Mama Bear & Little Bear y'all rock!! Your positive attitudes are refreshing to watch. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤ God bless and Happy Blazing!
Another awesome day on trail! 🥾 little bear is so cute! and you can just tell she loves what she is doing! I just loved when she found that snail. Too cute! I hope you have a safe night! God Bless you both and walk with your every step! Hike On! 🥾😊🏕️🧗♀️👍🙏
Love ❤️ the way you spoke on this video! Don’t let critics affect the way you hike or think. The choices you make on your hike is not only for you, but for those who hike with you! As a parent and a team leader I made that choice in 2014 on our hike during a day of pouring rain, temperature in the 40s, and very rocky terrain. I decided to stay put, take a zero, it was better than an injury or someone getting sick! This adventure is yours and little bears, make it safe and enjoyable! Trust your instincts 😊
Who cares what other people say. The small amount of criticism, ah well. Just know you have way more supporter than the critical comments! Plus you got the FATHER and LORD JESUS on your side!!! That’s all you need!! You both got this!!
You guys are like a well oiled machine. 💪 Watching you through your daily routines and just getting things done together is joyous to watch. I agree with your observations 💯 MB. You mentioned a while back about becoming grateful for false summits because you could take a breather if needed. 😊 We can't always change/control circumstances. But, we can change how we feel about it. We can change the connection. I was salivating over your salami, apple and mozzarella medley! Take care and keep up the great work. ✌️🌲⛺️🌲
You 2 are doing GREAT!! Little Bear is so fun to watch, well spoken and seems so mature for her years. So glad Elli was not "forgotten"! You are so right even foggy days can be beautiful days. 😊
I’ll never understand negative or critical comments. I’m so amazed by the strength in character that you show and the faithful spirituality that obviously propels you both forward. You’re an inspirational duo for sure. Thank you, for all that you do to share your journey with us.✌️🙂❤️
I liked your comments about adapting to trail life and being very intentional about how you have started on the AT. I think that on any long-distance hike, it is important to ease into the miles and get acclimated to the bodily and mental strain. So I think you have been wise, and it's paying off. And also, I'm with you -- I love switchbacks.
Acclamation is truly a thing. By the time I reached the summit, I had learned to live with a minimal of stuff. I had sent home every unnecessary item. When I got home, I wanted to get rid of all of the “stuff” one accumulates during life. The kitchen was a main area. I told my husband we only needed a plate, cup, fork and pot. All the rest could head to Goodwill. 😂😂😂 Needless to say he wasn’t into the plan as he had been my support person from home. I’m glad you commented on the uncalled for comments. For those, just scroll on by. What a wonderful memory you and your daughter are making. Prayers for your safety and thank you for allowing us to shirttail your hike. Sookie 2016
Thanks for being here! We’re so happy to share our journey with you. 😊 Congrats on your thru hike! I can totally see wanting to bring the simplicity of the trail back home. It’s refreshing!
Love Y'alls videos and the HYOH was handled incredibly well. I started slower then Y'all and watched many stronger hikers then myself come off after the Smokies due to injuries. The winner of the Katahdin Marathon is he who comes in last, IMHO. I favor the blue blaze, views, Peak Finder smiles over Miles. That is my Hiking my own Hike. This from the guy who is zeroing Damascus today hanging out at the Library and biking around. Much Respect for you Both. Lil Bear outro was awesome. Congratulations Mom 👍😀 Love and Like
Little bear looks like she has so much fun and truly enjoys the trail. I wish my kids were interested in the trail like her. Keep trekking, and don't forget to smell the flower. (When they start coming up)
Totally agree that the negative comments make me wonder if those people have ever carried a pack on a hike. And yes, I was in the class of 2019 but got injured and could not finish. You are doing great and giving Little Bear a life experience that will make her a strong young lady who will appreciate the effort it takes to accomplish something worthwhile. Love smiles before miles! Hike on Bears.
I love how you're keeping it real/transparent. I hate how people hide behind a keyboard and judge. I've never done anything more than a day hike and I'm getting the bug to section hike the Georgia portion of the AT. Thanks for the inspiration and keeping it real.
