Call of Duty MW2 Translation of Russian Call-Outs

- Here is a video displaying some common Russian call-outs of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. I had a Russian speaker translate files I extracted from the game. I DO NOT own the sound files, they are the property of Infinity Ward and Activision.

As you can tell, I made this video many years ago and now I'm surprised how many views it has received. I would love to continue at some point and do game translations for a variety of games (complete with IPA transcriptions as well) but I'm not sure of the legality of it. Additionally, you never know how youtube will treat your content these days. The grey areas are just as black as night in youtube's eyes.
Dmitri Zaitsev could u do 1 for German ik a little German but still
can you do the germans in cod ww2? I haven’t seen anyone do it yet and you’d be the first one.
Blue hat Turtle I would love to but I haven't bought a COD since Black Ops. Currently I'm teaching abroad so it would be months before I could have the time + resources to tackle it.

The best part about this was shouting out random Russian call outs during class

I really enjoyed the Modern Warfare series. Played it through many times. I actually looked for the airport in MW2 when I landed in Domedodeva airport a few months ago (although I realized that it was the Sheremetyevo International Airport afterwards) :-D

Did you know xbox revived the mw2 servers? Been having fun tbh

The translation is good, but as a Russian speaker I can say that in COD, Russian is spoken with a strong accent (I guess English accent). On the other hand, in all the Battlefields I have played, Russian soldiers would speak so clearly and properly that it makes me envy. )))
So go listen to some BF recordings if you want to hear how it would really sound. ^^
well in modern warfare campagin the spoke good russian without accent
Really? My friends (Moscow region) says the Russian in BF4 and BF3 is spoken with a pretty heavy accent as well. At least two or three voice actors. EDIT: I mean two or three voice actors in BF3/4, not that my friends are voice actors. Just to clarify ;)
Man portuguese has not a single accent in it it is perfect
Strong accent
Others sound like they have balls the size of the moon.
Dunno about Battlefield, but talking about MW and MW2, there are like two kinds of russian there: one with heavy accent and bad pronunciation, and the other one is perfect, literally perfect, like voiced by the native russian speaker.
The best example is the scene in the CoD 4 (MW1), level "Hunted", where Ultranationalist was interrogating local farmer. Terrorist was speaking with terrible russian (understandable, but clearly not even passable) while farmer had excellent speech. Hilarious, isn't it? Especially considering that Ultranationalists should probably be native russians, huh.
And the most funny thing is, these "good" and "bad" russian languages coexist in different cutscenes, and you hear both terrible and terrific callouts in combat. Unique experience for a russian player, such as myself, lol.
thanks i'll use these for my russian vocabulary flashcards..
/setting up Russian callout binds for csgo
Word "Vspishka!" ("Flash!") is actually used to point the direction of enemy fire in case of ambush. For example "Vspishka sprava" ("Flash on the right!") means enemy fire squad set somewhere on the right from current position and everybody better to take cover and retreat from enemy line of sight. But i guess in MW2 this word just refers to flashbang, since he does not mention any direction.

I’m use these during air soft games
Learning what we will soon hear on the eastern front of WW3
Fyi guys, this voice actor is the same guy who voices Minotaur in the 2019 Modern Warfare game.
Irfan Khalis really? That’s fucking dope.
Actually, "brosay granatu" does mean "use your grenade," or more so, "throw a grenade." "brosay" is an "imperative-verb" meaning that it is a command. It should not be confused with "brosayu granatu" which more accurately mean, "throwing a grenade."
1:29 Bro, say stun grenade
Say sike right now
I always thought he was saying "TEN INCH SHTOZHNA"
and wheres "YEEBOYMOEMAGAZINES"?
Funny thing is, I came here for the first voice line. Literally the first one. I was like "how am I ever going to find something, of which I don't know how to spell it, or the meaning or even what it sounds like exactly." And it was the first one. Incredible. Haha
0:43 That always sounded to me like "Enemy extorshinuh".
1:34 it's actually "Cover me, I need to reload"
0:43 A friend of mine always reminds me about how another friend, who kinda had a Butt-head tone, came through the 360 chat mic after a kill saying "got him with my 10-inchtozhena". I wasn't there for that, but I can hear absolutely hear it in my head to this day. lol
Me trying to understand what I’m hearing down the street

Good vid, all trnslations are correct.

