I was excited at first, but this actually left me feeling sad. I mean the results are beautiful and amazing. But at the same time to realize that all it took were typed descriptions and a few minutes time.... it just feels empty. As you said there are artists out there that have created similar looking results that take days, weeks, years of practice, knowledge, studying then execution. Not to mention 'talent'.
I write something like this for many videos like this. As you mentioned. A.I. is a tool. It is inspiration. I believe in A.I. But I do not believe it will ever replace real Human Artists. Ever. Here is why. A.I. even if it becomes conscience, in some way. There is only so much code about anything that can be written. Is Dall-E, MidJourney and any other A.I. Art generators great? Yes. But... They all have a certain kind of style of visual stimulation. There is no replacement for Humans. No matter what. I think we are Hundreds of years from something like that at best imo. I am obsessed with A.I. But I also know it is Human Code and that can be coded only so far. It's not real. However, it can be a great and quick inspiration to real Human artists. And this is where the real issue might be. Over saturation of digital art. More so than ever before. We have of a way to make sure this kind of artwork does not get over saturated. Ok, thats it before I start to ramble on lol.
I had a twinge of worry for a second but this video put me at ease and that we can use the AI content as inspiration and a tool for our creative works, looking forward to tackling the challenge for this month
Yes, that was my intention too. I see a lot of people scared of it, but we need to use it to make us better, it's just another tool, like having more stock images and something extra!
Prompt engineering is its own art. Both in txt2txt and txt2img AI, a layman will get bored from continued bad results but learning prompt engineering to get the art or outputs you want is a real skill. Trash in, trash out.
when I first saw the early versions of ai art generation, I turned to my bro and said this is about to end an industry and revolutionize the world. Consider that these are still the early versions of ai art generation. In just 5-10 years there will be no need for us artist to work..and especially no need for stock image websites. That is ending before our eyes right now actually...ai will do a faster, cheaper job with variations...And this is just the beginning...I believe film will start to get mastered eventually.. Like making a disney short for example by word prompts per scene. Also music will eventually be taken over...Yep..and as a music producer who has spent my whole life learning music production it sucks lol but it will definitely happen one day sooner than later..in 100 years things that we learned and had skills for today will be a lost art form because the majority of children would never see any reason to do it.
In a way I sort of agree with you as I could totally see that happening. Imagine back in the day when everyone made everything by hand and then someone invented a machine that did it for you and factories began to emerge. The job market changed fundamentally. Nowadays so many of those jobs just don’t exist anymore because it’s completely unproductive for a human to do it. So from the point of view of employers or businesses wanting to save money and time artists and creators could very potentially get pushed out of a job, especially if the AI just gets more and more advanced. On the other hand they might hit a wall and it’ll never get that much better than it is now, people will be sick to death of the destruction of the human work force and will support real artists and unique work. I think they will coexist along side each other but who uses who is what will change (ie corporations and marketing companies etc will just AI it and people wanting art will use humans). Secretly I hope it all fails and we just stay how em we’ve always been as I hate robots!! 🤫
@@Mr23Design Do you not realise that while you think, oh someone will still need to provide the prompts for the AI, the prompts are all recorded and are the next data set, the AI will just generate its own prompts based on datamining internet trends and so on. We will not be needed in any role other than consumers.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) can only help to project one's dream (as at 2022), but it is not an absolute tool for designers not to leverage on it. It gives us the ability to stay creative and avoid the lingo "creative block" as designers. It will give us more and more opportunities to harness our skills to the maximum. Thanks greatly for this video by the way.
I see that too, I am not selling anything made by A.I, i am just using it to generate more ideas that will help me to create even better artworks, that's it :)
A.I. Won't replace us, creators, for the moment. They are not yet pushed enough to be able to do exactly what is required for a commission . It can gets some great result, but as some already said in the comments a lot feel empty. I'm not scared yet of A.I. taking the advantage in digital art, maybe in a decade or two...or maybe less. We'll see. Now, time to create en entry for your contest 😎
Decade? Think months. Stable diffusion came out months after dalle and its already got updates planned to make it even better, ai tech is speeding up, artists have at most 2 years to master their own kind of style before they’re replaced by AI.
And i'm in holidays, so i will participate for sure to this contest, even if i don't like A.I. .... Thank you my friend for this contest and i hope a lot of artists will participate too ! I really like to see how people can be creative and finish with reeeaaal masterpieces, i'm speechless each time!! Have fun with your creations everybody !