People are very brave behind a keyboard. It’s quite funny. Not just with the rude comments, but sometimes the advice given is much different than if they were out here. It’s all good. It’s a part of this online environment. 😊
Another awesome video! When Lil Bear said easy, your face said it all😊 You both (especially Lil Bear) are learning so much... education you can never get in a building. This will greatly benefit Lil Bear the rest of her life; Confidence, survival skills, communication skills, the ability to do anything she sets her mind too, and much, much more. Great job mom! May God continue to walk with you, and the Lord Jesus continue to carry you in His arms on tough days!
Amen! Amen! And thank you! I agree! This hike and many other things she has already accomplished in her life are shaping her into a resilient, capable, strong young woman. Introducing these things into our children’s lives along the way have been very intentional by my husband and I.
I agree completely! ❤❤ Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see your next video! Btw, the trees with orange leaves are Beech trees, one of my favorite trees for how they make woods and forests look even prettier than they already are 😊
Y’all have the best attitude! I think focusing on the positive things and looking for little moments you can enjoy in the midst of difficulty is the key to getting through pretty much anything in life. Keeping a positive mindset and pushing through always makes you stronger. I said it once in another comment and I’ll say it again, what Little Bear is learning during this time can’t be found in any school curriculum. This “field trip” will teach her things she will use far more in life than any math formula or punctuation mark. High character gained from this time will take her more places. Good job Momma Bear!! Prayers and much love to y’all from Texas!! ❤
Thank you! Yes, mindset is just about everything. She is learning so much every single day we’re out here. I’m so thankful she will have all of these tools in her toolbox as an adult.
One year, at Easter, when I was section hiking and passed the Wayah Bald tower, someone had left trail magic in the form of candy in plastic easter eggs along the trail. Good to see you two are enjoying the journey.
Don't worry about the negative comments, they are part of life, everyone has their own opinions. Keep focused and you will be fine! Thanks for sharing with us!
I really appreciate how you explained the "acclimating" aspect of the hike . It's really difficult to imagine how I would acclimate to some aspects but it sure does look like a GRAND ADVENTURE! The views from the tower were really beautiful despite the clouds. I hope the weather was not too difficult for you. I could hear the wind there at the closing comments and it sounded blustery for sure! prayers up for your health and safety
Thank you for your kindness and understanding. I think some people forget these videos are initially for us and our family to have memories forever. We’re trying to balance that plus being considerate of all those sharing our journey with us. 😊 Thanks for your support! 💙
Another great video! The trail has so many life lessons (flexibility, perseverance, finding the positives, patience, etc). So glad you and Little Bear are hiking your own hike and ignoring the critics. Prayers for a continued safe journey. Stay safe and stay well.
My 19 year old daughter and I have recently decided that we are going to hike the AT in 2026. We do have some hiking experience with a max of seven day stretch so we are spending the next two years preparing and planning for the AT. I’ve watched many videos and am following a few 2024. For the information we are looking for, you are videoing and giving information that I really needed! Thank you both so much! We not only will follow your journey but plan to rewatch next year as we get closer to our start date! You’ve done an amazing job planning and are doing a great job on the trail! God bless you both and I will be praying for you
IMO, I think that you two are starting your hike perfectly! You are taking your time, letting your muscles and bones become used to the trail and thus, keeping your spirits up. I have warned quite a few thru hikers to slow down a little because they are going to hurt themselves. Injuries the first 3 weeks on the trail take more people off the trail than any other reason. You two are doing it as right as can be done. YOU GOT THIS! You have planned well, and it shows. Good luck. geek
Thanks so much! Yes, unfortunately, we’ve talked with a lot of people who are already experiencing injuries. It’s hard not to get excited and push yourself, so I get it!
Agree 100 percent on the acclimating comments. So sorry Siler Bald was clouded over for you. At least it saved you the .2 to the top Lol. Keep up the great teamwork!!
I'll never be able to hike the trail due to being paralyzed. The closest to it has been camping at Fontana Dam. I am enjoying watching yall doing this hike together. Im even talking to my husband about maybe trying part of it with our son.
