So much ignorance in some of these comments. To all the people complaining about the gunner's aim, dude literally got direct hits on his targets with this first and third short bursts at 1:39 (The second burst took out a target too.) With a rapid-fire cannon from over 1000 ft (yds?) away while on a moving vehicle, at that. Three targets hit with three pulls of the trigger. What more could you possibly ask for?
When I see somebody not adjusting his aim then I don't have to be a gunner to recognize that. The splashes were consistently to the left. So the gunner should have compensated for it. Even if every new incidence might result in a different deviation, since the targets weren't on the move, why not use a short initial burst to see where they are straying towards and then fire longer bursts after compensation. It really doesn't require a lot of skill to adjust aim.

They should stick to rockets. The gunnery is totally a waste of ammo. The gunner should listen to the orders given him and not just use sights to make the same mistake time after time.
Bryan Kirk the missles are way more expensive than the chain gun rounds plus it doesn’t really matter because one of the main advantages of the US military is their massive budget so they have rounds to waist as long as the enemy is dead than it don’t matter
I get what you mean, but it's a 30mm autocannon firing HE rounds at 2000+ meters, no need for rifle accuracy. Anything fired in bursts at 2-4000m will jump around a lot, but when you're blanketing an area with essentially 1 inch grenades it really doesn't matter too much. Each of those rounds has a 5ft kill radius.
The sight is good but because of the distance, wind, and the trajectory that's why some of the rounds missed so that he could able to correct it and adjust it to hit the target
High explosive rounds from a chain gun are expected to spread for larger area impact. Also. Weapons are zeroed and boresighted with extreme accuracy. There are many variables that cause weapon systems to lose alignment.

Bennett Hazard that’s true, but like the B29 super fortress in the 40s was running computers to adjust for offset and speed for shots. So how is this super advanced gun where you look around to point it spraying expensive ass ammo all over the place? (Yeah wind and motion, I’m just shooting the shit)
It’s all done mathematically because the gun and sight both have to accommodate the altitude difference. The gun doesn’t point at the target. More often than not it’s pointed somewhat linear or upward to gain that extra distance. Very confusing mathematics but at the moment it’s what we got. Or. What we have used in war so far. The US military have so many new things that haven’t even been deployed. So they don’t risk going into enemy hands

D C shut the fuck off
Unintelligent keyboard warriors that know nothing
They were probably more like a mile away
When I see somebody not adjusting his aim then I don't have to be a gunner to recognize that.
The splashes were consistently to the left. So the gunner should have compensated for it.
Even if every new incidence might result in a different deviation, since the targets weren't on the move, why not use a short initial burst to see where they are straying towards and then fire longer bursts after compensation.
It really doesn't require a lot of skill to adjust aim.
They train for this DC. Like 30 rounds per hit? I say bad shooting...

I got one question who calibrated that site The site the bullets don't go with the rounds do not go where the site is I just noticed that
"How do you want to divide these up" , the correct reply should have been " Into very small pieces please"
I think the weapons techs need to re-sight the targeting. Most of the rounds were a bit high and to the left of intended targets.
Gunner wasnt smart. They tend to be off by the same amount. He could've corrected it better.
High explosive rounds from a chain gun are expected to spread for larger area impact. Also. Weapons are zeroed and boresighted with extreme accuracy. There are many variables that cause weapon systems to lose alignment.

They need a new armament mechanic to bore sight those guns.
David Kahler yeah a lot of them seem like they’re hooking high or left
But they're still hitting the target
David Kahler shooting from a moving helicopter with wind and other factors... I’d say it’s pretty accurate
I'm confused do they not hear the apache flying in the air? Or are they not concerned? I guess ik trying to say is how is this able to fly without being noticed? Aren't these loud?
