It’s nice but I wouldn’t do that to an original 93 Cobra. Any other Foxbody I don’t have a problem with. Pretty much ruined this Cobra.
The like button isn't working damn it.
1700whp from just 289ci and one turbo???
281 cui
The 4.6 is no joke it’s one of the best motors Ford has ever built this doesn’t surprise me at all the 4.6 can handle a lot and it’s affordable compared to other Ford engines but it’s not cheap crap like the ls I’m glad there are people still putting Ford engines in Fords and keeping it real this car is a beast
I thought he said, "the driver just lets it go and automatically sh*ts itself!" 🤣😂 If I was sitting on 1700whp...I'd probably sh*t myself too! The '93 Cobra is one of my favorite cars. Buddy had a teal one, that was NOT slow. Fastest car I've ever been in, with the 700hp and 125 shot. That the windows roll down and still rockin' the Cobra taillights...she's clean and baaaaad!
I heard the same thing. Classic!
So what was done to your buddies 700hp cobra plus 125hp nos. 1993 Factory cobras were 302c.i. factory rated 235hp. The factory block wouldn't hold up long under that kinda power.
That’s funny!!
@@rickstorm4198 waiting to hear back from my buddy. May have bumped up the starting HP before shot. I know it was in the 600s and the shot...maybe. Been a long time, but know I'm the 600's.
@@rickstorm4198 okay...over shot the motor HP. 400+ish, 250 shot, Trick Flow Heads, Cam, Intake, Pistons...10.4 car still fast af for me for a daily
Love the versatility of the fox platform. Autox/ road course, drag , and drift. So cool seeing the 4.6 big turbo!
Same here. Built right they seem to do everything well
Is yoer car
Is car foor sell
1700hp on stock block gotta love those Ford mod motors
No kidding
Nice car - good to see something different. Shame you didn't get a ride in that one - that last pass looked wicked.
Would’ve been cool to get a ride along but they wouldn’t allow it
I thought LS swap or twin turbo coyote , but a 4.6 in a 93' Cobra? Made a near perfect pass at the end , Ford 💪💯.. Great episode Shawn and crew.. 🤗
Thank you and yeah…we were blown away by the 4.6 making this power!
What a sin to turn a 93 cobra into a drag car ….
A 30k mile cobra at that
I don’t hate but Jesus Christ cobra SVT 93 car is worth a lot of money ..
MUSTANGS WILL ALWAYS BE RELEVANT😎
Nice Foxboro I love them, I have a 92 GT had it 30yrs 91,000 original miles and still hauls ass, great footage Shawn.
That’s awesome! Can’t wait to get ours built. Starting soon…
@@AutotopiaLA cool, good luck brother
a lot of people talk big HP numbers but all that doesnt mean anything on the track if you cant put the power to the ground
this is why alot of events take place at night better racing temperature
Night would’ve been better for sure but they got it to hook hard on that 3rd pull
Nice to see some love for the MOD motors! Two favorite engine families are FE and MODS.
I love my 96 cobra’s teksid 4.6 dohc motor! It can handle well over 1500whp on the stock displacement block! Even the stock heads are good for 1000+whp, these motors are literally just pistons, rods, and fuel supporting mods from 1000+whp
There's a guy out there somewhere I found making 2200hp on a stock 4.6 iron block. The Teksids are strong but I've always read that most guys switch to iron blocks once they hit 1500hp. He said in the video that this was a '99-04 block and I believe '96 or '97 was the end of the Teksid block as Ford got their Windsor aluminum block plant up and running in '97 or '98.