I could not have said it better! You nailed it with the “embracing the suck” and “adapt and overcome”. Life is just simply different on trail and trying to make it the same would take away from the experience. Wow, we just missed y’all! My wife and I were at the Wayah fire tower on April 5th. 😏 Y’all are doing great! 👍🏼🙏🏼
I really enjoy and look forward to your videos. The both of you remind me of my middle daughter and her 8-year-old daughter. My daughter is also a therapist who owns and runs 2 private practice offices that has 7 therapist's and an RN. Im pretty proud. I totally agree with what you were saying about people critiquing your hike. Everyones different and has different ways to hike and different circumstances. Also I follow a handful of AT Hikers and theres a few that are having a hard time getting the rhythm of the trail. It makes you wonder if they thought at all about how everything changes when you get there. Ive never hiked that far, but I know its not a walk in the park and you need to be able to make big lifestyle changes out there. But I think you and Little Bear are doing terrific. You seem to know what to expect, you hike your own hike, you're prepared and always have good attitudes. Way to go girls! ✌️🫶
Thank you! I’m glad….seems others feel like I’m being judgmental and that’s not the case at all. Just trying to share observations and maybe help someone in the future. 😊
Keep trucking ladies! Y’all are an inspiration.. don’t worry about the couch critics just hike your hike. So enjoying watching y’all’s journey. Stay well!! 🥾🥾
I enjoyed the opening. The camera was stationary and you two were going about your business and getting ready to leave for the trail. I also appreciated your discussing the acclimation process of accepting and adjusting the rhythm of trail life. I remember Dixie referring to it as embracing the suck. I think you two have done a great job of acclimation. Happy trails!
Thanks so much! We talk about embracing the suck a lot and staying hard! Hahaha! Some days are easier than others, but all days on trail are special. 😊
Y’all are still crushing it. The next section around the jump off is one of my favorite sections of the trail. That combined with family and awesome food at the NOC will be some of your favorite days on the trail I’m sure. It was for me back in the day. Prayers for a continued safe and amazing journey. Love the videos
I’m loving your videos and look forward to them every day. I also love your relationship with Little Bear! Keep up the good work. This has inspired me to start hiking when the weather warms up!
That’s awesome! We love to hear our videos are inspiring people. Being outside in general, and hiking, of course, is so good for our souls. Thanks for sharing our journey. 😊
Having “lashed” the first half of the AT, I can relate to your commentary and developing insights about the challenges and puzzles that are presented daily for you to solve. It just wouldn’t be an amazing adventure without them! You are absolutely brilliant for starting a little early and taking the time to get your plan and routine down! Looking to come back this summer for another 600 miles. Hope our paths cross. Keep the faith, ladies!
You guys are such a joy to watch. It’s so great that you get to do this with her it’s something special. Enjoy your family time and keep on towards Maine
Your vlog is real, and it is a real representation of you and little bears journey. You two are doing your own hike, which is perfect! Naysayers and trolls are everywhere, and they have a mouth! Continue on your journey, and enjoy every bit of what God created. You two are seeing and doing what most of us will never be able to achieve. You bears rock!
THANK YOU MOMMA BEAR FOR SHARING. I DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO COMMENT ON THE VIDEO THAT YOU DID ON GOOD FRIDAY, BUT THAT VIDEO REALLY MOVED ME. YOU AND LITTLE BEAR KEEP UP THE FIGHT!
Cheering you two onward! You are doing great! Don't take on any negative comments or energy...you be you! Loved the snail! Reminds me of my own hiking pace!
You should be careful sleeping in thunderstorms in your tent. Branches falling could easily end your trip in a bad way. They say you don’t have to worry about bears or wildlife on the Appalachian trail but to watch for widowmakers. Hikers call dead trees widowmakers. It’s OK to spend a second night in a hostel to avoid a storm.
Thanks! We’re careful. Safety first, but it’s not always possible to get off trail every time there’s a storm. We always, thunderstorm, winds, etc or not, look up for widow makers when we set up camp. When we know one is coming in (stay tuned!) and can avoid it, we absolutely do…especially when it’s coupled with cold.
