I think one of the reasons why Americans like to always have a drink in hand is because of our “car culture”. If we were commuting by public transportation/walking I feel like we wouldn’t be bothered carrying something around all the time, but cars let us put everything in our car.

Agree! I used to live in a very walkable US where I didn’t need a car. I live in the South now where it’s 100% car dependent and I have water tumblers now, but back when I walked everywhere/took trains and buses, I never carried a heavy water bottle around, that would’ve been way too much.
I always have drinks around for reasons unrelated to my car: 1) I’m AuDHD. A lot of neurodivergents tend to coincidentally keep about 3 drinks around at any given time: one for hydration (we are bad at reading body signals for thirst, so a lot of us force the habit of hydration), one for flavor (sensory), and one for caffeine. 2) I live in the desert. Same reason I keep sunglasses with me at all times. 3) IBS-C. Need me that liquid to help with that.
On water bottle culture - I'm a uni student in Italy, and nearly everyone brings reusable water bottles to class. Also, most people (including myself) like to have one in the bag when going places. But it's NEVER those gigantic Stanleys or something of the sort - 500-700 ml max! I think it's because there are many water fountains available. My uni has a couple on every floor, if not more, many sports centres do as well, there are fountains on the street and in parks, or you can literally just pour from any bathroom tap because the water quality is great. People can refill their bottles anytime, so no one bothers to carry around a giant one with their daily intake lol. I think I once saw a girl in my uni carry a Stanley, but she was probably American.
That's really neat to hear! I have always drank water like a fish, but when I studied at a uni in Spain in 2008 Spanish students did NOT have any water bottles during class. I'm pro hydration, but you definitely don't need a Stanley or even a huge bottle unless you're backpacking lol
@christinehottinger5791 haha that's true! I have a ~500 ml bottle for uni and even most trips, and a tiny ~250 ml one for small purses - never need more at once, just refill them when necessary. Plus I have a couple of insulated bottles, but only use them at the beach or in the mountains. I really don't understand the need to always have a cold or hot drink unless you're in these special environments. Room temperature is just fine??? also it's best for your teeth and digestion in large amounts

The always having a drink thing definitely came along after 2010. I don’t remember people at work or in school, other than in professions like Nursing, carrying their drinks with them for the day.
European here! Other than some small flasks, usually carried by ppl who work at an office of some kind or are going to the gym, I don't think I've seen ppl here carrying massive drink tumblers around (I have yet to see a Stanley in person!). I *have* seen them used in videos by folk who have them at home (the Welsh brothers come to mind) but that's about it. I think carrying something this huge around is mental tbh, my backpack is heavy enough as it is 😅 PS: extra thought. Many people think that drinking water/liquids is the best - or only - way to stay hydrated. This is incorrect. We should be getting a good deal of the water we need from our diet. Perhaps the higher fresh fruit/vegetable consumption rate in Europe also explains why we don't carry 3l of water or soda or coffee with us at all times.
Yeah Im also thinking that a giant bottle/cup is linked to the car-centric life. I couldnt imagine carrying that in my purse or backbag and if Im at home or workplace I use a glass...
I hit the Cosmic Beauty restock hard today 😂 I've been waiting for Muse to restock for... forever... and really wanted Undergrowth and Nudetrals too. Normally I'd NEVER buy three palettes from a brand I've never tried before but I've yet to hear a negative review on any of those palettes and they go out of stock soooo fast. I hope I love them as much as I'm hearing everyone else love them!
I just got Undergrowth, which was my first purchase from the brand. I'm super into it and it makes me want more of their palettes, so I think you'll be happy 😊
Frosty The Snowman is definitely a North American classic Christmas movie, or at least Canadian for sure! I'm almost 48, and as a child, I watched this every Christmas, along with Rudolph and the Grinch! Im in western Canada. ❤
firstly, you look gorgeous, Angie! You look like fall without the usual reds and oranges. I personally do bring a big water bottle around but it is not a trendy brand, it's just a big thermal jug because I forget to drink water until I am dehydrated. I bring it for health reasons 😂 the Colourpop Frosty the Snowman palette looks beautiful. I am Asian and we love Christmas...but Frosty the Snowman is not nostalgic for me either!
Pat McGrath has a reputation as a makeup artist and she’s legendary not even she charges this much and he quality is top notch. Patrick ta is not on her level and has had mild issues with his palette. The price is ridiculous
I love that dress so much and you look so beautiful in it! 😍 I reminds of a bridesmaid’s dress my mother had when I was a very young girl. Hers wasn’t as nice and the print was kind of reversed with an orange background and green and yellow flowers, but the shape was similar. I loved going in her closet and trying to put that dress on when she wasn’t around. I was swimming in it, but thought I was a princess.
