Twins System Recap: Bats Support David Festa in MLB Debut; Matt Wallner and Yunior Severino Stay Hot

- The Minnesota Twins lineup gifted David Festa a six-run top of the second inning to take some of the edge off in his MLB debut. Byron Buxton hit the longest Twins homer of the year in a big win over Arizona. Down on the farm, both Matt Wallner and Yunior Severino continued their insanely hot Junes, Zebby Matthews turned in another strong start and Gabriel Gonzalez had a multi-hit game in his return to the Kernels.

Lee up Farmer DFA seems nice right now
Something funny I noticed was that Correa reached base in 4 different ways in one game: hit, walk, hbp, and catcher's interference. Feel like that doesn't happen very often, although I'm sure hit, walk, and fielder's choice is a semi-common combo of 3.

Margot should be on the hot seat after he gave up on a routine fly ball on the third out and cost Festa 3 additional earned runs.
Margot is swinging it better as of late. Get rid of Farmer. Guy cant hit a beach ball. His first at bat was pathetic. Even Corey Provis said hes gonna try to get him to chase and he swung wildly at a pitch WAY in the dirt. Hes hitting like .189. Bye!
That ball should have been caught even Provis said so twice in the broadcast!
@@zackaryhaselius2226 I hope we have a solid plan for Brooks Lee. Platooning him at shortstop with Correa next season feels like a stopgap.

My Festa takes: his stuff plays; his fb is really straight; his command will determine how successful his career is, but he’s got a high ceiling. 😀

Festa had a okay debut hope it's better in the next start he probably has to be elite going forward otherwise he's lively going back down once paddack is back which might of happened regardless

Wonder how long before wallner gets another chance ? Feel like he deserves it but until twins get rid of farmer Noone else they will move off of barring injury he may be stuck in st Paul.
He'd be an upgrade over Martin or Margot IMO
@@birusan2262 ....Martin is what I call a gamer with a lot of potential. He's presently hitting about 270. which is well above league average, and considering the fact that he didn't get a hit until his 19th at bat. Since then he's hitting well over 300. What impressed me the most is although he was first just hitting balls right at someone, but it seemed like every time he swung he made contact and did not strike out until his 14th at bat. They really need to get rid of Farmer and bring Wallner up, and when Lewis is ready they need to get rid of Margot. Martin not only can play infield but can play a decent center field when needed.

It might take another injury or maybe even two. But this is the longest stretch of health and production we’ve seen from Dobnak in a while. I could see him back up at some point.