Still yelling these to this day when I’m playing with the lads
The Russian alphabet is the strangest thing I have ever seen.
***** нет
Nicolò e il Canale ™ Нет = no
Н is a 'n' sound while the е is a ye sound and the т is a t sound
So it sounds like Nyet
Russian letters for me are way more legible than things like Greek or Thai. Asian languages in general have weird writing.

The cover my ass I’m reloading one. I would hear all the time and think it was cool but I never knew until now. You are a life saver
As a polish man I hear these voices every time i go a little to the east
Brosay Granatu = Toss/throw grenade.
I hope we don't hear this in the following weeks here in the u.s
Want to know a cool stuff? The same phrases can be listened today in Ukraine, at this exact moment, even the sounds from grenade. It's so immersive.
What does Bambi translate to?
i was just looking for bambi in mlg videos and came across this
It means: !بعبّي (Ba’abi): Reloading!

Came here for the last one
These call outs really made MW2 good
TEACHER : we go to a trip in russia
GIRL : OMG so cool ! I will meet drunk Guy
BOY : 1:31
"Bro, Say Granatu!"
MW3 single player, come one, everyone wants it :)
Always thought “cell’ unichtozhena” meant ten inch pee pee
0:40 I can't understand how a person is able to speak that out...
apco47 YO THAT HELPED OUT SO MUCH
Who is here during the invasion of Ukraine trying to prepare
1) ur translation: "use you'r grenade" right translation "throw a grenade"
2) ur: "use you'r stun grenade" right: "throw stun grenade"
3) ur: "cover my ass, i'm reloading" right: "cover me, reloading/i need to reload"
£10 says that a Russian solider has used at least one of these lines in Ukraine
This next one is the one a lot of people get wrong, he's saying 'Cover me, I must reload!' which translates to 'прикрой меня, я должен перезагружать', to say it, it sounds like 'prikroy menya, ya dolzhen perezagruzitʹ'.
Why he say: "brosay stun granatu" if right: "brosay svetoshumovu"
Потому что переводили не коренные русские, да и озвучивали тоже не они, да и это не особо страшно
Times sure were different back then. He legit censored the word “ass” 1:34
Gives there a Soundboard?
1:12 this is heard in many, many games where there are russian baddies (e.g. GTA IV) as well as russians (Stalker)
Perfect Russian without any accent (no)
There was this one that always stuck out that was used in memes that I can't translate, something like "Vlag zhadi eligamufongo!"
Closest I got was something like "Влаг за дхи и лйгемуфонго" which doesn't make any sense really, saying something possibly about moisture? Wtfs
If you could help with that please comrade, I would be grateful
@Sample Channel Thank you :] 👌
1:31 the most iconic one
@SeraphXero
They do speak Brazilian Portuguese.
But whoever put the files screwed up somewhere, because the Militia say things like "changing weapon" when they're reloading, and some pretty nonsense stuff like "showed up out of nowhere" when he throws a flash.
So it'd need three lines: the actual sentence said in Portuguese, the literal translation, and what he really means.
I speak that as a Brazilian myself, so I know what I'm talking about.
Привет (or privyet) means "hi" in Russian. (The r is a rolled r)
1:32
I knew this meant reloading and would say it to my friends on Xbox, still do sometimes and it’s hilarious 😂
Practicing for the russian revolution
What Revolution? You’re too late for it by over 100 years
This would of been helpful if RUclips reccomend me this 9 years ago.
Better late than never
Omg same. I'd be in class and my friend would throw a pencil and shout "GRENADA!"
I just had a cross country race today.
Me and my teammates were screaming this at the other runners during the race.
They got scared of us; resulting in our school getting 2nd place.
Russia FTW
0:30 - 1) "Throwing grenade!" / "Tossing grenade!" / "Throwing frag!" / "Tossing frag!"
0:36 - 2) "Planting C-Four!" / "Deploying C-four!" / "Setting C-Four!"
0:50 - 4) "Enemy down!"
1:04 - 6) "I'm hurt!"
1:24 - 8) "Concussion out!"
You can compare it to other COD games where russians use almost the same phrases. The only thing, soviet soldiers in Black Ops use russian words combined with english.
Note that we, russians, used to say "Svetovaya!" instead of "Vspyshka!" and "Glyshilka!" ("Brosaiyu glyshilku!") instead of "Brosaiyu stun granatu!" or other one - "Shumovaya!" (same as stungrenade).
Also, you can replace collocation "Zaryazhayu C4!" with other one, like "Stavlyu vzryvchatku!" or "Stavlyu zaryad!" ("Zaryad ustanovlen!")
Apparently, these collocations should be in original game, but, unfortunately, you can hear them only in russian version of this game. Though, the original spetsnaz voice is awesome. Even better than revoiced.
Is there any chance anybody could get me the Russian text for these phrases? Thanks.
+Dmitri Tousaint Thank you!
"vspyshka" is like when there is enemy fire somewhere near the squad and they need to get down on cover,"vspyshka sleva" (flash on the left) so like its "we getting shot from left" so logicaly everyone gets down to right side
Such a cool language.
1:35 Or just: "Cover me, I need to reload"
And transcription in word "Derezareditsya" should be just with P, not D, in your language it could be sounded like that: "I need to Deload!"
Learning this incase russia invades
@MasterS00
It's not a mix of both languages, its portuguese, but with an unusual vocabulary - directly translated from english military vocabulary. When they say, for example, "Alvo atingido", directly translated from "Target down".
On a side note, what a coincidence. I myself speak all those three languages (and english, of course) :D
@Alxx96 xD

