What an achievement, very enjoyable, you didn't seem to encounter bad weather once, to the extent we learned more about your cooking than your sailing! ....and one. tack a day?
We did have some squalls and some pretty big waves but we sailed VERY conservatively to not break anything. Waves and weather always looks much calmer than it is. We almost never tacked all the way
P.s. now people understand why Capt Jack Sparrow always walked the way he did. Not just rum, but he never got his land legs back. I am looking forward to all these experiences.
I think you sailed through the sargasso sea , and I enjoyed watching your daily routine, no big drama and both of you look happy, cheers I wish I was there . Safe travels.
I enjoyed both of your Atlantic crossing videos, it's the first two I've watched so far. I love your style of quick clips of what is going on without any background music and other drama. Keep up the great work!!!!
Hay guys, love you life. Hay I must say how I loved the way that you didn't let the cap (cork) of your little wine bottle go over the side. Most impressed 👍. Thank you. From me & the sea gods😜. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍

That’s good to know. Glad you liked it. Hope I did contribute to your research. In the end you just have to stop thinking and throw the lines and sail in to the blue 💨⛵️
Thanks! Batteries are actually quite a bit higher than the bilge in the back. The floor boards would be floating before bilge water would reach them. But unfortunately, the water came through the rudder into that water tight compartment where the batteries were 🥲
Thank you! Its very fun to share. How can we not be positive right? 😁 Just checked out your channel, looks like you also preparing for a big journey. Wish you luck and hope to meet you on the sea one day❤️🙌

Hi guys nice trip. Looks like you are really love it. Just a thought...... We always rig/fix the spiboom with 3 lines , the genoa sheet runs THROUGH the pole eye. Then its possible to reef /unreef the genoa instantly if needed. The boom stays in place. Looks like the boat can handle a lot more power up front. Better for speed and. motion Safe seas. Enjoy Greetz Frankie
Hello and thanks! We actually did run the Genoa sheet through the eye in the beginning but it always creeped backwards and got close to breaking. We found this way works better, at least here. I never really took any sailing lessons or sailed with other people yet (which probably shows) so I still have tons to learn. It would definitely handle more. But im very happy we didn’t push the rig too much in the Atlantic because (spoiler alert) we ripped the lower port stay the other day… 😐 Thanks for the advice! 🙌
That was excellent guys... absolutely loved it! Thanks for taking us along! You both made it look like 'plain sailing'! Good time to 'run like the wind' from all the madness in Europe too! Well done... SUBD!
@@sailingfishcake It was a lot more impressive than just getting 'some' stuff right + luck! Not sure Finn Möller expected you guys to be cruising leisurely across the Atlantic in his Alo 96 nearly 40 years later! I think he probably imagined that everyone would turn East into the Med rather than West across the Atlantic for 3000 miles when he originally designed them! Although I did read somewhere that it narrowly qualifies for Ocean racing because it has such a good CSF (Capsize Screening Formula) rating of 1.95. Fishcake definitely impressed me... outstanding yacht! You guys should be proud of yourselves too of course... even more outstanding achievement! Crack on and much luck with your intrepid channel! Enjoy paradise too! That gargantuan Pacific Ocean appears well within your sights now! Hoohar! Crack on!
@@Artiz... what a nice, interesting comment! You’ve really done some serious research about this boat and the builder. Very impressive! The boat really feels quite stable and we love it. People keep saying it's a small boat, i thought 27- 28 was the minimum for a comfy ride out there, for the price. I actually plan on getting a Cat 27 in a couple of weeks to start the sailing part of my life. Hope to see yall out there.
It’s never gonna be comfy but people have also crossed oceans in much smaller vessels. Same Holmes sailed a 24 footer to Hawaii, which was a great inspiration for me! Hope it works out and you get to explore the world! 🙌🙌

Always wondered, how did you fix the leak in your rudder post tube?
We couldn’t under sail since the waves pushed the water up all the time. Once we arrived, we waited until it was dry so I could fiberglass around it.
You eat so much mayonnaise and onions lol😂😂😂
It’s just tasty 🤤
