He is a master hunter who always clears a path for us to fall into His trap. His trap is a love eternal that shines through us. When we listen He reveals his many secrets and grants His wisdom and ways. Love as fiercely as He persues us and wise will be thy ways and good shalt be thy fruits. Just remember to say thanks for the fertiliser. Love always Thomas xoxo
My grandmother taught me this prayer in gaelic in 1980. I still have it memorized and can recite it (wrongly-I'm sure) but have never heard it uttered by another person until now. Never thought I would hear it again- thank you. Lovely.
You have such a friendly, pretty, and stern demeanor, like someone from a long time ago, an old soul. Thanks for sharing this with the world. God bless
When we lived in California, my wife worked in a hospital where on of her patients recited the Rosary in gealic everyday. She was about 80, she learned it as a child. It was beautiful. My grandfather was a native gealic speaker from Magerlosc, cnty. Donegal.
I'll be reciting this at my Dad's funeral in a few days. My Irish used to be pretty good and I understand the prayer but it was nice to hear you say it. Thanks.
my Father taught me this one when I was a kid but I have been trouble remembering it properly. Go raibh maith agat. I will pray for him and my mother at their grave with this prayer. I'm sure they will be happy I am still using it.
Thank you Siobhán! I appreciate having the pronunciation written out with each line. I've only ever heard this rattled off at high speed, so your delivery line by line is much appreciated. It's very helpful. Perhaps you could put the syllable stress in all caps. (My ancestors came from West Cork, Galway and Mayo, and I never heard a word of Irish in our family, so this is beautiful to hear.)
I'm from Serbia and I feel so close to Ireland in my heart. I have no idea where this connection come from, but I just feel that way! I'm listening to your videos and I'm even more amazed. I hope one day I'll learn Irish Gaelic, or even better, come to live in Ireland. ❤
My grandmother could recite the Lord's Prayer in Irish, which is remarkable since she never lived in Ireland. Her parents left during the Famine, so she must have learned it from them. It is interesting to think of the generations of people passing on this tradition to their children. Thanks for helping me connect to a family tradition, Siobhan1
Thanks Siobhan, this is so helpful, so clear and just the right speed. I was taught this as a child in England by my Dad. I knew I had some bits wrong but could never hear it clear enough. As Dad was dying I was able to prompt him to recite it. Now I say it often so it's great to start getting it right. Sure Dad hears me!
I learned it in Latin in my distant past. It gets some sideway glances when recited in the liturgy . Thank you for providing this and other videos. I hope all of you have a safe and happy Christmas in the warmth of your families.
My family, Kissane is from Cork, and my husband and I would love to visit someday. I've heard it's no problem if you don't know Irish, but to me it still matters. Learning it is challenging and the spelling throws me off. I am Irish mixed and generations away from hearing it in the home. The phonics you give on your youtube channel is very helpful :)
The vast majority of people speak English Irish is only spoken a few small pockets in the country.. Unfortunately Irish is long gone as the first language..
Thank you so much Siobhan for bringing these prayers back in our old long lost language Irish! Could you also say the Apostles’ Creed and the “I confess to you almighty God...” from the Mass ... quite long prayers though.
My grandmother had "An Irish Blessing" hanging on her wall from my earliest memories. I have no idea whether it's actually an Irish blessing, but it's pretty either way and I'd love to hear it in Irish: May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Thank you so much for your videos. I am on day 60 of the Gaeilge course on Duolingo, and your videos and other supplemental resources are very helpful. I live in north Louisiana, and it is definitely not a part of the Gaeltacht! I would love to know someone with command of the language, because I am finding pronunciation to be the toughest part. However, I love the sound of the language, and I want to do my small part to keep it alive. I printed a copy of Ár nAthair today, and im using your video to go through it word by word. I'll keep going! Go raibh math agat arís!
Thank you, I was trying to find the pronunciation of 'father' [ athiar ] to toast my 81 year old dad [ 82 in April ] and your video kicked me off. I came back and just said "Awr nah-her" and the entire prayer came from his mouth. I will 'have the Irish' before we have to 'plant' him. Thank you sister __/|\__
Go raibh maith agat! I’d like to see a video done on how to say grace. “Bless us, oh Lord, and these your gifts which we are about to receive from your bounty. Through Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.”
