That's what happens when you leave bases loaded twice without scoring any runs. Astros did the simple thing: put a runner in scoring position and later hit the ball safely at the right time.
5 hits? This is why better pitching will always prevail. Pulling Greinke in the 5th was very smart. I know it’s not seen as a big deal, but that inning could have started bad news for the Astros. The pitching matchups between Scherzer-Cole, Strasburg-Verlander, and Corbin-Greinke should be intense. No gimmes in those 3 games.

Don't know if the Yanks were that deflated by the G2 loss or what, but their performance in G3 and G4 was not to the level of a championship playoff series at all. They played these two games with all the emotion and fire of a regular season game in the middle of June.

In Game 3 the cherry on top of the win was that big fat shrieking Yankees fan losing his shit when Josh Reddick caught the pop fly off Didi Gregorius.
In Game 4 it was the obliteration of Yankees fans' sense of entitlement. They were in full voice until George's three run homer, which really shut them up. Then the Yankees players dropped their heads. They looked defeated even before Carlos hit his three run shot.
It would be nice if the boys could wrap it up in Game 5.

This is the first game in a long time where I have to say, the Yankees didn't play great baseball. Usually, they overflow their opponents with their scary disposition and the huge home crowd, but even with HF advantage, they still looked kinda flat. They kept making careless mistakes like they were the Twins in the ALDS. I'm actually kinda disappointed, not just as an Astros fan, but also as a general baseball fan looking for a good competition

Why is everyone hating on the Yankees?
I'm from outside the US and just recently started watching baseball, so I don't really understand
1. they have been the most dominant team in the entirety of baseball, they hold more world series championships than any other team can dream of. 27 championships, Oakland A's sitting in second with only 11!
2. they are the richest baseball team in the MLB and in the past they just threw money to acquire championships.
3. the fans are arrogant (but Red Sox fans take the cake and then LA Dodgers fans) on account of their team being one of the best and being the best due to its legacy, despite not winning any world series championships since 2009.
4. the Yankees will never be considered an underdog... they are considered a top dog and like in any other sports fans in that sport thats outside of the team prefer the underdog. Fans often perceive the best team or most dominant team in a sport as a bully... example New England Patriots, Golden State Warriors, Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid, Ferrari F1, New Zealand in Rugby, Australia in Cricket etc etc..

It's because the Yankees organization was and for the most part have been so good for so long. That's why you read the hateful comments about them. Jealousy man. The astros will probably win this series this year and that's good for them, but in the end the Yankees have 27 championships and eventually 28, 29, and ,30. It's inevitably going to happen sooner or later. The point is even if astros do win this year. It took them 60 plus years to get here and 1 or 2 championships don't equal 27. It's not about just this year it's the Yankees whole organization and what they built. Everyone is supposed to hate the Yankees because of that.

I've been a Yankees fan for 40 yrs. Ever since I saw Reggie Jackson as a kid. I will always be a Yankees fan. That said, I know some people will disagree, but I believe this series was scripted from the beginning. MLB decided who they wanted to be in world series before this series started. There are questionable things that people have already asked. Why did boone pull chad green when he was on fire in game 2 for some unknown reason? Why didn't he replace sanchez in the rotation with romine if he's playing so badly? How are two player who averaged over .300 and 30 plus home runs playing this badly ( sanchez and encarnacion)? Also what's up with this phantom injury about stanton who earlier in the game 1 seemed to be running bases just fine? Even Yankees coach Reggie Jackson didn't understand that and expressed his fustration. Ever since the whitesox scandal we know that these things are possible. I believe it also happens in NFL and NBA. Why would they do it? Ratings and money of course. Sports is not just about sports anymore. It's strictly about the money. In 2001 after the bucks and sixers finished a playoff series ray allen went off and said some games and series are set up for certain teams to win. Of course he was fined because he can't be telling the leagues secrets. It just what I believe, but it is what it is.

1. Boone probably wanted to save Chad Green for later in the series. Stros vs Yanks was destined to be a 6 or 7 game series due to the talent both teams have. Imo Boone just over analyzed the situation and messed up.
2. Romine is not a great offensive player and I doubt he would make a difference. Sanchez is an All Star Catcher offensively who is just going through a slump.
3. You complaining about Stanton when Marlins executive Derek Jeter gave you guys Stanton for a bag of chips and water and a declining Starlin Castro. Stanton's injury is just baseball karma for how you guys stole him from the Marlins.
