Thanks for your input on the Beta. I also have a Beta 390 and love it. I switched from the Honda crf450L. The Beta is much more rideable. Also while watching this video I realized you're in my neck of the woods. Would be great to talk shop with someone who has the same bike and maybe hit the trails one day.
In australia I'm told we have a more powerful lighter version with the less emission controls...i could be wrong. Mine is remapped with beta factory upgrade exhaust, powerbomb and re map and suspension mods for my weight ....it's a beast and it eats hills.
Ive had a 400 KTM,RFS............and yeah, why not get the 500 or 525 ? The 400 just did not make the power it needed to make, but weighed the same as a 500. My 400 was working so hard, it got hot quick in the woods and would blow it's water out.
There’s less than half an inch difference in seat height in these bikes. Sounds like you need to set your sag. Sag can set a little over to get a lower seat height . I typically run about 25mm more because I’m on the short side.
It’s purpose is straight up off road, capable of anything. Race stiffer for big hits and standard more forgiving for tech and absorbing smaller bumps, but still not soft. To me it’s the closest 4 stroke to a 300 2 stroke. It fills a void in the market and I love mine
+200 rpms map wothrace map keeping the OEM exhaust ( makes it runs on more rich side) / repack exhaust with high quality fiber and fully wrap inside = monster torque, can even ride on idling without touching the throttle ! start too in 1/3 second whatever super cold or hot temperature , crash upside down or super heated
I just got a 430rr-s 2023, mid range monster. Decent low end, we do a lot of tec 1st gear stuff, I put 13t on front and do 5k at 50mph. No flame outs. Gave up a big red pig 00 650r cam and pumper, 430 is as fast
You mentioned this bike doesnt flame out like your 350 did. Was your previous 350 a KTM product? In my experience, none of the Beta 4Ts have flame out issues due to that stepper motor.
I just purchased a 23 500rr and at 4000' elevation i have that bog at mid rpm. It has not gone away. I have taken it back to dealership and they cant replicate the problem, dealer is at 350' elevation. Not sure what to do to correct the problem.
Great review! I currently have a 500 rrs being built through the byob program Beta offers. In your previous review you mentioned the bike smoked on start up. Has that problem corrected itself? Ive been watching a lot of review videos and at times after hearing about the problems people are having it makes me wonder if I've made a bad decision purchasing a Beta.
It still smokes slightly on cold start-up, but has not gotten any worse, also it will not do it after initial start-up. I will let you know after my next oil change about the amount of oil consumed, but I am still very happy with the purchase. I have a couple Betas and would not be hesitate to buy another. Congrats on the 500 RRS.
@Rick-ul2ur , I have never heard of Beta's smoking, after watching many videos. I have an XT which is supposed to smoke (!) and a 500 and it also has no issues.
I only got to try a xtrainer once at beta days, and I felt this machine did technical terrain better for me. However, I also have a beta 300 race edition and nothing tackles technical terrain as well as that. I just didn’t enjoy the xtrainer at all.
The best part of this vlog, riding with your son....
I agree with you on the turning radius. I dented my radiators to give more clearance and I still wish it had more.
Thanks for that from the UK...you've explained the difference between it and the 350.
I concur! I have a 2020 390RR-S.
Yeah good review of the 390 and great knowledge of the design principles of the is bike compared to 2T's and the 350's. Well done.

that's great, I'm always looking for new people to ride with.
Did the same thing .. love this over the my 450rl
Hi, what the 390 like cruising on the road in 6th gear?
When you switched from the 450l did you test ride the beta 500 or just the 390

Congratulations on the new bike.
Hi great review, what it like cruising on the road in 6th gear, can it hold 60mph any vibrations?
It has no problem holding 60 but revs a little high with the 13 tooth. Definitely vibrates, but balancing the wheels should get rid of most of that.
FMF map is great. My 16 390 has a much lower seat height than my 300 and 450 4T Sherco’s.
Agreed. My '19 beta 300 sits much lower than my '23 390. seems like they used to build them lower which is one thing I love about my '19.
You mentioned this bike doesnt flame out like your 350 did. Was your previous 350 a KTM product? In my experience, none of the Beta 4Ts have flame out issues due to that stepper motor.
Yes it was, a Ktm 350 xcf-w. Interesting theory on the stepper motor preventing flame-out, I always love hearing insight from others.

did you make sure to properly reset the stepper motor when you first unload the bike at elevation?

@@rawmotors Thank you! Looking forward to any thoughts you have about these Italian stallions we decided to purchase/ ride.
Heard where?

can be vapor from engine case which ends in admission hose, or just some oil of air filter which decants a bit... @@rawmotors
with a 4 stroke this good we are going to keep pushing the e-bike market back on its heels. long live bikes that have real engine sounds!
The quiet bikes are nice. Lets me ride on some nice private properties.
They wouldnt let me bring a normal gas bike.
How is it vs an xtrainer can you do that trick terrain
