I've never lane split before and it sounds like a great idea, but DAMN, that looks insane. Especially with the people swerving close to your path and the ones zipping over to another lane. A tip of my hat to you sir for doing it, while motovloging non the less, and surviving- Plus you did it with a GOLD WING!

You should ride here in Singapore splitting lanes is fun drivers always gives way to us riders soo no worries of getting sideswiped. You can ride 60-70mph in between cars

This bike has been on my radar for a while now. I like the price point and overall size, power and utility. Saving my pennies!

Just picked one up last week , switched from an Africa Twin DCT. It's a little gem , love it.

The ABS is standard in europe. You'll never get a loud exhaust note from that twin engine but changing the exhaust will improve things a little. It's the trade off for 70+mpg, and bang for buck cb500x is a decent workhorse/tourer/first big bike.

Brian, you are a class act treating the bike like it was yours during break in. Well done!

I am Canadian and just sitting here at the computer, while you were on the 405 lane splitting, was scaring the shit out of me! I cant imagine doing that on a Canadian freeway going into Montreal, Toronto or even Ottawa. I have a 2013 CB500X and Love it!

Riding bikes out there dose look intimidating with all that traffic. I could see how road rage could be a problem from time to time.

according to owners once you get the engine broken it actually gets more peppy and you get more mid-range and low down power

Fun review. Looks like lot's of off road mods available at Rally Raid for this bike. Thanks!

Sky King the rally raid stuff makes it a totally different/better bike from what I've read.

I did a demo ride for this. Smooth as butter and a breeze to ride. It's not sporty, but it is really comfy.

I would be lane-splitting when grandma decides to open the door to dump the last of her lemonade. No thanks. I'll stay in line.

Did you travel any minimal gravel? After so much talk on tarmac I couldn't wait. FYI they are great on gravel roads, just not off road dirt tracks! Is this review in the USA? No offence, but in NZ we could not travel that far without having to turn into a corner. But thank you for the review.

Watching the lane splitting is scary! I guess it looks tighter in the video than in real life :-) Beautiful bike!!

No, it really was that tight lol I didn't really enjoy it but it's simply a must do there.

If all motorcycling was as bad as it is with a pissy little windshield, I'd quit. When I bought my Suzie DL650 with the stock windshield it was like driving along with a woman slapping alternate cheeks continuously. A tall California Scientific replacement cured it. I just bought an '83 naked wing with an aftermarket handlebar windshield and it was as bad as the stock DL650 had been, so I took it off. That was an improvement, but only drove home how spoiled I was from a lifetime of good fairings and tall windshields.

Is it ok to upgrade from a 125cc motorcycle to a 500cc. For commuting to work through the city on a daily.

10:03 to 10:08. Thanks for the inseam info. 5 foot 9 here with the same inseam measurement. I'm cramped every time I get on my rebel 300.
So do you feet cramped at all on this bike? I'm considering it, the nc750x or the ctx700 . I'd like to learn towards this or the nc750x for being able to do light offroading ( say to camp in not so deep woods for example). Thanks for your time. Cheers.

OK. At least you use Tampa math. Thanks for the good review of one of my favorite bikes. Not bad lane splitting either, especially for a guy just giving it a try.

Owned the CB500f , ZERO soul. Very bad bike imo. Expensive for those forks and chasis, the engine is not fun at all, i would rather have a z300/versys300 or an mt03 instead of the honda cb500x/f