Another one is the bedtime prayer: “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, but if I should die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take”
Could you translate Ireland's 32 Song Lyrics in Gaelic? This version is by The Irish Brigade from Tyrone. Written by Cyril Curren. This is the version that all the counties are included.
This may be late, but I just started the free course on bite size, I am Irish and live in the us, I’ve been in love with Irish Gaelic since I was a kid. I would love to hear romans 12:2 in Irish if you wouldn’t mind. It is my life verse and means so much to me, either that or Psalm 27:1-3. Thanks so much
Some of my ancestors are Irish, some of my ancestors are Scottish, some are Cherokee and some are Chickasaw..I heard Gaelic is the most ancient language of the Celtic druids
Indeed ! I copied-pasted the text and will go over it again. I have read the Táin Bó Cúailnge translated into French and never thought I would know a bit of Gaelic, but this is near coming true !
This reminds me of little I know about my great grandmother from Ireland. From my DNA I finally know she was from Connemara. Thank you for your videos that allow us to hear and learn the language. For me, it is a way to honor and preserve my ancestors and Irish heritage.
Dia duit Siobhan, Thank you for the bite size irish lessons. I am enjoying and learning so much I am hoping to learn all of my prayers in irish , and in that way keep the language alive in a special way for me. I would love if you could the teach the Angelus. Go raibh maith agat a cara.🙏🏼
Siobhaán go raibh maith agat Thanks a million! You said to comment if people would like any other prayers or poems. Is there any chance you could extend this one? To include :- “For thine is the kingdom The power and the glory For ever and ever Amen Would really appreciate it and appreciate all your videos. Thank you!! I know this video is super old, but have you all considered doing the magnificat? The one that starts with "my soul magnifies the lord, and my spirit shall rejoice in God my saviour"?
Than you very much for this. Many years ago I had the good fortune to make a visit to Skellig Michael which is one of my most favorite places in the world. I feel a deep spiritual connection to the monks who lived their lives in that incredible place, and to enhance that connection I want to be able to pray in a manner as close to them as possible. So I sought exactly this video and intend to learn and memorize it, so I can pray with the Monks of Skellig Michael, thank you!
Dia dhuit Siobhan: Your videos are most excellent! Please can you do The Apostle's Creed? That would complete prayers needed for the Rosary. Go robh math agat!
Much obliged, Miss. Please, the Apostles Creed, The Glory Be, The Fatima Prayer, The Hail Holy Queen, and the Let Us Pray conclusion of The Holy Rosary of The Blessed Virgin. Thanks again. Splendid videos.
Go raibh mile maith agat. I have shared this with my friends here in Germany. Would you be kind enough to recite this lovely prayer for me in Irish? O my Lord! Make Thy beauty to be my food, and Thy presence my drink, and Thy pleasure my hope, and praise of Thee my action, and remembrance of Thee my companion, and the power of Thy sovereignty my succorer, and Thy habitation my home, and my dwelling-place the seat Thou hast sanctified from the limitations imposed upon them who are shut out as by a veil from Thee. Thou art, verily, the Almighty, the All-Glorious, the Most Powerful. Bahá’u’lláh
Back to the Our Father in Irish at 70. Love it.

You can hear it sung on the channel Orthodox Ireland by sister Iosifia from Shannonbridge.
I remember it from childhood born in 1980 and this is the first time hearing it since, I only got two lines wrong delighted with that. Praise God 🙏🙏🙏
Buíchos Le Dia
I knew your grandmother and she told me she taught you Mary Had A Little Lamb as a joke.
I used to have a poster if it that I put in a plastic frame, but can't find it anymore.
You have such a friendly, pretty, and stern demeanor, like someone from a long time ago, an old soul. Thanks for sharing this with the world. God bless
❤❤❤ I get what you’re saying

because there were celtic tribes in balkan, the albanians are celtic, listen to albanian language, sounds like irish!!!!
It is believed by many historians that the Celts of Ireland were Sarmatian. Not too far from Serbia.
awh! come over someday
I feel just the same way in fact I am going to take a DNA test to find my origins as I am baffled by the connection I feel.
that's lovely God bless ye all, please pray for the Irish and all around the world 🙏
Thank you!
Nothing but LOVE ❤️❤️❤️👍