@@outspokengenius there still hasn’t been anyone to prove the limits of the teksid block, I’ve seen 2000hp teksid blocks, the only reason why anyone would go with an iron block is if they don’t have the teksid block because they’re getting kind of hard to get a hold of…a lot of 96-98 cobras don’t even come with them anymore from people swapping them out for gt bottom ends or other non teksid blocks
Refreshing to see a foxbody running Ford powertrain and making crazy power. A testament that you CAN make reliable horsepower with a Ford Modular engine. And now, with the 7.3 Godzilla push rod engine on the market, it'd be nice to see more Ford powered Mustangs back out on the drag strip. Awesome build and, as always, great coverage. Thanks Autotopia LA
the ultimate go to dairy queen in vehicle, just awesome, that last launch would've pit my shants
The car is cool but I wouldn't have made a Cobra Foxbody into a dragster if the Tittle wasn't totaled. I would have kept it classic. If it was an LX or Gt, 6 in line , 4 in line yeah.
Thanks for showing it Shawn
You're right Beautiful
1700@the wheels
Hard to believe that they can keep a basically stocker from grenading
Amazes me
It isn't really stocker. Just the block. Has billet crank or at least steel. Though the iron cranks have been known to live at 800fwhpbabd down. Rods are certainly aftermarket. The heads certainly have some work, they were c heads, good heads .. intake is custom etc.... Just the block is factory.
@@rickstorm4198 I thought he said it was basically stock other than heads
@@rickstorm4198
I just re listened
My bad
Stock displacement
I just heard it wrong
Lots of work done to this but still impressive from a stock 4.6 block
That guy Eddie knows his shit.
Cool man. Stock configuration 4.6 litre. That fox body has no limits. Radical.👍❤😎🤑🤑👍
That's so cool that that BITCHIN' car is all steel, no fake fiberglass shit!
Hate to tell you this but the bumpers aren't steel 😁
This thing is such a cool build and that class is fast
1700 horsepower out of a 4.6 liter engine! That’s awesome!
Mod motors are great platform for big horsepower
They are tough engines. The connecting rods being the weak point in most, barring a 2003/2004 terminator as they were factory ready for 800 to 1000hp internals.
I love the modular engine. Have a wicked 327 c.i. high compression, e85 sohc 2v with trick flow 195 heads (work on heads by foxlake) custom gibtec Pistons etc... Dynoes all motor over 600fwhp. All aluminum, using a "cammer tr50" race block.
Pretty crazy! Stock block but not completely stock engine
@@rickstorm4198 all motor 600whp sohc 4.6??? HOLY SHIT!!!
@@rickstorm4198 I bet that car is a dam riot!! 🙏
Cool car ..well put together
Surprised they are running a power glide in the Ford for a trans. Maybe put in a LS instead, 😆 lol
big hp .powerglide is king
I’m not a drag race guy but these are pretty common for a reason…they work
And a lot of LS’s are connected to Ford 9 inchers in the back. You go with what works, regardless of brand affiliation. Or in the case of LS, you go with what is cheap and readily available. DOH!!!
@@DarylCook63
True that Daryl, but the LS engines are not really that cheap when you factor in everything that one has to do to make an LS engine work in a Fox Body.
We checked into doing the LS thing, just to see what sorta money we would have in doing the swap, and we were looking at $12k to $15k, and this was back around 2009 or 2010.
One could build a very nasty sbf for that kinda money.
Thankyou Sean, what an awesome build. Personally I would have kept it original numbers matching low mileage if it was mine.
You got to admit...this is the finest reincarnated 5.0 of all time
Certainly one of the best I’ve seen
Another great looking Fox body. Love this platform, So versatile. This car is obviously set up for drag racing and seems to do it very well. Love this class in drag racing. Still looks very much like a street car. Which is very appealing. Be safe and stay well.
This thing is such a beauty and definitely set up to run hard
'WAS' a collector.
This we can agree on.....
Yep but this is what he wanted to do
The question we really need answered...what was his speed and times?
Great to see you back 100% bringing us the baddest rides in the world. You take care brother. 💪🇺🇸💪👍
Thank you! It’s good to be back at it. This car is pretty insane
Bad ass car, can I get it with ac for those hot summer night cruises in Arizona 😏
Arizona is chill, no AC needed 😁
Gonna need it out there 🥵
What a freggin clean ass car!! Ive always wanted to build a foxbody. Thing moves!!