Today I got followed by a "digital artist, graphic designer, 3D artist, video maker, cinematographer" the guy doesn't even use Paint to crop the 4-images canva he gets from Midjourney, and post those canvas daily, gets lots of positive feedbacks, I'm disgusted.. From one part I'd really enjoy to be part of one of your challenges, from another part, even if I'm no one on IG, the idea to give any visibility to AI-art even if it is using it in a more, let's say "glorious" way is just way too disturbing for me, at least for now.. I appreciate your work and how you stimulate your community with regular and interesting challenges, but I think I ethically can't. It will change nothing that I may skip this one but maybe some other have the same feeling about it that's why I'm sharing it. I'll be very pleased to take part to the next one if I have the occasion :)
This is just the beginnign, next is 3d videos, then entire movies based on text, I am sorry to say I do not feel the need to learn 3d anymore as AI has done this
Imagine that I stopped learning Blender after months and months of trying, because how hard I thought it is. And I am hard worker, I do not quit easily, so having this AI now will make people quit learning 3D, but those who really want to be good and creative, for sure they will learn, nomatter how many AI programs there will be, because it's something really different and unique when you create something from scratch.
First sorry for my bad english. I'm not afraid of AI right now, I still didn't have the results I wanted using Midjourney and Dall-E, yes some images are pretty good and great for inspiration, but overall I didn't like most of the results I had. But there is no doubt that this technology is amazing, and in three or four years will probably start to replace some jobs, but I don't think graphic design will be over any time soon.
I don't see AI replacing Photoshop, though I could see Adobe adding additional AI features to its products. One of the problems you'll have with going pure AI is that a client isn't going to be happy with your first effort, but they may like a specific part of the generated image. If you make that image the seed for a modification, it's going to change things the client likes at least somewhat, and you're going to be generating more and more new versions in an attempt to please them, all the while losing the bits they did like. You get to a point of diminishing returns. So, yes, I see it being used as a tool, like the butterfly wings you've provided for the challenge, as part of an overall piece that draws on many sources, but not the sole source of a completed project. That's not to say someone, especially companies (say publishing companies trying to save money) won't give it a go, but I see that as a passing fad. You only save money and time if you aren't overly fussy about the results. Also, artists become known for a certain look, like Dali in your example. As an artist for hire, you have to be able to present a consistent look that is uniquely your own. You'd end up spending so much time refining your queries that you might just have well done the design work yourself.
Yes, those are and it will be the limitations of the A. I. because every render is unique and it will be impossible to please a client like that. As I said, I see it like another tool, like adobe stock, neo stock, envato, etc. We still need Photoshop for creating a final artwork.
I wonder if there is going to be a mod where I can generate a video using frame by frame from a certain output. I would deffinitly be interested in the type of solution to take this new art and basically build a timelapse out of the high definition frames with almost exact replicants but somehow AI figures out what seconds after this photo would look like. Please let me know if you have any sources on such an extension as this would take my videography to the complete next level
I find the whole AI generation thing really interesting. I think it can be a useful resource and idea generator. I think it can even be used to generate stocks to work with. I don't think an artist serious about one's craft would rely on any of the AI generators to make everything and then claim it as one's own, original art. As well, there's just no way for an AI (at least so far) to do more than interpret words and create output. It takes many, multiple outputs to get a result somewhere close to what I see in my head. I also just do it to have fun and see what happens. I don't believe AI will replace Photoshop or human artists, unless human beings allow them to. No two human artists are alike and each can continue to learn, create, evolve and go back and do it all over again.
I have mixed feelings about AI generation and I am sure I am not alone on it as it's shaken up the design community quite a bit. The fact that literally anyone can pick it up and just generate high quality images and pretend they are some big time designer. It kind of de-values the title what a designer is in a way if that makes any sense? Especially when you spend few hours of researching/drafting & finalization only to get beat by an AI and non-creative in 2 mins . Especially when some designers already struggle with being confident in their work to begin with. I imagine this won't hold well for those who struggle with that. But to put things in example, coding is still around despite visual editors are available. Certain companies will have different ways of how they approach their projects, the more authentic you are, the better chances you have of being recognizable. However, the other side of me is thrilled to have another tool to help minimize my down time in production as a designer. Being able to generate a bulk of references/inspirations/textures to work off in my design process is massive. I have no satisfaction in having something be generated by text and say it's mine, I want to alter /combine several things to make something fresh. That's the whole point of designing...that and repetition lol So I think Photoshop is here to stay and so will original artwork, it just gives an option to break a barrier they were afraid to cross over or felt they could never be creative.
