It seems Assassin's Creed has better and more environmental physics while Horizon Zero Dawn looks better graphically and plays better. You gotta admit Horizon Zero Dawn has done very well especially because it's the first time the developers went from first person linear shooters to an open 3rd person world game.
Judging form the video, AC:O has more natural movements... but H:ZD has less.... while moving from teft to right or font to back.. she is twitching and while climbing she doesnt even tocuh the rocks with her hand... i finished AC:O.. but never player H:ZD.. i hope it comes to PC as well.. so i can play it too
A big problem with HZD's visuals is that Aloy is always on screen, and Aloy is disturbingly ugly. Like not just unattractive, but her weird pinched forehead makes her look really unsettling.
hzd on is only more colorful because of region. Egypt is a colorless region, with not very green vegetation and a lot of sand. ACO is muuuch better than HZD, but hzd is still pretty good.

Please do not get triggered by my opinion. HZD has marvelous visuals, and the natural environment knocks the socks off of ACO's dusty landscape. HOWEVER, ACO's environment is almost completely interactive, and it's open world is HUGE. Not to mention that the game has incredible details including setting arrows ablaze just by sticking the arrow into pots of flames. The first game that I have ever played that allowed you to do that, was King Kong on the PS2. Overall, HZD looks amazing, and has great potential, but what good is a good environment if you can't interact with it?

HZD uses a hideous blue haze in some areas, like that city with the elevators has no black shadows, they're all blue and it's fucking ugly. ACO has better draw distance. Sometimes in HZD parts of a structure in the distance will load, but other parts won't, leaving the loaded parts just floating in the air. HZD looks amazing at night with the moon out, while ACO looks meh at night. HZD seems dreamy at night when the moon is out and that makes it's nights look better. HDZ is more fun to play and is less repetitive, though.
Ohhh you can Interact with absolutely bland vegetation and you cannot in HZD while the vegetation and every thing looks better in HZD. And yeah when it comes to interactions HZD has a far more interactable world than AC origins.
As much I love the visuals in Origins, I have to go with Horizon Zero Dawn. The environment visuals in that game is insane. It's a miracle the PS4 can pull it off smoothly. Plus the vegetation, textures and lighting is even better in HZD. HZD is a visual masterpiece, arguably the best looking open world game to date. Try it for yourself if you don't believe me.
I went from Odyssey to HZD. Imagine leaping off a mountain to go splat on the ground after realizing a split second too late that it's Aloy and not Alexios you're controlling. ((Though while we're on the subject, I have this wild crossover theory that Aloy could be Connor's descendant xD))
Yeah i can agree on that definitely,but immersion is more on the graphic,then on some minor interactions ACO has over the Horizon,at least that's my opinion,and i don't even own console,maybe i'm not being objective,because honestly i don't like the look of the Origins at all,it's something about the setting/level design,it just throws me off.

What I like about AC Origins is the way you can hide in plain sight in different ways like haystack, different types of grass and bushes, e.t.c. Meanwhile, the only way to be fully hidden is the one type of grass that sometimes isn’t there for specific mission (I forgot that’s HZD does have another way to hide which is the air vents that appear ONLY for cauldrons; in my book it doesn’t count). I really love both games and I think I like the HZD inventory format because you have more control and it’s more realistic Also I think HZD barely put any focus into the animals which are actually important but they feel like a detail thing instead of a resourceful thing.

Both have its limitation and both have beautiful graphics. There are some details that are realistic to the other. There are some details that lack physics to the other also. Vice versa. But again, both games have stunning visuals.
The video doesn't do justice to the Horizon Zero Dawn. It's a great game and still more fun to play than AC Origins IMO. I really felt myself playing something fresh when I first played it. AC Origins is a great looking game though.

I love both of these games. AC Origins is the best one I've played since AC 2 and Horizon is wonderful in it's own right. Especially the Frozen Wilds. It's like a full length game all by itself.
I’m playing both of them and they’re both beautiful games. The art and graphics are both visually striking and i could spend all day just exploring them
I think animation of trees and grass are better in HZD but Origins wins in the whole graphics, amount of details and gameplay. For example look at him moving trees and bushes when he walks. Plus there are a lot of various places, activities, animals and climbs are much better. On HZD she climb pretty bad.
I just got the PC version for HZD and it looks like they improved a few things as far as interactive environment. Vegetation now moves as you walk through, and footprints are left in the snow. Where HZD excels is the world building. For me, at least, I was really, really drawn into not just the story of the protagonist, but actually an empathizing with her as well. You really feel that lonesome hunter getting to know a strange world vibe. It's one of the best "beautiful but deadly" environments, and everything builds it up. At night, the lights of the mechanicals off in the distance...it's always very foreboding. With that, the water mechanics are awful, I mean 2010 kind of awful. There's no underwater element at all, with the exception of swimming just beneath the surface for stealth. But the water reactivity and swimming mechanics feel very outdated. The achilles heel in an otherwise incredible game.