This thing is clean and a beast!
I love this build. It's totally in keeping with the original ethos of the Cobra. Let's see. Uno 3x boost factor from 30 psi of turbo boost and due a great PowerGlide, tres nice 9 inch, quattro still all steel, and cinque that sweet little 281 Quad Cam. ✔️✔️✔️💣💥
Beast of a car! Love the shirt Shawn! Thanks for representing!
Love this Foxbody great video
This thing is so cool and when it hooks it gets down!
"Oh but ls swap is cheaper, better, the 4.6L makes no power, blah, blah, blah," nope, i love my 4.6s!!2v guy here but man, with that much power, bigger tires are needed, those tires are too small, come on now.. Great build tho..
There’s purpose to the small tire, all steel & glass
@@AutotopiaLA is that the class requirements or record he's holding 🤔 or something??
damn thats a beautiful nardo grey m3 im sure the owner is very handsome
Love to drive that on the street
Interesting he has the hatch back instead of the notch back. Figured because it’s a cobra and it’s worth it to him. I’m buying a hatch back and want to do drag racing with it but everybody telling me to get the notch because it’s lighter and stiffer. Kinda got me regretting getting a hatch but I think the hatch looks so much better.
Nice car nice driving to control it and keep it looking that good.
Awesome stang.
Since you shot this. check out Nxt Shift Vet.
just sick he is not in california though.
He has 2 seats, stick shift.
The kid seems supper nice.
@AutotopiaLA what no street pulls/burnouts? 🤣
😂😂
DEAR AUTOTOPIA , I thought the 60 something yellow camaro AUTO /SLOW was my least favorite but this one tops it off ..
I love foxbodies but I absolutely feel that autotopia should focus and street rods
That’s where our focus will always be but I thought this would be something different and fun and it timed out to shoot in Bakersfield while we were up there to shoot with Born Vintage and their crazy white 69 Camaro
Those guys are trying to set the world on fire out the gate. It's so much better to ramp in power run to run instead of throwing all the bald eagles at the track right off the bat. Nice car though.
I wanna race mine is 2200 hp with a 400 shot ..and my other motor is basically the same 1700hp
There's a 3 valve on stock rims getting down in the 7's in the 1/4 JPC Racing
God that's beautiful!!
Beauty and beast for sure
Mean HAWAIIAN MEAN ALOHA FROM HONOLULU HAWAII BIG AL MANOA VALLEY AAALLLOOOHHHAAA 👌

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I LOVE THE FOX-BODY MUSTANGS!!!!!! THAT MUSTANG IS CLEAN AND FAST!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Not only fast but really tastefully done
Great car just kinda upsetting to do that to a genuine cobra the value of that car stock keeps going up
Thst beautiful girl at the end showing modeling the swag was the best part!🤙🏻💯🍒
😂
SICK!
Definitely a sick ride
Definitely bad ass car dude kind of where my world runs but we do the dirty Street stuff later bro
Dirty street stuff says it all 👊
This was made to do one thing, and one thing only. Make speed.
I would love more videos on cars like this!!!
Love my foxbodys
Me too!
I grew up in the 80s and 90s in Miami, so I obviously love fox bodies. I just don’t like stuff that isn’t street legal. I APPRECIATE it, because I love driving race cars on race tracks. I just don’t think they look right. (All visual comments, I’d love to drive this thing)
Such a refreshing take on video production here, compared to a couple other drag racing channels (1320 and TRC) which use so much over the top music, hype, dramatics, and obnoxious culture.
Did he say this was factory paint color?
What about the forgotten cars? When you do a burnout and the cop stops you and you say it wasn't me, he laughs if you're in the Mustang. But in a Savoy, he would have doubts
I'm confused. The 1993 Cobra had a 5.0L, yes? So stock block....from what? No ET on the last run?
