I picked 12th in my one league (a 12 team league) and was somehow able to snag Makar at 12 and Jack at 13.

I pick 11th of 12 on Friday. Would love this. Last year got kucherov and makar 11 and 14
I got about a third of these players! Jack Hughes (2), Tage Thompson (5), Timo Meier (6), Alex DeBrincat (9), John Carlson (8)! Gives me confidence going into the season!

No reason to take Josi that early if there's no positions? Load up on C's that have low ADP from normal leagues.

My first year in fantasy hockey do we not draft goalies?
You do, typically two. Often best to roster 3, a tandem from a good team and one other goalie. Or getting lucky with late round guys. Don’t spend too much draft capital on one.

Are you not worried about Josi being 34 years old. It reminds me of Brett burns who was amazing and then with age one year he just took a deep dive
I feel like dahlin or Bouchard is better
Normally I would agree, but his situation got even better with the additions of Stamkos and Marchessault. There’s a chance that power play could be top 5 in the league and he will be Quarterbacking it. I think there’s a real possibility of 90-100+ points this season.
I think the talent now available to him offsets his natural age regression, his shot + block totals set him apart of Dahlin and Bouchard.
Is it worth it grabbing Lane Hutson and what round? Cats league btw (hits and blocks included)

Should be picked later than 13OA because of health imo but is a fantastic option assuming he stays healthy

In my ESPN draft I got Draisaitl in the first round, Makar in the 2nd round, then took Aho in the 5th round and traded him for Jack Hughes. Should be a good season!
In a 12 team h2h points league that has 6 D and 5 bench slots. I'm picking 9th overall. Do you think it's reasonable to draft makar and josi with my first 2 picks (9 and 16). I suspect everyone in my league will be scrambling later for D where I'll be able to find high value forwards. I'm also already keeping caufield and nichushkin from last season, at the cost of my 10th and 12th round picks.

Hockey pools and fantasy are won with the later round picks. Anybody and their grandmother can pick a top 50 player, it's a question of luck at this point (can your players stay healthy). You should give tips for the last rounds, the wildcards and hidden gems

I went heavy defense first and picked goalie in 6th round. 16 person league, goalies were flying off the picks in rounds 2 and 3.
Not great not the worst though, I’d keep Anderson for the first little while of the season definitely not a guy I would drop
@colinmcpherson3166 yeah I feel the same. I'm likely going to end up somewhere in the middle maybe slightly above average. I dropped askarov for silovs so I have 2 starting goalies at season start. I also grabbed landeskog for IR and pray he returns November
You have elite D for a 16 team league, especially if Ekblad can finally stay healthy and run that powerplay. I like the upside in some of your young fwds but maybe make a move for a goalie or elite fwd with your D depth?
