    I can vouch that this is 100% true. I have the Phonak B90 R CROS, and that power pack too. No issues when I go through TSA lines either!

    I have hearing aids and what they usually do when I go through the metal detector though I don't go through the metal detector I get pat down because I do get very bad interference from the metal detector through my hearing aids

    I was wondering if it was still ok to get through TSA with a hearing aid. If it has changed in 3 years. Im going to travel for the first time with a hearing aid. Im precheck TSA so at least it should be a lot easier to get checked out.

    • @DrCliffAuD

      Still no need to take your hearing aids off in TSA security line or metal detector.

      @@DrCliffAuD thank you so much, I've been worried about getting through tsa. your videos were very helpful in my hearing lost process of getting my phonak life. you gave me the knowledge to ask my audiologist the correct questions. I lost my hearing totally in December of 2018 when I got the flu even though I had the flu shot in october. I didn't start getting my hearing back until late April 2019. my right ear came back almost 100% by October, but my left ear only came back 60%. my audiologist wanted to wait 6 months to see if my left ear would improve with some ear drops, and it did a little, but then covid hit and I was just able to see her again last month. now I'm hearing great again and my midday headaches caused by my right ear over working has gone away ever since I got my left ear hearing aid. I just want to say thankyou for all your knowledge and merry Christmas

    Am I allowed to have my batteries in my purse tho? I have the behind the ear hearing aid

    • @kerrijansson2919
      @kerrijansson2919 11 месяцев назад

      Yes. I carry extra batteries in my purse all the time, so I don't have any issue with them going through security. They're part of your assistive devices, so you're good to go.

    dont they have a list of ppl that a baha or a implant

    • @kerrijansson2919
      @kerrijansson2919 11 месяцев назад

      No, the TSA doesn't have such a list. You have to be your own advocate every time you fly. The security agents are not going to know that you're a hearing aid or cochlear implant user unless you notify them and ask them to communicate clearly with you. Most are very busy so they may not accommodate your request to communicate clearly with you, so observe others ahead of you. But if you're lucky, you may get a really nice TSA agent who will accommodate your request or even converse with you through sign language or written communication via phone. That happened to me once.

    Hi there my name is Umar and I have a cochlear implant nucleus 7 and my audiologists and teacher of the deaf warned me saying I should not go to Metal detectors because it can cause the implant chip to go funny and have to get them reprogrammed on the system and go through the procedure

    • @DrCliffAuD
      @DrCliffAuD  6 лет назад

      I have spoken with implant reps about this and they said there is no risk of malfunction by walking through the metal detector.

    • @DrCliffAuD

      Do NOT wear hearing aids for an MRI. The magnet needs to be removed from most Cochlear implants to do an MRI.