Just gotta say I love Little Bear hiking in a tennis skort. I've never even thought about doing that! I have two I wear in the summer, not for play tennis, just because they're comfy and cool for yard work, biking or walking the dog. Looks like those are getting added to my hiking gear as well 😂. Thanks for the inspiration Little Bear! Happy trekking! 🥾
@@wildflowersadventures You should have your family send it to you in a resupply box, or bring it when they visit at some point up the trail. Love that Little Bear thinks outside the box. She's pretty amazing, takes after her mom. Happy trekking! 🥾
Congratulations on the miles accomplished! You're both doing really well. I really enjoy your videos. Happy hiking to you! Be careful stay safe and enjoy your Hike. 🚶 🏕 🍳 🔥 😊 🙏
I love you and your daughter’s hike. I feel that I would do exactly what you are doing by getting acclimated. This trail is calling to me ❤I must fit this into my life before it’s too late
Those yellow/orange leaves are beech trees. I love them in the winter. And I agree with what you’re saying. It takes about 30 days ON trial to get really acclimated to that life. Signage 07.
Ah, ok! Wow, they were popping that day. It was so beautiful to see them when we rounded the corner! Acclimating and being patient with yourself during this phase is so important. It allows you to evolve into trail life whilst still enjoying that part of the journey. It’s coming pretty naturally for us, but I think that’s also just a big part of our general character. 😊
I have hiked what you two have completed so far and I keep saying, wow! They are doing great! Lil Bear hasn’t complained once and you have pushed through some weather and miles. Keep it Up!! As I wrote before, Im 7 weeks out now from my knee replacement and miss my April dose of the southern AT. You have inspired me, I am going to the Shenandoah’s in two weeks to do some day hikes. Miles are miles. ❤
You have a very healthy attitude about adaptation to trail life. The physical rigors are one thing. The mental challenges that you accept and adapt to will work in your favor for the long term so you, and Little Bear can stand on the Mt. Katahdin sign in a few months. If I can offer one thing to what you have figured out that helped me, was to hike one day at a time. That keeps you from getting overwhelmed when the going gets rough. Onward North!!! Kanati AT08.
I'm from Florida, about 50 miles west of Gainesville fl. Town called Chiefland and we have alot of state parks and springs. Thank You for sharing The Trail and Nice views. God and a good attitude one can Go Far. 😊
Thanks! We appreciate you. 💙🙏🏼 I seem to only see a few here and there. I must miss quite a few. 😂 we have no time for negativity. Unless those people have successfully thru hiked this already or are out here, their words don’t mean a whole lot to us. It’s easy to talk behind a keyboard. 😂
Love your videos and look forward to them each day! I’m so sorry some people can be so negative in their comments to yall. Know that there are so many people watching that are rooting for yall and wishing nothing but the best for yall! Praying for a safe journey! ❤
Another enjoyable video from you two! The day looked ominous but the weather held out. Glad you both went up the tower and showed the beautiful vistas etc. interesting to hear the wind blowing outside your tent when you were saying your good nights to us. Little Bear!…you didn’t forget to let us see Miss Elle Kitty Cat! Glad to see her make her appearance. Love and light to you both and continue to shine to those around you! 🐱🧸🐻🥾⛰️👍
While you are on trail, you have to be flexible and make the decisions that are in your best interest, it's your hike ! Glad the fog cleared for views from the tower. Stay safe and keep pushing North !
I like your idea of slowly building up to more milage. Smart!
Thanks! Made sense to us. Feels like it’s paying off now. 😊
Mama Bear & Little Bear y'all rock!! Your positive attitudes are refreshing to watch. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤ God bless and Happy Blazing!
Thanks so much! God bless!
I love the Chipmunk voices 😆
And Hearing River Crossin 👍🏼
Go Mama Bear & Little Bear Go!

Thank you so much. I will alway put her safety and well being first. I appreciate your support. 💙🙏🏼
I love that you show so much when you stay places. I look forward to your posts because you add so much more than just the hiking trail.
