Love Pendragon, first saw them supporting Solstice in 1983, they also played gigs with Marillion quite a lot. Love their sound.

I simply adore their four album run of The World, The Window of Life, The Masquerade Overture & Not of This World. I have one or two of the ones after those, but they never grabbed me as much as the aforementioned four did. Perhaps I’ll give them another spin, one day in the near future.
Cheers from Queens, Noo Yawk ova heyah.

Likewise. I don't know what possessed them during that span of 10 years, but those four albums are GOD TIER. I cannot stress how much I love those albums, they are all among my favourite albums ever

Oops! I forgot to mention that my favorite tune by Pendragon is “The Voyager,” from their album The World. Nick Barrett’s elongated guitar solo on that song is simply stunning, stellar and sublime. Prog On!

Pendragon is a band unknown to me before watching SoT and have been waiting on the ranking episode. Really looking forward to you and Steven doing that next month. Will listen to this before then but the ranking will help (me but not my wallet) start with the Pendragon catalogue. Thanks as always for the weekly new product episodes, Pete. Looking forward to the others you bring today and catching up on the last two weeks that were missed while away a bit.

Thank you for the upcoming ranking. I look forward to seeing this. Great band, lot of material. That is quite the assignment. I didn't know about them until 'Love Over Fear' - currently #10 on progarchives top albums of 2020. It was a real treat collecting all of their output after getting this album. This directly lead me into IQ, who I became obsessed with. Arena followed after. There is so much great music out there. Just saw Dream Theater with Devin Townsend last weekend. What an incredible show.

Really nice ep from Pendragon. I am waiting for my copy to arrive. Thanks for the presentation. A bit pricey for an EP but as I said great music. The booklet is presented in the same way as Love over fear, glued. Not my preference.

This reminds me of something from Not Of This World, which is my favorite Pendragon album. Really nice (albeit brief) album.

I've never gotten around to listening to these guys, even though my friend has a bunch of their stuff. I may as well start here. The artwork kind of looks like an Ozric Tentacles album to me. Thanks, Pete!

    Some other recent new stuff:
Utopiates/The Sun Also Rises - ALT rock
Motorpsycho - Yay! Not their best but pretty good prog record
Little Feat/Dixie Chicken & Sailin' Shoes Deluxe Edition remasters (with live tracks from '72/'73 added) - really nice!
Ariel Posen/Mile End II - blues rock
Zappa/Funky Nothingness - 1970 Hot Rats session jams & unreleased tracks. Very interesting, lotsa Zappa guitar & even an acoustic track ("Halos And Arrows"). The version of "Chunga's Revenge" is very good
A few 'catchups' from last year:
Karibow/A Tribal Treat - really good prog b and & album
The Lickerish Quartet/Fables From Fearless Heights - good power pop band
Cirkus/Avalanche - very good from these prog vets

Maybe one day consider an "In the Prog Seat" discussion regarding the Magna Carta label?

@@lasercd7851 I think it was around 1987, I was in a store that had a sizable selection of ‘newer’ prog artists on display, which I believe they were all artists on Magna Carta. Each CD had a sticker on them succinctly stating (for fans of X and Y). Each were either for fans of (Genesis and Yes,) or (Yes and King Crimson), or (Gentle Giant and Marillion), or some other combination thereof. But if memory serves, it seemed that each “pairing” was too good to be true. I thought, if this were true, then each band would sound like an amalgamation of all of the above. Something is afoot and this must just be a marketing ploy by this label, which I had never heard of. I don’t recall which two I bought, but I do recall being a bit let down by each… perhaps expecting too much. I think Enchant might have been one of them, and the other was a title by Magellan. I thought I recalled Pendragon being one of their artists, but I just checked their website, and I don’t see them listed. To this day I don’t really know much about Magna Carta, but I presume they must have some great artists on their roster, but have remained gun-shy in experimenting with that labels artists… thus my question about the show.

Is it possible the band chose not to let people listen to the album for free before buying it? That's odd, really. I'm super curious about the release but it doesn't make sense to blindly spend £10 for the digital album before even know if I like it or not...

so hard to listen to their music. No spotify, only a few songs on bandcamp, and even on youtube there's only a few albums.

Genisis were fine after gabriel left, why in in the world would they want or need to sound like pendragon🤔🙄, tho' pendragon are indeed very good!

I liked 4 tracks (out of 4) - so it's a winner! Better than Love Over Fear & Passion. The more I listen to it the better it gets...Maybe the best EP so far this year (🤷‍♂). I honestly don't listen to (my 18 or so) Pendragon albums that much but this is good - better than the more recent Marillion or IQ. The Pendragon album ranking should be good

This is how Genesis could have been after Gabriel, but didn't ... except Steve Hackett. Pendragon are not Genesis though. They are Pendragon. Their last two drummers have been pnenomenal.
