Absolutely love his idea about extending the clocks. I’m a newer driver, and new to the industry. Just switched careers at 40 years old, and proud to be a trucker now. I absolutely love it! Especially the freedom, but my biggest complaints from day one has been those clocks, and parking. One thing I learned real quick in this job, is that parking is damn hard to find. Especially if your like me and want to run your full drive clock. I want to make that money, but If you ain’t at the truck stop by 5:00pm, or the rest stop by I’d say about 8:00pm, your probably sleeping on an on ramp. My point being is that it forces you to have to shut down prior to the full 11hrs if for example you need a shower and really need to make a truck stop versus a rest stop or ramp. I know, I know, start earlier. Well normally I would agree, but we all know it does not always work out that way. If you’re 20 min from your drop, with an 8:00am appointment time, you’re definitely not starting your clock at 4:00am. Also, there have been times when I’m in the middle of nowhere (think country two lane roads) with nowhere to stop and the clock dangerously getting close to a violation. Then your rushing to find any town with somewhere to park, and the rushing makes things less safe. We need to have some grace for certain circumstances, not just boom violation. And don’t even get me started on that forced 30min break. We should be able to take three 10s or two 15s to satisfy the reset. I eat on the go, and even if I didn’t, I don’t need 30min.

It depends on it the semi goes 62 or 75. It u have a semi that goes 69 and it's automatic, there is no lag, but if it goes 62, too 65, it takes all day to get up to the speed ur truck goes. I just tirned 36 yrs OTR in the trucking industry