Thank you! Trying to capture all the memories. One day, Little Bear and I will watch these videos fondly. 😊
You 2 are doing GREAT!! Little Bear is so fun to watch, well spoken and seems so mature for her years.

Good video, with lots of great beautiful views, so let's keep on hiking, time to start looking out for rattlesnakes and copperhead 😮

im really enjoying your hike and great videos , Its so refreshing in these times to have family films that are Christ centered
I absolutely love your journey. One day, God willing, I will take this journey myself. Journeys like yours inspire me to never stop dreaming ❤
We’re so glad to hear that! Get out there and do it! 😊
Don't worry about the negative comments, they are part of life, everyone has their own opinions. Keep focused and you will be fine! Thanks for sharing with us!

It is your hike ❤ and I for one enjoy and appreciate every second you care to share! Thank you to you and little Bear.

Haha! Had just watched Roadrunners PCT episode and then heard you say, “River crossin’”…love it!
Hahaha! Yes! We hiked with her for a few miles on the FHT back in December, so it brings us joy to remember her in our “river crossins.” 😂
I picked up on that as well!😂
My 19 year old daughter and I have recently decided that we are going to hike the AT in 2026. We do have some hiking experience with a max of seven day stretch so we are spending the next two years preparing and planning for the AT. I’ve watched many videos and am following a few 2024. I found your suggestions about acclimating very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you! Just an observation and our experience. 😊
Beautiful day guys! Wonderful job doing 11 miles. Bravo to taking a shower! You guys are awesome.
You both appear and sound more comfortable with the process. Great work!
Psalm 3:3 Shield, glory, lifter. Provider! 🙌🙏💪🥾
We’re settling in! Longest section hike we did precious to this was 7 days. It’s a different mindset knowing this is life for approximately 6 months.
Day 16 doing great! Keep going…….😊
Loving the videos thank you for bringing us along on your journey.
Agree 100 percent on the acclimating comments. So sorry Siler Bald was clouded over for you. At least it saved you the .2 to the top Lol. Keep up the great teamwork!!
Enjoying your video’s, great team🥰❤️❤️‼️‼️
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Another wonderful day and great videos. Keep it up, you’re so inspiring. Little bear is gaining confidence every day and that is great to see.
Thank you 🙏🏼
A great day girls, very proud of you all, you are doing great and lots of respect for you,God bless y'all and hope to see your Damascus video 😊
Orange leaves i believe are Beech tree saplings that don't loose their leaves until the new buds push them off in the spring.
Enjoy watching the videos. Such great role models for other families!
You two are doing amazing! This is your hike! Don’t listen to the yuck of others! Keep on keeping on!
You are doing a great job. Hike your hike. I enjoy the way your hiking and the speed your going. 👍👍

Fantastic wrap-up by LBear! Best part of the video is hearing LBear do the wrap-up!
😊
You both are doing great! Really enjoy your videos and the balance of trail & camp that you show us 😊
Loving the videos. Good to see you both still have a great attitude. You will be in Me. Before you know it. ❤
Thanks so much! We’re having a great time! 😊
Great job ladies! Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Good morning and a good day to both of you! Go Mama Bear and Little Bear! 🙂
Thank you! Good morning ☀️
Keep trucking ladies! Y’all are an inspiration.. don’t worry about the couch critics just hike your hike. So enjoying watching y’all’s journey. Stay well!! 🥾🥾
I think you guys are super crazy, and yet, I’m sooooo very envious. 😊
🎉 I can only imagine how excited you two are to be with your family soon. Isn’t it wonderful! Luck ❤️
We were bursting with excitement!! Love them all so very much! 🙏🏼💙
@@wildflowersadventures so we get to see the delayed version! That’s just not fair 🤣❤️❤️❤️now their 25 miles north of me 😆
😂😂😂

We’re having such a wonderful time!
Really enjoy seeing your journey. Looks amazing. You two are doing great!
Thanks so much! 🙏🏼
I enjoy your recap of the day 👍😊. Another great video you two are doing great .
