The rain began to fall, as if the sky were weeping over the fate of the abandoned manor, which now stood alone among bare trees, wrapped in the red and gold of autumn leaves. Once, this place was full of life-laughter echoed in every corner, and the warm light of candles flickered in the windows. Now, it was just an empty shell, a place soaked in memories that still echoed through the stone walls.
Once, a family lived here-wealthy, respected, and happy. The Mortenson family, known in the area for hosting grand balls and celebrations. The lady of the manor, Helena, always greeted every guest with a warm smile, and her husband, Alexander, was renowned for his kindness. But it was their only daughter, Liliana, who was the heart of this estate. Her bright eyes, full of dreams, seemed to light up even the gloomiest days.
But this autumn, the manor was different. The curtains in the windows were drawn, and the paths that once led guests to the open doors were overgrown with weeds and covered with leaves, as if time wanted to erase this place from memory. It was a place that had lost its heart-Liliana.
Several years ago, during one of those cold autumn nights, Liliana disappeared without a trace. Her parents searched for her day and night, combing every corner of the forest, calling for help from the farthest villages. But she never returned. No one ever found out what happened, and the darkness of that mystery devoured the house from within.
Helena and Alexander became mere shadows of themselves from day to day. The light in their eyes went out, along with their hope. The manor, once full of life, turned into a dead fortress, full of silence and sorrow. Alexander died a few years later, consumed by grief, and Helena, unable to bear the sight of this place, left, abandoning the estate to its fate.
Since then, the manor has stood empty. Rain beat against the stone steps, as if trying to wash away the pain that had seeped into this place. Autumn leaves swirled in the wind, dancing around like ghosts of the past, reminding those who remembered of the lost happiness.
It is said that sometimes, when the rain falls heavily, and dusk slowly approaches the estate, you can hear Lilianaโs soft voice-singing the same melody she used to hum while running through the garden as a child. But that is only a legend, whispered by the few villagers who still remember the days of the Mortensons' splendor.
However, for those brave enough to come closer, the manor hides its truth-painful memories that, like the rain, never stop falling.
Abandoned? Hell I'll take it! ๐