Hi Angelica, I enjoyed watching this video, regarding Patrick Ta eyeshadow duo $42Us, it a NO for with this launch, because when converted to AUD it close to$63 . Love Katherine xoxo
Many places in the us don’t have public fountains and you generally have to travel a greater distance to get from point a to point b, so stopping for water or food is a whole extra thing, and can be expensive, too. Also the us generally has a lot more hot areas than Europe, so not having water can be a safety issue and not just a comfort thing. Also did anyone else get told “you’re not getting a drink, we have water in the car” as a kid?
I’m a voice actress. I’ve always had to keep my hydration up. Using a refillable bottle became absolutely normal in Portugal as some climate awareness became more prominent (and it makes drinking way more affordable), but it’s usually something you can carry around in your bag or backpack, not a two litre bottle with dangling charms. You can refill at any faucet, because our water is perfectly fine to drink. Having a bigger temperature controlled thermos is also common, if you like a long hot beverage to keep you company at the office (or a cool one in summer) to save on buying expensive beverages throughout the day, but that’s about it. We are overcrowded with tourists, but honestly I don’t remember the last time I saw someone with one of these oversized tumblers walking around. Because, again, they’re not portable, and here they have to actually walk. Sadly, they get here and decide (dumbly) to buy palettes of bottled water, both to carry around and dispose of, and to drink in their rooms/b&bs - again, the tap water is perfectly fine to drink, but they think they’re in the jungle or something. All in all, you may need *one* good refillable bottle that you can carry comfortably, and wash and refill for many years. Collecting them is just another pointless type of consumerism, dumbed down to the tropes of being “sustainable”.
Frosty is a cartoon about school kids building a snowman. An evil magician who wasn't very good threw his hat away. It flew onto Frosty head and it brought him to life. It is a classic Christmas cartoon movie with Rhudolf the Red Nose Reindeer and some wonderful claymation.😊❤
I wish we were friends, you give me such knowledge to really help me make informed decisions. I also love listening to you! If you like occasional feel good cartoons during holidays you should make a point to watch Frosty this holiday. It’s sweet and cute and just fills you with joy for the holidays. It’s a little 30 min cartoon. Very sweet.
I go to a school with a lot of Gen Z undergrads, and Stanley cups are very popular. The only 'accessory' I've seen on one was a cutesy silicone daisy to cover the tip of the straw. Where people really start blinging out are their Crocs 🤣
the look on the sponsor part of the video is soo inspiring! i will need a screenshot to recreat. Sometimes its a relief to just copy a look and not overthink what to do today.... thanks angy for being an inspiration.
Hi Angeschka, Love your video's! I would love to see a comparison between the Patrick Ta shimmer shades and indiebrand shimmers. That would be so helpful. Hope you have an amazing day! Mel
also glaminatrix’s nude palette (especially for the shimmer comparison) would be useful - some indie neutral palettes would be great. shimmers are why i don’t bother with palettes because i have so many special shades - but i LOVE huda’s holiday palettes. rose quartz sold out immediately after the news on sephora.
Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman were stop motion holiday specials that were shown once a year in the 70s and 80s. They were also made into cartoons but any of us in our 50s much prefer the stop motion.
Glam shop has so many sparkly neutral singles… the turbo, crystal and ultra pearl shades are mesmerising. Some are a bit flakey, but nothing I can’t get around with primer/spraying the brush - and for under 5€ per eyeshadow, I don’t mind that little extra faff…
Frosty is a classic in the USA. I am almost 60 years old and grew up loving Rudolph and Frosty. Palette isn’t interesting to me but love the idea of the collab.
I think Huda will change to smaller version like 10 or 12 or 16 pans in a palette or some other size. Possibly a different manufacturer... like u mentioned.
Perry Como recorded the song Frosty the Snowman circa 1953. The film Frosty the Snowman came out in 1969. So this dressed up 3 tired snowball has been in the hearts of children and their parents for a long time. Thanks for reminding me to go get the Muse Palette, I have been waiting for it to return. The Mystery Box is selling for $80 USD. I would rather give my money to a small indie brand than a very rich famous MUA who seems to be a bit greedy. Thanks for your code Angie.
