But why do we even need dedicated signage players, when most modern TV have internet connectivity and computational capabilities by default ? i really don’t get it ? I’m considering Fugo for a medium size supermarket where we plan to setup 12~16 signage screens. Does it means that we should additionally connect each screen to one of your recommended signage players ? If not, what are the reasons we need a dedicated player ? Thanks!
Good question! Some customers find that their smart TV may not have an app store to download the Fugo player app, or their TV may have an outdated OS that won't fully support all of the features of the Fugo player app. Either scenario may make the experience of using Fugo less than ideal on their screens, in which case an external player will come in handy to make things overall more smooth & reliable. But many smart TVs (especially those running Android 9 & up) are compatible with Fugo out of the box & don't require an external player. It really just depends on the model of your smart TV. Btw, if you'd like to chat about this in more detail, feel free to book in a demo with the team! We handle questions like these all the time 🙂 calendly.com/fugo/fugo-digital-signage-software-demo
Hi there! Thanks for your question - it's a good one that we get a lot. The answer is that unfortunately, Apple TV doesn't support WebView, which limits its capabilities significantly. We find that these devices are not the best option for digital signage projects.