AC Origins is one of the games made by Ubisoft with no downgrade IMAO,looks pretty good for a 2017 game especially environment wise.Horizon Zero Dawn looks slightly better for me,depends on taste.But Origins still looks really good considering it has a much bigger map than Horizon Zero Dawn actually.

It's clear that this video was made with the intention to present Assassin Creed as a better game graphically and technically speaking. You have to consider one thing or two: - Guerrila created a complete new franchise (so details you reveal like water, animation, can't be perfect, contrary to Assassin Creed Origins which is the 8, 9 or then iterration of the game, Ubisoft as plenty of time to create all of theses details, Guerrila has to create complete new assets, learn how to make a RPG and so on). - Guerrilla was know as a fps videomaker, the transition to RPG is a new challenge for them, so they had to create or change the DECIMA engine to do so, and that in mind, you can't expect them to reach the same amount of detail and quality for a first game. - Horizon core mechanic is to provide a gameplay that allow players to switch really fast between the short and long distance gameplay. They focus on that, and this game did it really well. So don't ask a game to be better in terms of climbing animations than a title that creat a franchise arround this particular mecanic, it's not fair and not honest. If you want to make a good horizon vs Assassin creed origins video, you have to show all kind of animation present in the game, the transitions, and so on and present the technical beavior or details to be equal in treatment.

The moving through the grass part was a little off. In ACO the player test it against high grass and HZD they test on low grass. Both games do the same thing. The high grass responds to the character while the low grass doesn't. The red colored high grass in HZD moves while Aloy is in it

HDZ Does a good job at hiding most of the background details making everything close look great. The problem is it barely looks open world at times versus AC you can see miles into the distance.
in horizon you can even see ants are busy collecting leafs and ascending and descending trees. rains can cause small pools of waters to appear. also you failed to showcase the tall grass and how it behave when you walks inside them. robots can destroy huge ass rocks and wooden houses. small trees can be mowed down if your mounted robot is the charge type, giant robots can cut trees of all sorts. aloy can actually react to been wet too, and can react to the weather. it's not very affective and so hilarious when happen but you can even pick up rocks from the ground and throw them to hit enemies, sometimes it can damage them. and just to point it out, I don't need to be a fanboy of only one game of these two, I have a ps4 and can play both. decided to not get Origin, not the kind of a person to support micro transaction and loot boxes.
there is no microtransactions in ac origins you buy the loot boxes with in game mony and they are really unnecessary since you get tons of loot by just playing the game you should really get it's a lot of fun.
inFAMOUSnews texture quality, lighting (especially with hdr), ambient occlusion, foliage density etc. are miles ahead of ac origins. Look at the ground in the first 2 clips of the video. There's a huge difference. Edit: or look at the ground at 0:57, textures are soupy as fuck in ac origins compared to horizon. It sure is a pretty game, especially the draw distances are incredible, but it's not even close to horizons visuals.
MrTwerklover it doesn't. Pc version doesn't offer major differences, texture quality is the same, draw distance is almost the same etc. It's just a little bit sharper, that's it. Horizon is in another league than any open world game.

All open worlds not GTA and TW3 can feel empty, but HZD doesn't feel empty at all. And AC Origins doesn't feel empty either. But I will say AC origins feels lifeless. I can't say that about HZD.

Both are good in their own ways, horizon was my first ever ps4 game and i love the gameplay/graphics/story of it as well as destroying huge ass machines and taming them to your own, a lot of destruction as well, assassin's creed has a lot of details and things you could do, how you can explore egypt and learn about it, even watch the npc's do their own thing, so i like both like i said, same goes for uncharted/wticher 3 etc

I have no axe to grind as I own both consoles but Horizon looks richer in colour and not so saturated as Origins when in hdr. It's took me a while to get used to Origins in hdr on my X as it looked a bit washed out and when I turned hdr off the colour was very vibrant and kind of looked like the witcher, that Old game look and as good as hdr is, it does add a level of realisim that in many ways is less pretty. Just watched the comparison through and it's a win for lush looks for Horizon all the way but when I'm playing Origins I feel it has a real wow factor. It's just graphical lush vs graphical realisim and both are brilliant

What I like about AC Origins is the way you can hide in plain sight in different ways like haystack, different types of grass and bushes, e.t.c. Meanwhile, the only way to be fully hidden is the one type of grass that sometimes isn’t there for specific mission (I forgot that’s HZD does have another way to hide which is the air vents that appear ONLY for cauldrons; in my book it doesn’t count).
I really love both games and I think I like the HZD inventory format because you have more control and it’s more realistic
Also I think HZD barely put any focus into the animals which are actually important but they feel like a detail thing instead of a resourceful thing.

