    Best setting for Log: Video codec h264/h265 8/10 bit, color space: rec709(8bit)rec2020(10bit), Transfer function: cineon log, Don't touch chroma denoise and all the sliders, maximum bitrate 100Mbps. This will give you best LOG video with flat washed out color.

    Something that no one has done so far has been a dedicated video for colour grading motion cam raw or direct log footage within da Vinci resolve. So i had to find videos that show how to work with cinemadng files from a dlsr. It would be alot easier for beginners to just find a good workflow for motioncam

    I have a Galaxy A20S on a Snapdragon 450, and to my surprise it can even write 2K 30fps, and under some other conditions 4K 24fps. Especially considering the fact that the hardware of this smartphone. And yes I also have an LG G8.

      Hey man. All the talking head with the mic is shit with my Sony mirrorless. Since I got motioncam it's been permanently mounted as my 'webcam' 😂 the motioncam footage in this video starts from 3:54.

    In 5 or 10 years we know phone cam will be even better so better results with motioncam, the quality will keep getting better with the app since cams in phone will keep upgrading

      I'm honestly thoroughly impressed with what we're already getting now. Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine we would get to this point. Motioncam is changing the rules of the game

      @@AndroMatthew As I said, you already know motioncam results will keep getting better since phone cams will keep upgrading.
      Since motion has been out, newer phones have come out that show a difference from an earlier series model. S25 is coming that will be sharper and clearer than S24,S24 is sharper and clearer than S22 and S20,The model I have s20fe is less sharper and less clear than S22-24. Just imagine how much more detail the S40-50 will have using a monster program like Motioncam. I'm glad to witness history.

      @@AndroMatthew The sad thing is I wish this program could've been made years ago. All the people who took video years ago could've had way better quality. A lot of people have deleted their original footage or it was lost.
      I know RUclips compresses video, alot of people have deleted their original footage or it was lost,I know RUclips compresses video but still those videos could've still had better quality.
      People now who still use phones to record don't know if this program exists. I just found out about this program 2 days ago while looking for a better program to take video better than Open Cam, I just found out of this program 2 days ago

      I get how you feel. But to be fair, motioncam has improved a lot since its founding. Initially it was very "complicated" and the only reason I found it is because I was looking into switching to an iPhone for video. Then BAM, I bumped into a Motioncam (which I thought was clickbait). Straight up pre-ordered the s22 ultra. 😂

    Is MotionCam's Direct Log different from using a log profile on mcpro24fps? Im considering buying MotionCam to try out more of the RAW features, but I'm interested this direct log feature

    • @AndroMatthew
      @AndroMatthew  3 месяца назад +3

      It's very different in a sense that Motioncam log is based on RAW data. Mcpro24fps's log is just forced curves, the final output doesn't give you any more dynamic range.

      @@AndroMatthewFake log on top of the auto tone curve. When you lift up the shadows in Mcpro24fps footage, you see very horrible macro blocking.

    • @thatchinaboi1
      @thatchinaboi1 3 месяца назад

      Increasing the data rates doesn't improve the situation. It only wastes your phones energy and battery, while giving you larger files sizes with no benefit in quality.

    Thank you for this video, what is Keyframe Interval?

    • @AndroMatthew
      @AndroMatthew  4 месяца назад +1

      An oversimplification - but in theory, it affects the accuracy during playback/pause. Meaning, in theory, the lower the better. But it could increase file size. It has very minimal or any at all impact on image quality itself. I suggest putting in lowest if you have storage and planning to edit the video.

    Is there any app on android that can grade this log footage? Video through your above beginners settings looks kinda muted.... 🙂

    • @AndroMatthew
      @AndroMatthew  Месяц назад +1

      Log footage looks mute to be fair, but there is a feature within the app to directly record with a LUT. Or record in RAW and export your footage with a LUT.

    hey man, nice video. but how do you get ride of noises ? I have a pixel 7 pro on demo version and everything I shoot on DirectLog 10 bit is sooo noisy

    • @AndroMatthew
      @AndroMatthew  2 месяца назад

      Hey man. Use chroma denoising. Also, expose with ETTR. Finally, RAW stream tends to be more noiser because the ISP doesn't clean up the details. Consider noise reduction on your pc if you have one.

  • @thatchinaboi1

    Wow, the footage looks very good for only 100MBps at 4K. Better than anything Mcpro24fps can produce even with higher data rates.

    Question for directlog, If i am using prores and set to MCRAWLOG should i be converting it to Rec 709 or can i just apply LUTS after importing it to PremPro? People keep saying generally to convert to rec 709 prior to colour grading. Thanks.

    • @AndroMatthew
      @AndroMatthew  4 месяца назад

      Premiere Pro should be converting it to rec709 by default, but it's a good practice to check.
      If you're planning to export the final video in rec709, then grading in rec709 is the way to go. For example, I graded in rec2020 once and when I exported to rec709 everything looked overexposed.

    • @jungleboy1
      @jungleboy1 4 месяца назад

      @@AndroMatthew i might need more guidance its been 8 years since i last used premiere pro. When i import the footage it feels like its in some log format already and not rec 709 converted, everything is desaturated. I apply a LUT and it just looks massively out of place as if its oversaturated....
      I may need to reshoot and change settings, i had it default to 75mbps max bit rate. I will try 160mbps as thats the max reported on my S23 Ultra.

    • @thatchinaboi1
      @thatchinaboi1 3 месяца назад

      I think it is easier just to shoot in RAW and do the transcoding and edit on my computer. Less taxing on the processor of smartphone, but more taxing on the storage.