The Huda Beauty palette is actually very pretty it's very cool toned but also leans on the neutral side. This might be worth picking up since she isn't releasing another eyeshadow palette 🤷♀️
i know peach is the pantone color of the year and super trendy in makeup, but i wish the peach section was a little different. maybe i just love rose quartz that much. i’m excited for it though!
I’m not mad at the price of the Patrick Ta duos. When I compare to other single shadows like Hourglass it seems similar. Your channel and others like yours have also educated me on how expensive ingredients can be. That being said, it is out of my price range and I wouldn’t suggest anyone opt for PT over others.
the duo that appealed to me the most looks like it has very little sparkle. they shove it to the edge of the screen in marketing shots. i forget the name, but it has the light pink (we need better lighting?) - so disappointed. but you’re right- UD moondust singles are $24+ and too faced sold mid -at-best singles for $30. it’s still too much, especially because sparkly shades are even lower priced in indie shadows vs multichromes. the packaging is probably a lot of it.
Frosty is a classic Christmas cartoon based on the song. It stars a beloved comedian who started his career in vaudeville days, Jimmy Durante. Retro, classic fun! Recommend! (and you may figure out a belly-flop!)
I come from Latvia, but had been living in Sweden for 5 years now, I work full time and I basically never see people with huge water cups. Also, I think the fact that water out of the tap is available everywhere helps, we come to the office and straight away grab a regular glass of water and refill during the day, jumping from one meeting to another. Otherwise, since I commute daily, I just can't imagine carrying so much extra weight for something available as soon as I come anywhere I'm commuting to haha.
Stanley Cups used to be thermoses for people who needed a pot of coffee to last them (hot) an entire day (10-12 hours at work). I'm a couple years older than you, and I remember my father filling one up to go to his manufacturing job. This culture of having a drink to carry w/ them is "new" in the last 15 years in the USA. Not sure if there was something in the upper middle class to upper classes (I was raised working poor), but this need to have a beverage with them/you is new. I pre-ordered the Cosmic Brushes mystery box as a birthday (late by a day) gift to myself. The fig fragrance sounds amazing. I like the idea of it. Fig and Sandalwood are my two favorite scents to wear, I prefer them in a warm spicy fragrance.. so with the bourbon notes this could be lovely.. hrmm..
Thank you for the heads up on Cosmic Brushes. Your link also included your discount! Thank you again for that. Thank you for your updates and always for your sense of humour. It is only coloured pigments after all.
Maybe I'm the odd one out as I have seen people talk about how carrying your drink around is a thing that started happening maybe 10 years ago. But in my experience most people have always carried a drink? Whether it's soda or water or juice. It was always normal to either bring a drink with you when you leave the house or stop by the gas station first thing to grab a drink before you did anything else. Gas stations used to have those big refillable thick plastic cups with the lid and scrunchy straw that had a little cap and people would carry them everywhere. This was the 90s.
Thank you for your behind the scenes perspective of the cost of the Patrick ta shadows! I knew that seamed wack to me and this helped explain why!!! He needs to sit down with his pricing!!!👏🏼👏🏼
I totally agree with you about Huda saying it is the last large palette she will offer. That may really be her intention, however, it is a great marketing ploy to drum up some sales. I, for one, have already ordered it :)
Made my first order to Cosmic Brushes thanks to you! Super excited for it! I'm also loving that small palette from Ensley Reign. May also pick that up!
I mean, the only reason I always have my water with me is because I’m chronically ill. I need to have access to water quickly and often and all that jazz. I don’t own a Stanley, but I do have reusable water bottles.
i’d love to know if this palette was made in Italy and if it contains talc. i think that’s why it’s the last one. the talc ban will also make her change her powders soon enough! talc is still ok in the US, but sephora pushing clean beauty - i see it changing. i also spotted a new powder container on her website. please compare the icy nude to i need a nude!
Stanley is an american well known brand for cups, i am Spanish and moved to Florida 6 months ago, what i realized is that here the distances are so huge! sometimes i had headache for not drinking enough when i was out from home. So i definitely join😂 the drinking cup 🇺🇸 team and bough my Stanley and i love it! i have a lot of water really cold and not headache anymore fully recommended! plus stanley has some beautiful designs that fit my outfit 😎😜
I would LOVE to see you compare the Patrick Ta shadows with Indie shadows. I also think I want to buy a duo on sale, but I would love to see which brand you think are similar or better because I really can’t see myself buying more than one duo at that price point even on sale. I feel like the price point is comparable to Auric for luxury so might as well buy more of those if the formula isn’t blowing us out of the water 👀
Definitely feel the nostalgia related to Frosty but generally don’t feel the need to purchase based on nostalgia. Oh - and the Belly Whopper refers to a scene in the cartoon where Frost slides on his belly with the little girl on his back.
