Read any of the Ibooks of Sherlock Holmes and you find that there is not accepting scandal in Bohemia but that was even a different type of emotion and it's not like this so it's good
The reason why I am not only love reading the sherlock books. But also am addicted to the series. I have been loving sherlock ever since I read my first Holmes story. But have never liked watching the movies. For it never did justice to the Holmes and Watson ambiance and totally sitting by the fireplace with a good book ,while it is raining outside atmosphere that the tru Sherlock Holmes story,s seem to have. Until I saw Jeremy Brett in the role of the detective.I am truly thankful for the experience. I am Dutch and here in the Netherlands the series where never on TV. I am lucky that I can watch them online. So I have been watching all of them.still do. G
Got the complete SH stories at the library at age 12 and never looked back. Our tiny library had one aisle down the middle and books on either side. PLEASE support all libraries. Do not vote any person into any office who does not read. Bless all you fans! Love Granny
I love these because they coincide with the written works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle! Marvelous adaptations for this series. Fantastic Acting, Directing, and scenes. Bravo. So much better than the American Hollywood Movies that changed the years and storyline in Sherlock Holmes Mysteries.
I have to agree that these are the most faithful of all adaptations, right down to the dialogue. I've noticed in a few of them the only difference was a line spoken by Watson in the book was given to Mrs. Hudson for TV.
I 💕 all of them I watch them over and over..So well done and the horse's are magnificent never seen so many beautiful horse's..I'm use. To watching westerns. And of course Sherlock and Dr watson the best and all the other actors Great!!!
I recently got on to these, taking note as I watch them to keep track, as there appears to be so many, this my 21st and I must say my very favorite so far. Well done old boy! Thanks!
A single unwitting woman, in the right place at the right time, may have just saved the modern European world, and only she and two men will ever know. What a story, I had not read this one.
How I wish there were more programs of this quality being made today, without all the gore and filthy language used like adjectives to every noun. No wit, or little. Bravo Sherlock Holmes!
Of course, suspicion would have then fallen on the husband for concealing the letter for his own purposes. At the very least, that suspicion would have hindered or ended his career. ❓
she stole a document that could start a world war and she expects holmes to let her go???? and even worse she expects holmes not to tell her husband to not leave his papers near her again???
it is irksome to me that Holmes and Watson covered for a beautiful woman, in order to deceive her husband, to keep her marriage intact. It's never okay to deceive your mate. That was very selfish on her part. It's just a story, but it could be true all over the world.
While I agree with you in the main meaning of your comment, please consider this fact. That beautiful woman had not been responsible for the society's rules that would have ruined her marriage simply because as an adolescent she had written a passionate letter. Would you truly have seen her disgraced and ruined for such a trivial offense, when she'd had no role in creating that harsh world? That world was also responsible for making sure the woman was kept in the dark regarding the true import of the letter. Did not the husband also deceive his wife in that regard? I for one am glad to live in modern, not Victorian, times, when marriages can survive such "honesty"
Everything written has its use. Considering it came from a foreign mandatary, it is reasonable to think that the PM could've used it later as evidence or a levering tool. Many documents which could be considered extremely dangerous are never burnt or destroyed because of this reason
These Jeremy Brett performances are timeless. He continues to live for us yet. I am so grateful!
Through slight of hand and quick thinking a Lady's honor has been maintained.
Jeremy Brett. The quintessential Sherlock Holmes. Just superb. R.I.P Jeremy Brett. You are sorely missed.
Harry Andrews acting as PM is superb. The way he uses the english language with different tones.....masterful delivery!
This showed the human side of Holmes....I love this.....

I give it a 3 out of 10
The timing of that last cigarette and that wonderful victorious leap melting into the sketch with an appreciative Dr Watson. Super directing.
Jeremy Brett will always remain the best Sherlock Holmes 💕

@@phyllispetras2181 Well said, Granny. Thank you
Many have admirably portrayed Sherlock Holmes, but none has touched his heart, like Jeremy Brett. He was blessed by the circumpsyche.
What correct English and stellar acting from the one and only Jeremy Brett.!!!
He speaks in complete sentences! He is well read!! He is very GQ!
Thanks and blessings for posting this wonderful episode! 🙏👏👍👍
I listen to Jeremy Brett, Roger Rees and Alan Rickman and am happy! Glorious voices!
Thank you Hardboiled!

Sherlock Holmes is a boss!
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode (my 16th) - Thank you very much for posting
Amazing acting! All the way
Holmes is so cute
I knew he did that calibration leap in this episode!
Strangely, along with Silver Blaze, one of my favorite episodes.
Just like watching it on my old VCR!
great ep! thanks for uploading it!
Very cleaver plot, I never knew my name was writ large in the press or uttered from Holmes mouth.
@doctorwho0077 LOL!
Awesome! Old timey freeze frame!

I also liked the episode with Emma Thompson's sister, Sophie, who falls in love with Sherlock!
Patrick Gowers is in touch with his inner Elgar.
Three lovely Holmes-moments at once: 8:20 , 9:09 to 9:21 and, of course, 10:00 !!!
Jeremy Brett also played Freddy Eynsford-Hill in "My Fair Lady" but Bill Shirley dubbed his singing.
Really? Never knew that. Amazing.

Thanks bud!
Smat prime minister.. He knew the letter had not been there all along.
Clipity clop. They would have been lost without horses.
What a fine sound!
Does anyone know how I can get the full music played at the beginning of part 1? Would really appreciate. Thanks!
"the letter is intackt"..no it wasnt, lucas opens the letter when lady hilda give it to him,anyway..one of my favourite of "brett"holmes.
He means no pages are missing from the letter. Trelawney opened the envelope when he first received it.
Elmokaila, no one said the envelope was still sealed. Intact was also an older way of saying complete.
Nonsense - they must have opened it on receipt to know what it was in the first place. You are no Holmes!
Of course, suspicion would have then fallen on the husband for concealing the letter for his own purposes. At the very least, that suspicion would have hindered or ended his career. ❓

What I don't get is if the letter was that dangerous, why didn't they burn it as soon as they received it??
