the chance of bringing the moths. Just my thoughts.

Great to see you found the queen there and that the colony is viable. good shout to move to a NUC. Great video

Agreed, but this was a little too much for them to handle and starting to affect their brood comb.
Love all your videos... might be a funny thing to notice, but your selection of music is flawless. This makes your videos even better. Thank you.
I'm so glad you were able to save those bees 🐝. Enjoyed your video!!

I might have been tempted to leave the queen in clip at least overnight, as the workers would be able to feed her nicely. Well done.

NO, you do not fight with them; rather you fight FOR them and the best they can be! Good luck and prayers with you.

I was getting ready to send you this video! I need to do another update, but they are doing really well and I’ve split their colony!

My dear your bee videos are my favorite. I'm in my third year of keeping bees but it's a struggle in the desert of Utah.
Looking great! Found Waldo and took care of the moths!
I am not crying, your crying! WOW just WOW