I'm in Aotearoa (new Zealand) and water bottle culture has been a thing since i moved here at 15, I'm 34 now. But we just reused the water bottles you pick up, we'd have them in school and also workplaces, v normal here same as topping them up with taps which are everywhere :)
I’m also excited about the pixi liquid glitter shadows. I still have on left that I use from…cough…the first time around that I still love and pops like nothing else on my eyes. I’m wildly curious to know if these have the same formula and sparkle
When my husband and I went to Europe for the first time (Paris and Amsterdam), we noticed that restaurants would only give you the *tiniest* bit of water. We thought, do Europeans hate hydration? 😄We never thought about our water bottles as an American thing. I never leave home without mine, especially since moving to Colorado - it's so dry here!
18:49 maybe I misunderstood, but Elf Glow Reviver lip oils already exist in the colors “Jam Session” and “Honey Talks”. I used them both this week. 🤷🏻♀️

I think carrying something this huge around is mental tbh, my backpack is heavy enough as it is 😅
PS: extra thought.
The climate plays a big role too. And having good quality water available everywhere for free.
I grabbed the muse pallet and the mystery box 😂 I own all but one of Cosmic Brushes pallets and the all preform so well
I doubt you’ll be disappointed. My Cosmic palettes are excellent quality. I love them.
I love how your makeup matches your outfit!
I have no idea about the Frosty the Snowman movie but that collection is giving me SUCH Christmas feels. It's bloody cute!
I think the Patrick Ta duos are baked gelee shadows. So similar to Pat McGrath OG special shades. I'm not that surprised about the price point.
Pat McGrath has a reputation as a makeup artist and she’s legendary not even she charges this much and he quality is top notch. Patrick ta is not on her level and has had mild issues with his palette. The price is ridiculous
This is what I've been waiting for with Cosmic beauty
I ordered it and another palette I've been wanting to try! I'm so excited!!!!
I think that the Frosty the Snowman collection will be good. Good! It’s a cute color story That seems to match the frosty vibe very well!
You’re not alone girl. I’m a 90s baby and I don’t walk around with a drink. I also carry my snacks in my purse. lol. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Speaking of Glaminatrix I have their Barely Basic eyeshadow palette on my eyes today 😂❤
Patrick Tai has lost his freaking mind 💯
Hi Angelica..I'm an American...for some it's convenient, and we are such a society that's on the go.. all the time.
Hi Angeschka,
Love your video's! I would love to see a comparison between the Patrick Ta shimmer shades and indiebrand shimmers. That would be so helpful.
Hope you have an amazing day!
Mel
also glaminatrix’s nude palette (especially for the shimmer comparison) would be useful - some indie neutral palettes would be great. shimmers are why i don’t bother with palettes because i have so many special shades - but i LOVE huda’s holiday palettes. rose quartz sold out immediately after the news on sephora.
oh you said this in your video! haha!
I think Frosty is worth a watch, it's geared more towards kids and families, but it's really cute
The dress and that eye look are exquisite. 🌻💛
S-tier honestly 🤩
She looks like a happy sunflower, doesn't she?❤
@@michellej5616 perfect description🌻🌻🌻
Frosty is a classic in the USA. I am almost 60 years old and grew up loving Rudolph and Frosty. Palette isn’t interesting to me but love the idea of the collab.
it was a cartoon movie (for angie and other people not from the US/CA)
Yes but don't expect 21st century quality
love those and a christmas without a santa claus! im 28 and this will be my 28th christmas watching them with my dad
I think Huda will change to smaller version like 10 or 12 or 16 pans in a palette or some other size. Possibly a different manufacturer... like u mentioned.
yeah that would be my guess too :)
I have been wanting to watch since it came out this morning but I had an obgyn surgery this morning so I only just got the opportunity to watch before
The Huda Beauty palette is actually very pretty it's very cool toned but also leans on the neutral side. This might be worth picking up since she isn't releasing another eyeshadow palette 🤷♀️
i know peach is the pantone color of the year and super trendy in makeup, but i wish the peach section was a little different. maybe i just love rose quartz that much. i’m excited for it though!
I grabbed the CP Frosty palette yesterday in store and wore it today. It’s a good one.
Love the eye look in the sponsorship. I love yellow and brown. Do you have a tutorial on that look? Have a fabulous weekend
its coming soon :D
Yeah I don't get the sticker shock?! Has everyone been living under a rock or only shopping elf and wet n wild?
