What is your favorite lighthearted mystery? 💙Also, apologies for the overlay at 5:42 - not sure how I did that, but I wanted to get this up today so here we are 🥰
I've lived in Maine all my life, and it's one of the most beautiful states! The coasts and forests are gorgeous in summer, and I want to read more Maine cozies!
I so badly want to visit Maine! It's in my top three states I'd love to see that I've never been to 💚 It looks like the absolute opposite of the Southwest.
You are not helping my TBR list, in the best way 🙂 You sold me on the Daphne and her high school sweetheart solving mysteries in their camper van. I can't wait to find that one. I love Child's Tea mystery series. I have been reading those for year. I used to work at a bookstore, and we could keep the books when the covers were sent back to the publisher. I have many recipes from her books.
Thank you for your videos which give me new ideas to put on my TBR. I really like the Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton where Lori Shepherd thought Aunt Dimity was just a character in a bedtime story.....until the Dickensian law firm of Willis & Willis summons her to a reading of the woman's will. Down-on-her-luck Lori learns she's about to inherit a sizable estate--if she can discover the secret hidden in a treasure trove of letters in Dimity's English country cottage. Another older series I like was The Ellie Haskell Mysteries starting with The Thin Woman by Dorothy Cannell. I read this one years ago but only a few of them. They are now on Hoopla so I am going to start over on this series. I also love Her Royal Spyness, and a couple that you mentioned The Noodle Shop Mysteries, The Cheese Shop Mysteries and The Tea Shop Mysteries. I love tea and I have tried several of the teas mentioned in the book and even attempted some of Drayton's blends. When I finish a couple of my series I think I'll try the Record Shop Series, the Jane Austen Mystery Series and Nosy Neighbors.
Mine are Churchill and Pemberley cosy mysteries by Emily Organ 😊 ❤ So witty and naive and very well- structured. There's also a detective dog, nosy neighbors and lots lots of eclaires without the calories.
Great video! I put several of the books you talked about on hold in my library apps! I need to try the noodle shop mysteries again. I listened to the first one on audio and maybe I didn’t like the narrator. I’ll have to get the ebook for the next one.
I have read EVERY Tea Shop Mystery. The first? Were called the Indigo Tea Shop Mysteries. Started reading them 10/12 yrs. ago? I don't like the 3 most recent. Maybe I've outgrown them, just not as good, maybe Child's has written too many. She has 2 other series. 1 about Scrapbooking and 1 about cooking. Thanks, very fun. Really want to read Nosy Neighbors. 😊
You mentioned so many series I love too. You are making want to try the Mainely Needlepoint series but I don't know how much I'll like the needlepoint part. Is needlepoint a big part of the series? Cats and Maine sound amazing though. The series I've read and love that seems a little more lighthearted and has some humor to it is Second Chance Cat by Sofie Ryan. Elvis the cat is fantastic! There is a group in the series that also brings good vibes. Also, I find the second hand shop to be interesting and unique. It takes place in MAINE so you'll probably like it. LOL!
Ooh! I definitely want to read Second Chance Cat... plus MAINE yay 😊The needlepoint descriptions aren't over the top to me. I'm not big on sewing or things like that and didn't find it too much. It's more about the history and tradition of it.
@@bookswithamymarie If you do pick up Second Chance Cat, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Thanks for the info! I will probably try the series at some point.
I’d like to recommend Killers of a certain age by Deanna Raybourn and also the Sherlock Holmes bookstore series by Vicki Delany…very good reads if you haven’t yet read those.
I noticed you have Marmee in your background. My library in Michigan brought the author to a bookstore/coffee shop for a discussion. She was interesting. I believe she is working on a book about Eleanor Roosevelt. Thank you for your recommendations. I have been on hold forever at the library for Nosy Neighbors, glad you enjoyed it so much, can’t wait.📚❤️

It's such a good series! It gets better with each book 💛
4:44 I loved Nosy Neighbors. You definitely need to try Love Overboard. Senior sleuths who also are meddling matchmakers. They are so endearing.
That sounds lovely! 💛

I haven't, but I want to after reading the Be My Ghost book 💙
