This is the roughest of the whole soundtrack. I was able to find a bootleg of it, but the quality and editing weren't great. I used that, part of the original audio from the Director's Cut, and the album version, which is just an abridged version of what was originally cut. Did my best.

I love the ending for the play and I love the director’s cut, but I also do love that the movie gave Audrey a happy ending. They’re both great and I’m glad I can watch both endings
I agree with you! I like both endings, but mostly the happy ending one.
No kidding, this is my favorite song on the entire soundtrack. I will never forget the first time I saw the original ending.
When that old man and woman are laying in the bed watching that news report and then they get attacked, that sent chills down my spine the first time I saw it. It's a shame the original ending didn't make it.
Its because Audrey and Seymour died onscreen
The song might of made in with Audrey 2 dying and Seymour and Audrey 1 getting married.
If the they say that they died in a car crash during winter and that a another Audrey 2 was on earth and ate people until it was made into smaller buds and then take over the world and then during don’t eat the plants the people who died appear as ghosts
That's a horrible nightmare and romantically dramatically amazing.
The giant Audrey II plants in this ending are more realistic than any cgi giant monster nowadays
You're damn right about that. They look more alive using puppetry versus CGI.
Moral: If your plant is a Mean Green Mother From Outer Space in disguise, don't feed it.

I hate that this version isn't on the CD. The CD doesn't have this same intro which is weird. I also hate that the CD doesn't have any of the reprises
This is why I created this ultimate version. I hate when soundtracks don’t reflect the actual soundtrack of the movie.

This doesn't quite apply here because of the musical form, but one of my pet hates with soundtrack presentations is when they add pieces of film dialogue on to the song tracks making it impossible to just enjoy a playlist of the songs. Tarantino soundtracks are frequently guilty for that.
It's good to hear this because it really highlights how overextended the Blu-ray presentation is of the mass destruction sequence. More effort should have been made to separate what would make an appropriate special feature on the disc with what accurately reflected Frank Oz's intended pacing as an epilogue.

Shame test audiences for hating this ending had it been in the theatrical release the plant rampage sequence would have become a huge part of pop culture

@@IhgGh-hg3xoas much as Oz wanted to retain the ending of the stage show for the movie he had to learn the hard way about the difference between killing off a character on stage and on screen
Not to mention that as soon as Seymour and Audrey die the movies tone changes drastically as all that’s left to see is the plant’s rise to power as its children go on to destroy the world and gobble up all of mankind

I find it a shame the beginning part isn't on the soundtrack. The entire song is one of my favorites from the movie/musical.
Why do I find the original ending so unsettling yet so appealing
in the stage show the song alludes to Audrey II’s eventual takeover of the earth starting with the audience and Audrey II is shown in its biggest form yet as the faces of its victims live on as flowers to warn the audience to not feed the plants
In the movie the true extent of the rampage is shown as gruesome imagery of giant plants destroying the world is shown which hits harder than the stage version
I like the hint of "Gimme Some Lovin'" the song incorporates into it. :)
