      @MrLasveguinhas 6 лет назад +2

      Ok, I haven't watched the movie yet but they make very clear that the movie presents different points of view, so I don't think it's about turning her into a victim, it's more about story telling, as it should be. If people see it in a certain way, it's not the piece's fault, it's more about how people relate to the characters in it untill they actually research the original material. At least, it's what I think from a totally generic point of view.

    This really does point out that many Hollywood people don't realize there are a lot of us out there who don't worship them and would just walk up and say hello if it was a person we had met before. Seems like the crazy, worshiping fans may give the impression that we all feel and act that way. Celebrity has to be a really strange thing. Not something I would wish for.

    I think a lot of folks talking about Tonya not being truthful, and that she was involved or knew all along, are missing the larger point. First, YOU don’t know that she was involved. There isn’t any credible evidence that proves it or they would have found it and charged her since this was a crime, and was investigated as a crime. So we the viewers don’t know for a fact one way or another. The larger point is you feel like she was involved all along because you like most of us where manipulated by the media sensationalizing the story for their own ratings. You believed what they fed you. That is what I think they mean when they say they empathize with Tonya. Innocent until proven guilty. Unless the media decides you being a low life and guilty will sell commercial time. Then look out!

    • @truthof7382
      @truthof7382 6 лет назад

      Bleu Skye I think you aren’t getting the meaning of innocent until proven guilty. You have to be proven guilty in a court of law. Not the court of public opinion. That was the point I was making. I didn’t actual say what I thought about her guilt or innocence. I wouldn’t chose based on the media or a movie.

    • @truthof7382
      @truthof7382 6 лет назад +1

      Well look, my comments where about someone being proven guilty in the media versus the actual law. I’m not defending Tonya Harding because it doesn’t matter now. I guess I’ll just assume the FBI missed that “boatload” of evidence you are referring to.

    • @truthof7382
      @truthof7382 6 лет назад +4

      Vincent, thanks for the link. I went there and read the article. But you are actually making my point for me. They said she pled guilty to hindering an investigation. Which means that they believe she knew about it afterward and didn't tell. If they had real evidence that she new before or was involved, she would had been charged with conspiracy. My original point was that they didn't have any actual evidence that she was in on it or she would have been charged, but that didn't keep the press, and then ultimately the public, from convicting her of something that law enforcement couldn't convict her of. They didn't have the evidence for a conviction.

    • @truthof7382
      @truthof7382 6 лет назад +1

      Vincent Cuttolo Vincent, yes I read the article, but unlike you, I don’t make wielding unfounded assumptions to fill in gaps. But don’t worry, your a typical citizen of the US who thinks the show “survivor” is real because they saw it on TV. Like your assumption that tonya was so “overwhelmingly” guilty of conspiracy to commit an assault, but I guess they just decided to plea bargain and let her off with hindering an investigation. How nice of the FBI. Everything, and I mean everything you saw or read was written based on someone’s opinion of what took place. And it would be a boring story if the only thing they could write was, ” she may have been involved for the start, but we can’t prove it.” Not much of a story. They need a lot more speculation theory’s and connecting of dots to pull in naive suckers like you. Bet you would change your story real fast if it was your neck or a family members neck on the block for something. You would be the one yelling “innocent until proven guilty”. But then again maybe your right, according to you, you just have to plea it down to a minor offense with the FBI. Regardless of the “overwhelming” evidence they have. They do that all the time right? ...You should probably go back to CNN or the internet to get your latest set of “facts”. Or better yet, I think wheel of fortune is starting.

    • @truthof7382
      @truthof7382 6 лет назад

      Vincent Cuttolo Lol first Vincent, I live in NJ where I was born. I’m a republican on my town council. I ride the train into NYC every weekday to work. Oh and I’m 53; so I too lived through it. Talk about assumptions. You are just full of them. Just because I feel most Americans have turned into sheep, that just believe what they are fed, doesn’t mean I am from somewhere else. So now I can dispense with the whole first half of your comments which was obviously meant to pronounce your superiority, and to condescend to me because you thought I was from elsewhere. Sorry to burst your prejudice bubble there.
      It’s you who doesn’t get it. The old phrase applies to you, “ you don’t know what you don’t know”. It would be incredibly scary to think that an assault charges would be plea down to obstruction of justice on a regular basis, so you are full of it on that one. They didn’t need her to convict the others, they had confessed. You are so hell bent on the “evidence” on that stupid link you sent me, so let’s address some of it. First, the writer of the article believes she was guilty of assault. It’s obvious from the tone of the article from the start, the writer uses phrases like “she planned the attack”. I don’t see any evidence of her planning the attack on that page. I see what is a “supposed” to be the partial statement of the, admittedly guilty parties and the family members of the parties. These are people who are drowning and are grasping for straws. If that even is part of their statement, it is possible they where told by the FBI that if they could give up Tonya, the Judge may go easy on them. And this is the part that you just can’t grasp, the envelope looks bad give what happened in the overall, but what the FBI know, and you are just unable to grasp is that the envelope, while looking bad is not evidence of a crime. There are many reasons that information could have been written down. Sure some of them bad, but some of them not. I had better give you an example, - say you send your friend a text saying “you hate your neighbor, and you wish someone would bump him off. I should do it and get it over with”, because they did something that day that really pissed you off. Your neighbor dies the next day, your friend says holly cow, I’d better go to the police, police read the text, looks really bad, BUT does that mean you did it? Of course not, because the text is not evidence to a crime. The envelope is not evidence of an assault.
      Here is another point, the article is written from one side, the sensational side that claims Tonya was in and planned it. That is the side that brings readers like yourself to the article and then to message boards to make your comments on how “you know” she is guilty. It doesn’t even offer the other side. That would be fair reporting. In good reporting the reporter or writer is not on one side or the other. Had a class on that years ago. It opened my eyes. You should open yours. Ignorance is bliss, until you open your mouth. You claim you have done “extensive reading” on this subject. Reading biased, sensationalized articles, that are really only there to push the commercials or click bate that shows up around the article, or TV shows/movies, and that make money for the creator is not education yourself on the subject. So let’s go back to where I started on my first comment. I don’t know if Tonya was guilty. The FBI doesn’t know if she was guilty because the evidence does not support guilt, only interest. And You don’t KNOW she is guilty. You only think she is because of your biases, assumptions and rush to judgment (just like you did to me in your last comment) on evidence that clearly doesn’t meet the standard for Guilt. I see where your going from you last post. So go ahead and pick apart my typing mistakes, auto spell changes and little picky stuff like that from my post. That’s what people like you usually do when they have nothing more substantial to offer.
      It's funny how you are so proud to be American that you would try to belittle me when you thought I was from another country, but faced with one of the major things that makes the USA different, Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, you cant wait to get the noose out and find a tree.

At the end, I think every peopre remember Tonya, and not the victim that is in a second stage 🤷🏼‍♀️. I think the other side of the history isn’t attractive at all to do a film since her view. Is not interesting enough.