It’s a 4.6 liter DOHC mod motor which came in SN95 Mustangs along with Ford Crown Vics, F150’s, Explorers, etc. The car has NT on the windshield meaning it is a no time (i.e grudge) car.
a lot of racers dont show time why bc they are grudge racers $$$$$$ races only
Dan, slight correction, no factory crown vic or F150 or explorer vane with a 4.6l dohc. The rare Mercury Marauder did, the Lincoln aviator did as well. Ford f150 did have supercharged 5.4l (though i believe it was still 2v and 3v could be wrong on that one) the Lincoln navigators came with dohc 5.4l 4v too.
I Own severel teksid 4.6l aluminum blocks, 2 very rare ford motor sport "cammer tr50" blocks all aluminum big bore 4.6l/5.0l blocks cost 5k each new. (I paid 5k for 2 of them NOS) one is in a 327 c.i. modular 2v high comp e85 195cc trick flow 2v headed 600hp plus 1970 maverick.
Love modular fords
@@rickstorm4198 - Yes, you are correct. I mistakenly lumped all 4.6 mod motors together which is incorrect. Thanks for the correction.
Not a collector anymore.. clean car though
That steering wheel is awesome. I understand why you are not allowed to drive it. It is a expensive build and difficult to handle. But I agree that I was so much cooler that you have the opportunity to drive it.
Incredible this block can withstand this level of boost and punishment, obviously there must be a girdle or splayed main caps. Good stuff ALA!
ET? The whole purpose of the car!
Hell yeah! My man is back. Autopia LA. Would love to connect to some texas cars Autopia. I have a ton of friends with one of a kind cars that you could shoot.
I doubt it. Texas is a shithole
I’m back! I’d love to come out and shoot. Where in TX? Send me a dm on IG or an email please
I live close to the Houston area. I will reach out to my friends and get them on board. I really just love the shoots you do. Keep it simple about the car. I will reach out soon with some cars I think you will really appreciate.
Nice drag car. However, this isn't a car or episode I'm use to from the platform
3:47 tbm brakes....... LoL 🤘🏻🤩🤩🤩🤩
Dammit I love nitos vehicles, my favorite has to be his 85 s10 👍🏼 great video
That color though 🤤🤤 comp orange?
The sound the engine all around just gorgeous well fuck done nigga 💪💪💪💪
Nice car but what's the ET???
3rd times a charm. That thing is hairy!!
That 3rd launch was hard! Nasty car
Very cool!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍
Glad see something different then a Coyote, definitely cool and different!

Correction FOXBODY
That should get you there
Sending love support and respect from Boston 💪 💜
Badass build, but to a OG Cobra Bruh come on !
What did it run on that last pass? Nice build! 👍
They run in a no time class so we don’t know but sure launched hard when they got it to hook
@@AutotopiaLA I see, thanks.
thought i heard 4:80 on the video
Gotta be hard to time the spool w all that IC piping.
There's a song called "On the Streets of Bakersfield" by Dwight Yokam and Buck Owens. ruclips.net/video/mB7oUI32E1Y/видео.html
I love that song…I think about Dwight, Merle and Buck every time I’m up there
Nice car
Driver mode needed
Cost to build?
Too much power

1700whp from 281 cubes on 30lbs?. . . wait, WHAT?! AND its got 275s on 13s on the rear.............. riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. 🤣👍
15” x 13” wide.
Its a X275 class car, specific class follow our IG’s i posted it somewhere in the comment section
Gene unlike those crappy chebby cheap turd motors you like ,4.6l DOHC heads actually flow... 🤣 If you think this is impossible.... Look up John Mihovetz, 3000hp on 281 c.i. and then go cry when you realize chebby ls are turds for poor people. 🤣
He builds junkyard ls trash and is "amazed" what did you expect.... 😁...
Alot of the big radial racers low 4 and 3 second cars run a 275 stretched onto a 15" wide wheel more contact patch and still with in the rules
