The fixed term still applies I believe. I thought that people in Labour constituencies could sign a petition to recall their MP and trigger by-elections, but having checked it wouldn't be possible as they only apply under certain criteria. So no, I don't believe there is a legal way to get rid of him and his awful party.

Who employs the prime minister? Is it us? is it the king? Who is it? Surely you cant just have an untouchable Leader of any party in a position of power in such a despotic manner and have no way to replace them?
I looked up who employs him. He is appointed by the king. The last king to have a PM removed (EArl Grey) was William IV in 1834. The opposition did not have a viable replacement so the Whigs had Earl Grey reinstated and he pushed forward legislation the king did not aggree with. Later he resigned and the Torys still did not have a viable replacement . The moral of that story, I guess is, Other parties, keep up your membership and garner popularity by having an emergency manifesto ready and waiting incase this person is directed to resign by the king.

The PLP must be concerned about Starmer's activities since the election. He has not shown the slightest sign of optimism. He has shown disdain for the elderly and those that choose to smoke outdoors, within weeks of being elected. Nothing for anyone to look forward to. A normal PM would have given a sweetener at least, but no, the news gets worse day by day and nothing gets done about all the immigrants, which is what his voters expected him to do.
