Are you new to speedruns?, speedruns are divided into categories, the "by default" speedruns are everything goes, any glitch or trick that allows you to finish faster is allowed, "glichless", it's the same except the game is beaten as intended, you seem to prefear glitchless, both are valid, speedrunning is a collaboratory effort by a community to find new tricks or glitches to get the timer down in a given category, hell, if a trick is discovered that makes the run outright not fun, It can be banned for the sake of keeping the scene for a category alive and healthy.

Dude, you should spam the crouch + jump tech. You get speed boost in zone where you have lot of space to use it. Or just spam the slide. It could help you to get second, and help you for the final boss.