From what I've seen, the true artists really use this as a tool to improve their work. So that's how I intend to use it too. It scares me, true, but a lot of things where like that at the beginning, and humanity learn to live with them or use them in their own benefit.
Github, MS and Open AI are being sued for copilot, if you haven't seen copilot, it makes visual editing look like a joke, you say what you want and code just appears before your eyes. Copilot was trained on billions of lines of code from github users, many of whom are now understandably concerned that the theft of their work is now being used to replace them and monetize their stolen work.
bring the "art" to the masses :) - I think that is an next step from the Bob Ross painting courses for masses in the digital era - that didn't make everyone an painter as this will not make everyone a digital artist by any level....
AI won't replace photoshop, it'll just create a new category. Sure it may disrupt some ares of the art world as it gets better but most collectors buy the story behind they have to like the art but that isn't enough. An AI cannot replace a human story, it can compete with it but never replace it because it's not human. Look at the diamond industry. The only reason we value mined diamonds over manufactured diamonds is because of a very cleaver marketing campaign a few decades ago that convinced the masses that mined diamonds are more precious made ones. This is the way the art world will go
From my view, i think a lot of AI art lacks personal feel. Some results look amazing, but a lot of it feels kinda empty already. And i think it's kinda sad to see how some artists have embraced it. I get that it's much faster and you can quickly post some stuff on social media sites and get likes, but i feel the process of making a piece of art helps put more thoughts into the idea. I do think there's some useful aspects to AI art, like brainstorming and such, but i hope it doesn't gain too much ground as it can also make lot of art feel empty. Perhaps some art styles will be more affected than others, but it's still hard to tell how it'll go
Yeah, I saw that too and most of them want to take the full credit for them, they don't mention at all the A.I. As I said in the video, for me is just a tool to generate ideas, like any other one.
It's an aid not a replacement! Because there is always something which lacks your AI image generation, which can only be fixed by using other tools. And not everybody can afford it as well. In future, it will become more and more costly.
A.I is good But For Me Photoshop will be the choice in that time too because A.I makes Us Dumb :)) , AF Some Times Using A I is Fine but it can't replace an artist or there loving tools like ai, ps , ae, etc , and 3d softwares too
My first thot when discovering this was that it will have an inpact on the 2d art market but I do not see how it can replace ps in a meaningfull way. You can either reroll endleslly till you get something ok-ish or you can do it yourself
Human Perception will change. Like it always does. AI will eventually make more than 60% of all Jobs obsolete. I have no Idea how we will deal with it. I´m afraid of the future.
Hello Mr23 ! I think that A.I. "can create art", but it's A.I. creation ! Not a human creation. Human creations will always be above the A.I. creation because A.I doesn't have imagination and doesn't create art by itself. A.I. needs a human interaction to create whatever! People using A.I. to "create art" and put watermark on it and pretnd they did it by theirselves are not honest because they didin't create anything, just type some words in A.I. app and that's it !! Original creations will ever be a human thing because A.I. uses existent creations to "re-create" something!
I agree with you brother, but the thing is the majority of people cannot make a difference between A.I. art and human art, because they don't have enough art education and those people will be fooled all the time and they will buy it...
@@Mr23Design yes I think too.. And people or companies who need artworks for their commercial purpose will ever prefer pay an account to have A. I. creations instead of paying lil bit more to artists to have original creations... Because, sadly, money is the only thing everybody think about and it will be much more difficult for artists to sell their artworks.. And I think it will be very hard to spend hours on an edit and sell it to a company for few bucks..
Yup! I keep saying that too, it's a tool, the rest I'll do it myself anyway. I could never post something that I didn't create myself without saying that it was made by A.I. For me is no fun posting what the A.I. created, because it's like posting someone else's work.