Modern warfare maps make up russian words that look similar to english words like маркет. Which i assume to be market but in russian a market is called рынок.
I've been trying to find out what the Russians are saying on MW3 survival mode.
Correction in translation and Word Writing :
Brosay Granatu - Throwing Frag
Zarijayu Vrizchatku - Loading
Explosive
Brosaiu stun granatu - Throwing Stun Grenade
Prekroiy menia , Ja doljen Perezariditsia - Cover me , Reloading
It's not "Loading explosive" lmao otherwise it's the voice line that's wrong not the translation.
I'm convinced to believe the original voice actor for the Russian soldiers aren't speaking the Russian that appeals to the actual Russian demographic. They sound completely different when I download the Russian localization in this game.
Sooo I'm going to learn Russian from there.
23.12.2018 and im still a fan of these "Call-outs" xD Whos with me !

I recognize a lot if these callouts from Bad Company 2... The voice actors are different, but at least three of the phrases are exactly the same as callouts frequently heard in BFBC2.
Also, as much as I love COD, they've never really tried with their Russian accents... Even when these guys are speaking in Russian, you can tell the voice actors are American, I don't particularly mind, but the pronunciation sounds a lot more native in other games - particularly Bad Company 2 as mentioned above, and also a lesser known PC game called Red Orchestra 2.
Thanks for the Russian lesson! ^^
Thank you for the translation of the calls comrade
Is it weird that I knew what the sentences meant, without even understanding Russian?
The only Russian words I knew, were "Da"(yes)", "Njet(no)" and "Borshch(which is an Ukrainian/Russian soup, made of beets.)"
Then again, given each situation, each sentence made sense pretty easily.
I think "Prikroyte Menya" is the most russian phrase which is familiar to my ears in Modern Warefare franchise.
0:37 shouldn't it be "zariyazhayu"?

Good vid man, but here’s friendly tip/advice. If your video is as short as it is (two mins) don’t make the intro 30 seconds long. I almost clicked off because of that. And if i knew the outdo was the same length I wouldn’t have watch it honestly. Half your vid if intro/outro. For the future I’d your vid is gonna be about this long shorten the intro/outro to about 5 seconds a piece or 10 seconds all together instead of a minute. You’ll get a lot more subs that way as well as likes and positives comments and a a lot more people staying for the whole vid instead of dipping after about 10 or 15 seconds in the intro.
A suggestion, implement the cyriciloc writing for those whom are learning how to read and write in russian
I would translate "Brosay" as "Throw" because I hear him saying "Бросаю", not "Бросай".
Thank you for the transliteration.
