I found an easy solution. No need to buy after-market radios. No moving battery cables. No cleaning DVD lens. I just had to buy the latest DVD version for my Camry Hybrid. I bought it on Amazon insert the DVD and it uploaded. Now it's as new.

I am taking it back in morning. Bad enough I had to pay $470 for a battery now this. It worked fine before I took it in. This video is not stupid at all!.
@@jeanettemoore4160 the battery has been replaced /disconnected before and this never happened. I had fuses fiddled with, but not sure if anything else. If the battery is in the rear on a 2011 prius, then it wasn't the battery as no one went back there. After the fuses, I get no DVD message despite there being one. No amount of reinserting has fixed it, power button / power button + brake press or other combinations I can figure out has worked.
Ok mine is doing the exact same everything same screen and all. However when I put the navigation CD in it makes a weird noise and spits it back out. Please help
There is a separate video in RUclips for spitting issue. You can search for it. And I remember someone saying to kill the power once the CD is inside. You can research it.

I know this is old. But I’m still stuck at no dvd. I did a dumb thing and took battery negative out and left it for 20 min. Plugged it back in because I was doing something else. Now it won’t work at all. Did what you did and left it there. Still nothing. What a nightmare.

I'm confused. The "fix" is to insert the very disc that the screen is directing you to insert? Okay then. Well, at least now the disc is current, whereas the original disc would have had old information.
@iabakar nah, not as yet ☹️ I did eventually get the DVD out, but doesn't want to load when I put it back in. I'm going to get an updated maps dvd and see if that works.
@chich61 I purchased a new dvd from eBay, and it didn't work. I took it to the dealer, and they recommended a new navigation system for $1500. I declined i can probably find a new one on eBay for $200
@iabakar thanks for letting me know about a new dvd. I also took mine to the dealer and they want $160 just to put it on the diagnostics. I already know what's wrong with it so declined also. I saw a 2nd hand unit for $500 but can't find where I saw it 🤦♀️ 1500 -2000 for a new one, I'm like yeah, nah, I'll keep looking for a 2nd hand one. I'm going to have a look for 1 next time I go down to Adelaide.

@@brendavillela3135 Hi, I faced the same problem, then I used a tweezer to take the disc out. After I took the disc out, the radio still spinning and clicking like there is a disc still stuck inside. Then I took the whole radio out and tap on the head. then, It stopped making the clicking noice.

I'm having a hard time believing the entire audio system shuts down... I bought a van w/o the DVD and the battery died and now I have NO system at all....that's ridiculous.