Video killed the radio star, the gramophone should kill the live music, Sunys home taping was killing music, the smartphone made photographers obsolete and Blender 3D is a threat to the big animation studios. I think AI mak remove some digital artists when folk can create creative art and fantasies that is relevant to them, so I think this is good for creativity and art, but maybe not for those boring and rather expensive digital artists that even before AI had hard time live on their hobby; but AI will never replace an artist like Patrick Moya that is a part of his art and also do art live, and also exist within virtual worlds where you can explore his creativity. It is like he is more modern and inline wit time than digital artist are that is just stuck in front of a vacuum. Dearth to the digital artists.... oh, wait. Some class me as a digital artist, but I can do something AI can not do, cartoons that are funny and relevant, political satire, memes, have a style, do details that is constant and detailed, and be larger than 1024x1024.
i think thats true.. but should ai user should called their self artist? i dont think they are artist. .they just came and type random thing and called their self artist its not good.. i dont like ai at all
But still, an artist won't be special anymore... Because no matter how many hours and hard work he has sacrificed on a project the AI user can just create the same or even better....
I don' think that, you can fool some people, but in a long term, an artist will remain an artist and can't be replaced by an AI. the AI is just a tool like envato stock images...we use them to become better, that's how I think.
Simple, there´s no AI in the universe that could replicate a freaking client request!!! If you are freaking out, you are not a designer, and If you are you know what I mean... I took me two months to do a logo of two letters. "move this, move that, use a darker yellow, add another flower but pink" There´s no way In hell an AI can do that, not today, not tomorrow, not EVER. First they need to invent how to understand clients. then we could talk.
Since I made this video I found out so much about AI and I am totally against the way it is used right now, ripping off the artists. I totally agree with you, hopefully it will be regulated in the near future.

The only reason we value mined diamonds over manufactured diamonds is because of a very cleaver marketing campaign a few decades ago that convinced the masses that mined diamonds are more precious made ones. This is the way the art world will go
Wow, really nice said! And also very true!
Its not gonna take artists job yet, it is not there yet.
That's how I think too! It will take a long time until will take our jobs :)
It's an aid not a replacement! Because there is always something which lacks your AI image generation, which can only be fixed by using other tools. And not everybody can afford it as well. In future, it will become more and more costly.
NEVER R.I.P PHOTOSHOP NEVER!!
💪
I like your video very much because they are too much creative 😄😄
Thanks a lot! I really spent one entire weekend to create this video :)))
True!
Human Perception will change. Like it always does.
AI will eventually make more than 60% of all Jobs obsolete.
I have no Idea how we will deal with it.
I´m afraid of the future.
It's a groundbreaking moment anyway, I am not afraid, I am trying to learn from what happens and use it to become better in what I'm doing.
@@Mr23Design Of course it is. I´m more afraid of the sociological consequences.
We're screwed
LOL. Let's hope not brother! :)))
I dislike very much the output of the AI generated images..... :)
I know!! :)))
Skynet is upon us!!!! - RUN!!! :)
Run, Forest, run!!!
And I think it will be very hard to spend hours on an edit and sell it to a company for few bucks..
it's incredible what the AI can do, but unfortunately the results are very bad at eyes, body, cars, and some others. That's why it's beta.
I said it many times, I think we aren't testing the A.I., the A.I. is testing us! There are huge differences since the first versions.
@@Mr23Design yeah I hope they can improve it more, some results are really impressive! Im loving it!
I saw pixinperfects yt video on it and I see it more as a tool. Ai is good but it will never be able to create what you have in your imagination.
I just loved your comment! Really nice said! Good luck with everything you create Kenny!
i think thats true.. but should ai user should called their self artist? i dont think they are artist. .they just came and type random thing and called their self artist its not good.. i dont like ai at all
It's like you pay me to do a job for you and then you call yourself an artist, right? It's the same thing, I think.
@@Mr23Design i absolutely agree my friends !!
But still, an artist won't be special anymore... Because no matter how many hours and hard work he has sacrificed on a project the AI user can just create the same or even better....
@@mohammadmohib900 so u r supporting ai or what?
I don' think that, you can fool some people, but in a long term, an artist will remain an artist and can't be replaced by an AI. the AI is just a tool like envato stock images...we use them to become better, that's how I think.
Jim Carrey is cool comedy acter
sad
Simple, there´s no AI in the universe that could replicate a freaking client request!!!
If you are freaking out, you are not a designer, and If you are you know what I mean...
I took me two months to do a logo of two letters. "move this, move that, use a darker yellow, add another flower but pink"
There´s no way In hell an AI can do that, not today, not tomorrow, not EVER.
First they need to invent how to understand clients. then we could talk.
Since I made this video I found out so much about AI and I am totally against the way it is used right now, ripping off the artists. I totally agree with you, hopefully it will be regulated in the near future.
