- Beyonce shared what inspired her to create her upcoming album “Cowboy Carter.” “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed,” she wrote. “The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me.” In 2016, she performed with The Chicks at the CMAs. Many country fans complained she had no business singing country. Eight years later, Beyonce became the first Black woman to nab the number-one spot on the Billboard Country Songs chart.