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Loving your videos and look forward to them every day. You are such an amazing Mother. Mad respect 🥰
Thank you 🥹🙏🏼💙
Your vlog is real, and it is a real representation of you and little bears journey. You two are doing your own hike, which is perfect! Naysayers and trolls are everywhere, and they have a mouth! Continue on your journey, and enjoy every bit of what God created. You two are seeing and doing what most of us will never be able to achieve. You bears rock!
Thank you for your support! People talk a lot behind the keyboard, so we’re not bothered. 😊 We appreciate you and are glad you’re here! God bless! 🙏🏼💙
Love watching your videos. Thanks for the work to put them together. And I’m walking the AT with you in spirit. God is good!
Thanks so much! 😊🙏🏼
Great idea, right?! I’m regretting leaving mine at home. She convinced me as well, then I forgot it and took shorts. 😕
Thanks so much. We’re happy to share our journey with you. 🙏🏼💙
Keep trekking ladies! You got this and don’t let the negativity bother you, let it slide right off!
Love all episodes, just finished this one and love that negative people has no impact. You both look great and happy, what an adventure❤😊
Thank you! So glad you’re sharing our journey with us! Luckily we have thick skin and realize it’s easy to talk behind a keyboard. 😂
@@wildflowersadventures this is very true, enjoy your travels, looks so amazing!
Little bear is in Beast Mode. It does not even occur to her to take off her backpack climb the tower. Wow.
Facts!
I love you and your daughter’s hike. I feel that I would do exactly what you are doing by getting acclimated. This trail is calling to me ❤I must fit this into my life before it’s too late
Oh I sure hope you get to do this! If it’s calling, I hope you answer soon. 😊
The will work out. The family visit will give you the emotional boost you need to keep going. Taking days off will all balance out in the end
Very true! It’s all a balance out here. 😊
You guys have such a precious relationship. God bless.
Thank you. We really do and I’m so thankful for our relationship. God bless. 🙏🏼💙
The careful planning and thoughtful approach to your hike will serve both of you well !!! Keep up the great hiking, and videos.
I enjoy your recap at the end of the day.
Thank you so much! A lot of the times, it’s helpful for us to process the day. 😊
Praying you have a good night's rest and continue walking joyfully with Jesus! 🙏
Amen! Thank you! He always provides! 🙏🏼💙
@@wildflowersadventures Amen! ❤️
Don't listen to the haters. Yall got this!
Our state has the most beautiful springs for sure!
God and a good attitude/strong mindset are the keys for us. 😊
Yall are awsome flowers
😊 thanks! 🙏🏼
Love seeing the flowers popping up here and there. Little kisses along the trail. Great 11 mile day ladies!
It’s so beautiful to see spring springing!
Enjoying watching the progress along the journey!
I’m amazed at the people who have a bunch of negativity to share!! Urghh. Just ignore and enjoy!!!
I must be missing all those comments! 😂 That’s ok though. No time or energy for them anyway.
@@wildflowersadventures Not sure but I 'think' you can delete the rot? I don't know but I hope so
There’s only a few that seem to be inappropriate. I’ve reported those comments. The rest are just very opinionated, which don’t bother me a bit. 😂
You both are such a joy to watch. You’re doing a great job! Stay safe & happy trails! ❤️🥾
Thank you! 🙏🏼 💙
Good day of hiking and good advice for future hikers. I’m sure your family is very excited to see you. Soon!
Love you girls❤ keep keeping on. Focus on the good and skip the negative comments. You are doing something amazing!!!
Thanks! We appreciate you. 💙🙏🏼
I seem to only see a few here and there.
Thank you! People get brave and mean behind the safety of a keyboard. We appreciate everyone’s support!
I also love hiking in the fog. It's a magical feeling. Great views at Wayah Tower. Loved Little Bear's highlight = shower. 😂
Baby bear is so mature for an eleven year old.
It was a great day! 😊
👍😊
While you are on trail, you have to be flexible and make the decisions that are in your best interest, it's your hike ! Glad the fog cleared for views from the tower. Stay safe and keep pushing North !
Absolutely true!
