Great video, thanks for the update. Disappointing that construction is still so far behind. It really should have been finished by now, including all future planned extensions. IMO construction should have started at University of Hawaii and Waikiki Beach, and then worked its way towards the Airport. That's where the demand is. Probably would have made more sense for cut & cover vs. above ground guide ways, in some areas at least. Above ground views are amazing, however, the sun & warm temperatures will cause early damage. Learn from Vancouver BC Canada and their Sky Train and Canada Line projects.
I think the main reason they started out west side was because it would've been too expensive to find the land for a railyard in town, although it certainly would have recieved more usage if it had been started in town and opened in phases
@@rstiver1 In 2004, I began a Honolulu Advertiser comment board discussion titled "The Train to Paradise" that set the record for most commentary discussion. This latest HART extension looks admirably low impact. Where HART to me needs help is bus vehicles and connecting routes. The 1970's paratransit lift vans should be replaced and their routes rearranged. Look to Denver's 16th Street shuttle (1983-2013) modest (built in Colorado) plug-in hybrid buses to fill this universal need.
As a regular visitor to Hawaii, I was delighted to finally ride the train in November. I can hardly wait for the expansions. I was delighted to see one of my favorite eateries "Bob's Barbecue" in this video.

@@dalankam4429that’s what they said in one of the zoom calls I was on last year. It was about the maintenance facility location.
I think the future portions should be broken into smaller segments. Maybe that will open more sections sooner than later.
Very very good video!!!!😊
You beat me to it! Excellent! Ganbare, HART! All success....
