I love the sounds it makes the game feel more alive like it’s a breathing and realistic open world. Makes it feel less like a video game and more like a movie you can interact with or a simulation.
When I hear wind in GTA SA it's usually because I'm somewhere high and remote, like a mountain or a skyscraper top. Most of such places aren't meant to be accessed by normal means (other than aircraft and glitches/mods), and the game doesn't even make you go there. So when you finally arrive there and see how the place itself has only a moderate amount of detail (i.e. this place isn't used for anything, but the devs expected you to actually get there with some effort), the desolation and the sound of wind really create the "you are not supposed to be here" vibe.
I'll always regret not playing SA during it's peak. Me and my neighbor would play Vice City together and must've put on hundreds of hours. Then when San Andreas came out, he got it first day but I didn't even give it a chance and just dismissed it as _"nah man you can't top Vice City, this game has to suck."_ Basically just wrote it off as "different = bad" Probably the fattest L of my life
complete opposite for me, I did have 3 and vice city before I got san andreas but I didn't play them all that much. I did, however, play san andreas so much that I still remember the button combination for many cheat codes lol

Gives good liminal space vibes.
Why is the wind so creepy in that game. Like, it has to be intentional.

Same. I have played every 3d universe gta as a kid except SA and only played the game few years ago. Wish I played it when I was younger.
