- This tutorial will show you how to crochet a cute ballet cardigan with heart detail. This tutorial is suitable for beginners.
This cardigan can be made in two sizes: size 1 - 3 years & size 4 - 6 years. This tutorial follows the pattern for size 4 - 6 years. Detailed instructions for both sizes are included in the written pattern.
For this ballet cardigan you will need a 4mm crochet hook and DK weight yarn. For my cardigan I used Drops Belle yarn (DK weight).

I made this for my granddaughter and it came out beautiful! Then her Mother (my daughter) wanted one and I couldn’t find a pattern for an adult so I followed this exactly and just used a size 7 hook with 4 medium yarn and it is gorgeous! I added 3 extra rounds at the end to make it a little longer. My daughter is a small/medium.

You can either try following the larger size with a 5mm hook and worsted weight yarn or If you message me on Etsy conversations I can send you through some adjustments for size 12 - 15 years. I haven't tested these adjustments myself but you may want to try them! x

Dear Robbie, I'll repeat my comment given above, hope you'll find it useful: I believe it is possible just to play around with the sizes of a hook and yarn - for example, I've used a 4 mm hook and quite a thick yarn and it became suitable for a 10 year old girl

I just finished making this cardigan, it looks awesome but I think it's a little small and I'm not sure where I went wrong...I followed the video and tried it on my daughter who is a small just turned 3 year old and it's a pretty snug fit...is is just supposed to be like that? Thanks!

Hi Victoria, Thank you for following along! It may be due to a difference in tension - I would suggest using a crochet hook that is 1mm larger. This will help make the cardigan a little bit larger. x
How do I get the written pattern pz? I am new to crochet. I have watched many tutorials and I have to say yours is the calmest for me so I am going to have a go of this for my grandaughter. The neckline keeps falling off my granddaughters shoulder I followed the pattern is there anyway I can tighten up the neckline I think she might have small shoulders

Hi Dora. I made this one for my baby whose due in a month, used the same number of stiches as in the video just used a much finer yarn and a 2.25m hook. It turned out perfect for 0-6 months.

I can’t read patterns and in order to make the smaller size I followed the link and would have to pay £4.70 for a pattern I can’t read...😔

You don't really need. Just took sleeves part and continue crochet around the sleeve base witch you already have until you reach your the lenght.
