This is so valuable, especially about assessing whether the big expenses are worth it or you can DIY it without sacrificing quality. Frugality really can save a small business.
Hi, thanks for sharing all this valuable information. I want to ask for advice on how to book more events, such as how to market myself and gain more customers. I have been doing events for the past three years, but I feel stuck and am booking fewer events than before. Thank you!
Thank you so much for being here and watching! So I have a few thoughts on this: 1) 2024 was a tough year for most of us, so you are not alone! Every so often that happens and with ‘24 being an election year, and the economy not being as great, people just weren’t spending as much on ‘luxuries’ like flowers for events. 2) With that said, the way I buffer years like that are by having great relationships with event planners in my area. You can build those relationships by attending local networking events with fellow event vendors. 3) I have found that reaching out to venues that I’ve worked with in the past, sending them photos of our events with them and asking to be on their preferred vendor list, has been a great way to work more with local venues AND I’ve found that this has been way better for advertising my business in general than any other paid advertising has been (!). I’m thinking about doing more videos on this topic if you think it would be helpful? Wishing you all the best this year! 🌸
I had a friend create a website in the beginning of my business, but I’m not super savvy with web design things so it’s been a major learning curve to try to learn the back-end stuff as the site has grown. I would definitely recommend a Wix or Square Space type of web design in the beginning - it’s relatively easy to design on your own and doesn’t require all the back-end coding knowledge. It also costs much less than a custom website build-out. Hope this is helpful and thank you so much for watching!
@@gardenandgraceflorals Thanks for your help. It sounds like a big investment in the beginning so I am checking all of my options. I am learning so much. Thank you for your reply! Have a great weekend.
Hi and thanks for watching! I have taken courses (some in college and as continuing education), and also worked in a wedding florist’s shop throughout college. I have a video about my journey here that goes into more detail too: ruclips.net/video/feSGQVdH5vo/видео.htmlsi=PGSJ7pvkOkh0J5Gk Would love to know if you have any other feedback for future videos! I found that my hands-on apprenticeship work definitely gave me so much valuable experience (both in design and business) 🌸☺️

Did you have a website right away and who did you use for web hosting? I have been quoted from $800.-$ 2500. to start for an online business.

Where did you get your training from? Self-taught?