Frosty is a classic Christmas cartoon based on the song. It stars a beloved comedian who started his career in vaudeville days, Jimmy Durante. Retro, classic fun! Recommend! (and you may figure out a belly-flop!)
Love the shiry and the eyes
I am pre- diabetic and always thirsty so I never go anywhere with bottles and or thermoses of liquid.❤❤❤😊😊😊
OK. That dress is everything!!
Fig and Sandalwood are my two favorite scents to wear, I prefer them in a warm spicy fragrance.. so with the bourbon notes this could be lovely.. hrmm..
I used to have a 1.5 hour commute to work. I always had a bottle with me.
I decided to jump on the Cosmic Brushes mystery box! Especially as I am in the UK. I love their eyeshadow formula.
Please compare the Huda ice palette to her pretty grunge, ND glam, ND nude, Colourpop precious metals palette
Thank you for the heads up on Cosmic Brushes. Your link also included your discount! Thank you again for that. Thank you for your updates and always for your sense of humour. It is only coloured pigments after all.
I Love all your eye looks in this video so Stunning 😍 please could you do tutorials for all these looks?
Would love to see it ❤
Maybe I'm the odd one out as I have seen people talk about how carrying your drink around is a thing that started happening maybe 10 years ago. This was the 90s.
angie you look AMAZING in this video. i love you in yellows and greens you look like a tropical flower 🤍
I don’t own a Stanley, but I do have reusable water bottles.
i’d love to know if this palette was made in Italy and if it contains talc. i think that’s why it’s the last one. the talc ban will also make her change her powders soon enough! talc is still ok in the US, but sephora pushing clean beauty - i see it changing. i also spotted a new powder container on her website. please compare the icy nude to i need a nude!
this is a PSA!
When i saw the icy nude i immediately thought of that London palette from BH cosmetics, can we please have a take in that?
We do love drinks 😂
The YSL blushes and packaging are super cute! 😍 I agree, I’d love to swatch them if they are available in stores.
I'm in Aotearoa (new Zealand) and water bottle culture has been a thing since i moved here at 15, I'm 34 now. But we just reused the water bottles you pick up, we'd have them in school and also workplaces, v normal here same as topping them up with taps which are everywhere :)
A comparison to Ensley Reigns Cold Moon would be good
I’m also excited about the pixi liquid glitter shadows. I still have on left that I use from…cough…the first time around that I still love and pops like nothing else on my eyes. I’m wildly curious to know if these have the same formula and sparkle
I am hoping to get one of these holiday palettes from ABH. Thank you so much for sharing.❤️🙂
When my husband and I went to Europe for the first time (Paris and Amsterdam), we noticed that restaurants would only give you the *tiniest* bit of water. We thought, do Europeans hate hydration? 😄We never thought about our water bottles as an American thing. I never leave home without mine, especially since moving to Colorado - it's so dry here!
in Germany people tend to have water bottles with them, just for practical reasons i think, otherwise you might have to buy sth on the way
It is a very very well known classic Christmas cartoon for kids. You won’t enjoy it as an adult but you may understand it better
Best time of Friday is here 💙💚💙 love your new Selkie dress and makeup, Angie. Have an amazing weekend!
Colorpop! We need a A Miser Brothers' Christmas collab nect year!! I can see it now! One side full of warm firey tones and the other, cool icy tones
18:49 maybe I misunderstood, but Elf Glow Reviver lip oils already exist in the colors “Jam Session” and “Honey Talks”. I used them both this week. 🤷🏻♀️
Frosty the Snowman would definitely be a nostalgic watch
I got the divination palette and I’m loving it! It’s my first “colorful” palette and it’s been so fun to play with!
I would love a review of the huda palette! I am thinking about putting it on my christmas list
Geeeeeesh!!! You look like a BEAUTIFUL princess ❤❤
The Natasha Denona highlighter is giving Petri dish vibes
It’s not ND. It’s Huda Beauty.
@@francipal70oh my bad lol I was so distracted by it!
I'm definitely old I said "Stanley who?"😂😂😂
I kind of need that Fig perfume! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Would you please make a video on your favorite bronzers🙏🤗
This eye look is stunning girl! 🩵💛💚
That dress is so pretty! Love your whole look. Stunning
Germany here... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for cosmic brushes!!!!! Order is out. I'm so excited ❤❤❤
This dress is absolutely stunning!
4 (or more) palettes 4 (or more) looks - I hope sooooo much, that BBB Poison garden will be included 🙏
