    It’s crazy you get called for knee reaping for putting your foot on someone’s hip in Ashi but with butterfly ashi you can turn belly down and twist someone’s knee anyway you want and it’s legit

    Mikey is such a nice guy that his instinct is to go make sure his opponent is ok. But this is probably the last thing the opponent wants. He probably just wants to be left alone for a bit.

    His opponent had the reverse heel hook while standing all day but too concerned about his own. Put all your weight on the foot being attack and do a standing reverse heel hook, this is how i was taught in Catch Wrestling. Just a thought.

    Would heel hook be effective from this particular ashi position?
    I am thinking when I go for the standard ashi, but my opponent peels my foot off his hip, then I could transition directly from butterfly ashi and dig the heel.

    • @johanprieto9357
      @johanprieto9357 4 года назад

      The foot on the hip like that exposes you to the inside heel hook, your partner can pull your knee in for like a 50 50 variation

    • @johanprieto9357
      @johanprieto9357 4 года назад

      @@theinvertedprotagonist MMA might be too slippery from this position. In a street fight with clothes on I'm sure you could make anything work, just realize someone might try to kick you in the face while you try to get the heel hook. Toquinho aka Palharres was in this situation before in MMA and still broke the guys leg lol

    • @theinvertedprotagonist
      @theinvertedprotagonist 4 года назад +1

      @@johanprieto9357 In Leg Knot/Game Over position, it's impossible to get kicked in the face. But in Inside Sankaku yes you're a lot more vulnerable to strikes. That's why I don't get the hype about this position.

    • @andrewferris1903
      @andrewferris1903 4 года назад

      Kind of, you could use the butterfly hook to lift their leg and expose the heel in order to transition into double outside ashi with a bite, but outside heel hooks and DOA are a garbage submission and position compared to transitioning into the belly down ankle lock IMO.

    • @BJJTrickster

      Yes rolling out is a legit escape in SOME cases but however, Mikey in this match initiated the rolling belly down ankle lock to generate more torque. His opponent was too late to react

    What's with the red belt? I thought that was only for old men who have done jj for ever

    • @BJJTrickster
      @BJJTrickster  5 лет назад +8

      At ACB JJ, when the two competitors are wearing the same color gi, they make one person wear the red belt so the referee has an easier time calling out scores. In most competitions they use a green and yellow belt instead. I hope this answers your question.
