Got chills when I realised it was the vocal from Untitled 9.

It is very funny - Wayyyyy back when Untitled 9 (Smaskifa) came out, I reversed the song on my own and realized just how much more incredibly *gorgeous* and chill-inducing the vocal was when play in reverse (which was actually the forward version of the voice sample) and also significantly alter the pitch, so that Jonsi's voice was not WAY high from that sample like in Smaskifa. That was like days after it came out.
So I like to think I was maybe the first person to actually HEAR the basis of the song Ekki Mukk, besides the band. Even Bjossi, the guy in charge of the message board who was friends with the band, asked me what program to use to both reverse and pitch-alter it - this was all on the official Sigur Ros Message Board, by the way. This was 2003 so free audio manipulatoin programs were a bit tougher to find.
My fantasy is that the band saw me crowing, WAY BACK in 2003, about how incredibly moving and tear-inducing and better Smaskifa was with Jonsi's vocals unaltered by pitch and not reversed, and decided to work on a song that made PROPER use of the sample. I'd say I should get royalties, if you ask me..

Didn't knew the Smáskífa part until now (shame on me ^^). This band always astounds me anew, love them so much.
To me, Sigur Rós is one of the most brilliant bands ever!
