Great video man. I like it when you tell us the dimensions/plans in the video, rather than have to download or look for them in the description. Awesome.
Love this, sent it one of my husbands veteran mates who made some fab wooden storage boxes for me and he loves it and is gonna give it a go. I was wondering have you ever made a small occasional work bench about 16” square that is easy to store when not in use. When needed it can unfold or be legless and hung on the wall somehow to use! Not found anything yet! Needing a occasional work bench we can hang on the outside of the shed or attach legs to. Hope to add various bolts in set spots for attaching a small drill press stored in a corner, or a vice and a small vice which needs to be beside a small water bath (adapted box) to use with a flex tool diamond cutting blade. So that when I’m working with small rocks and gemstones with water I’m not soaking hubby’s shed! Then can easily put everything away after! Very small scale thought about adapting this and heightening it but then realised I need the footprint in the shed to store it, space is a premium! Couldn’t figure how to either do it that it attaches to the shed wall and self supports for use without legs or a way to add legs on! With the bolts recessed ad. Left in situ can be used then for anything! 😊😊
Hi, is cool, I’m not professional carpenter, but is such a good idea, so I will try to make that stool tomorrow. Why not nothing better to do during lockdown.
@@RoamingDreamers By looking at the video again, i would guess- No 8 - 2" or maybe 2 1/2" screws. In Ireland they would be No4 50mm to 65mm. For smaller stock No 8 1 1/4" or No4 30mm.
I'm loving the useful projects! Question ❓ I have a family member that is short and needs a step ladder. But his weight is 450/500 pounds. What wood would you recommend and added stabilizer for it to be useful for him?
Beautiful job, SL! I'm sure I've said this before, but again I LOVE your shop. A guy with your talent deserves it. Hope all's well with you and your family. Best wishes, Don
This is great. I see Ryobi cordless in the background, I've been looking at those. I think I will subscribe and go check out your other videos. Hopefully I will find a Ryobi review. Thank you for sharing!
Now that's neat as well as neatly done, question- if someone wanted to make a cutting board would they do the same process as the stool seat? Inquiring minds want to know 🤔
It would be a similar process but the wood strips would need to be much smaller to prevent warping. I would also suggest using only Hardwoods for durability. Definitely watch some other videos of the process first.
I know this is not a common request, but I don't have a lot in the way of tools... That being said my local hardware store is willing to do some cutting for me on wood I purchase. So, If your willing I would greatly like to have a list of the cuts and supplies needed to do this build.. Please and Thank you!
@@visioneer68 all you need is this video and some basic math to figure out the cuts. This guy made a video showing exactly how to make this. I'd say that's more than sufficiently helpful

Nice utilitarian piece for the shop. It is on my to do list. Thanks for sharing.
This is exactly my style. Function is my favorite thing ❤️
You are a good teacher. I discovered your channel about a month and I keep coming back for ideas and projects. thanks
Awesome and Thank you.
NICE job. I love when things have more than 1 use.
Perfect I'm making this tomorrow. Exactly what I need.
Finished mine today. It's awesome. I made it a little taller because I am 6ft3. Now I just need to clear coat it. Awesome. I love it. Thanks Chris
That's awesome Chris!
how tall were your legs...

Thanks for your video on how to make a workshop stool and ladder. I made one and I like the way it turned out. Simple, easy, and versatile.
That's Awesome!
Thank you ! 👍💞
It's exactly what we needed.
(But really, you don't have to yell like that. Take it easy😉). 🙂

Yep, excellent video, awesome project, just what I was looking for. Thanks!
Great plan, thanks. I love that you showed your mistake.
Nice stool/step stool. That one looks as if it will be around for a long long time.
Oh yes it will. I just had a 300 pound man give it a try and it did not budge.
That is so cool. And speaking for myself and the rest of the vertically challenged population of the world, what a fantastic idea. 😁
Thank you
Just what I need for my space-challenged shop! It will even tuck under an existing bench for storage. Thanks! Subbed!
I’m for sure making this.
Thank you for sharing! Looks very useful and I'll for sure try to build one like this for my workshop!
This is an awesome looking project. It will be a great thing to build with my son. Thanks for making it.
I like it! Gonna build me one of those!
Happy 4th! Be safe, be cool. Beach, NC
Awesome project !
Might add a latch to the seat top so it doesn't open at a bad time.
Good idea
great idea ... adding to the build list... also nod of approval for using Torx screws :D
Oh yeah, I love those screws too.
What size screws did you use?

Thank you, you are too kind. I feel I am still a work in progress and learning more each day. Just hoping to pass the knowledge on to others.
I love it, thank you for sharing this video!
I’m definitely making one of these. A very good video 👍😎🇦🇺
aha made it! love my pocket screws! glue it and screw it! tysm
My first time on your channel... love you’re work
Thank you so much!
Great job. Love it.
This is such a good idea! So cool
Thanks brother, one might come in handy in your shop.
Thats a brilliant idea. I have a small shop so any way a can save space i will. This is a project for this weekend.
Have fun building
Very nice! Everyone could use one of those. Especially if you are short like me.
Thanks, but you're not that short.
Nice and simple...problem I dont own a table saw
Time to get one...😉
Btw. You can do that with a circular hand saw
@@pumpe6884 there is a problem actually safty issue to cut narrow boards...don't know if this is just me but....thanks.
Very nice job👍👍
Love it, thank you
Great idea! Will definitely be making one, thanks!
Kinda like the saw marks on top... to each their own

Nice work my friend....
Nice little project =)
Really loving the videos good job.
Nice work. #STAYSAFE
Thanks
This is very similar to a project in the April 2015 issue of The Family Handyman. Their version is made from 1x lumber.
Very interesting, thanks for letting us know.
Yours probably costs less to build, but requires ripping the 2x4's. Nice little project.
I'm gonna build me one of those, thanks man
What is the max weight on the steps?
How long are the 2x4 s
Excelente video
Could you itemize the material measurements?
Awesome!
Where did you get your mat?
Can I use plywood for the top?
I would use 3/4 if you do
I don't have a miter or a table saw can you make it if all you have is a circular saw?
If you make the top the thickness of a 2x4, then maybe. Ripping with a circular saw is dangerous and hard to do.
This is great Im 13 I want to start my own littel business is this okay if I copy your idea to sell them
Attempted fancy top but cheap bottom. It's not bad but could be nicer
I miss you
Two 2x4s are $14 Canadian right now.
Good like
Why should you not drive pocket screws with an impact driver?
It could strip them
@@SpecificLove7 Thanks! I'll use my drill from now on!
I can stand on the stool

I agree. Just watch closely and rewind if needed. Voila a cut list
What's the length of those 2x4s?
8 feet
@@SpecificLove7 thank you!
Bro the 2x4s now is $9.44 each 😂
Well back in the day...(that started to sound like an old man story) 😁
👌👌👌👌👌💐🙏
It’s a lot more than $6 when you don’t have a table saw 😂

😙👍👀🤝👉🔔
To bad a single 2x4 nowadays costs 6$😟
Hopefully they will go back down in price
Wow, why are you yelling so much?
stop shouting !
