I like the passion Calipari is teaching these guys, thats a real teacher of the game, regardless if they are his players or not, he's teaching w/ passion and love for the game.

From a pure basketball perspective, i know there’s a language barrier but these players are terrible if you’re getting coach cal for a clinic lets have competent guys for him to demonstrate with. He probably had soooo much more to teach.

Fundamentals are important in the game of basketball and the more we can continue to teach it and have players work on it the better

There is a bit of a language barrier between coach and the (I think Egyptian) players, anyways great presentation and drills

Cal has actually moved away from the dribble drive in the last few years, just because it didn't fit his teams' strengths. His latest obsession is "positionless basketball" with the players being as interchangeable as possible (everyone capable of playing at least three positions).

The language barrier in this clinic is almost unbearable. I bet coach Calipari had 5 times more, he wanted to get through, but the learning curve is sooo steep... When will FIBA learn to set these things up proper?

I would rather take an outside open shot than do a drive and take a contested shot. I cant deal with players who would rather drive and take the contested shot than take the open shot. A contested shot lowers the scoring percentage. When teams take bad shot over good shots. The opponent gets more odd man fast break opportunities. So when I see a player shooting 12- 24 in a game to me that tells me that player scored 24 points but also gave up 24 points because of there shot selection. Quality shots over quantity. Sure having the confidence to be aggressive is great. But players need to have a quick mental processor to know what to do IF x,y,z.

They do that on purpose; great players do not make mistakes, bad players do, so the coach is able to correct often, thus making his point better. Makes sense?