Both have its limitation and both have beautiful graphics. There are some details that are realistic to the other. There are some details that lack physics to the other also. Vice versa. But again, both games have stunning visuals.

I love both of these games. AC Origins is the best one I've played since AC 2 and Horizon is wonderful in it's own right. Especially the Frozen Wilds. It's like a full length game all by itself.

I think animation of trees and grass are better in HZD but Origins wins in the whole graphics, amount of details and gameplay. For example look at him moving trees and bushes when he walks. Plus there are a lot of various places, activities, animals and climbs are much better. On HZD she climb pretty bad.

I just got the PC version for HZD and it looks like they improved a few things as far as interactive environment. Vegetation now moves as you walk through, and footprints are left in the snow.
Where HZD excels is the world building. For me, at least, I was really, really drawn into not just the story of the protagonist, but actually an empathizing with her as well. You really feel that lonesome hunter getting to know a strange world vibe. It's one of the best "beautiful but deadly" environments, and everything builds it up. At night, the lights of the mechanicals off in the distance...it's always very foreboding.
With that, the water mechanics are awful, I mean 2010 kind of awful. There's no underwater element at all, with the exception of swimming just beneath the surface for stealth. But the water reactivity and swimming mechanics feel very outdated. The achilles heel in an otherwise incredible game.

AC Origins is one of the games made by Ubisoft with no downgrade IMAO,looks pretty good for a 2017 game especially environment wise.Horizon Zero Dawn looks slightly better for me,depends on taste.But Origins still looks really good considering it has a much bigger map than Horizon Zero Dawn actually.

It's clear that this video was made with the intention to present Assassin Creed as a better game graphically and technically speaking.
You have to consider one thing or two:
- Guerrila created a complete new franchise (so details you reveal like water, animation, can't be perfect, contrary to Assassin Creed Origins which is the 8, 9 or then iterration of the game, Ubisoft as plenty of time to create all of theses details, Guerrila has to create complete new assets, learn how to make a RPG and so on).
- Guerrilla was know as a fps videomaker, the transition to RPG is a new challenge for them, so they had to create or change the DECIMA engine to do so, and that in mind, you can't expect them to reach the same amount of detail and quality for a first game.
- Horizon core mechanic is to provide a gameplay that allow players to switch really fast between the short and long distance gameplay. They focus on that, and this game did it really well. So don't ask a game to be better in terms of climbing animations than a title that creat a franchise arround this particular mecanic, it's not fair and not honest.
If you want to make a good horizon vs Assassin creed origins video, you have to show all kind of animation present in the game, the transitions, and so on and present the technical beavior or details to be equal in treatment.

The moving through the grass part was a little off. In ACO the player test it against high grass and HZD they test on low grass. Both games do the same thing. The high grass responds to the character while the low grass doesn't. The red colored high grass in HZD moves while Aloy is in it

HDZ Does a good job at hiding most of the background details making everything close look great. The problem is it barely looks open world at times versus AC you can see miles into the distance.
in horizon you can even see ants are busy collecting leafs and ascending and descending trees.
rains can cause small pools of waters to appear.
also you failed to showcase the tall grass and how it behave when you walks inside them.
robots can destroy huge ass rocks and wooden houses.
small trees can be mowed down if your mounted robot is the charge type, giant robots can cut trees of all sorts.
aloy can actually react to been wet too, and can react to the weather.
it's not very affective and so hilarious when happen but you can even pick up rocks from the ground and throw them to hit enemies, sometimes it can damage them.
and just to point it out, I don't need to be a fanboy of only one game of these two, I have a ps4 and can play both. decided to not get Origin, not the kind of a person to support micro transaction and loot boxes.
there is no microtransactions in ac origins you buy the loot boxes with in game mony and they are really unnecessary since you get tons of loot by just playing the game

inFAMOUSnews texture quality, lighting (especially with hdr), ambient occlusion, foliage density etc. are miles ahead of ac origins. Look at the ground in the first 2 clips of the video. There's a huge difference.
Edit: or look at the ground at 0:57, textures are soupy as fuck in ac origins compared to horizon. It sure is a pretty game, especially the draw distances are incredible, but it's not even close to horizons visuals.

All open worlds not GTA and TW3 can feel empty, but HZD doesn't feel empty at all. And AC Origins doesn't feel empty either.
But I will say AC origins feels lifeless. I can't say that about HZD.

Both are good in their own ways, horizon was my first ever ps4 game and i love the gameplay/graphics/story of it as well as destroying huge ass machines and taming them to your own, a lot of destruction as well, assassin's creed has a lot of details and things you could do, how you can explore egypt and learn about it, even watch the npc's do their own thing, so i like both like i said, same goes for uncharted/wticher 3 etc

I have no axe to grind as I own both consoles but Horizon looks richer in colour and not so saturated as Origins when in hdr. It's took me a while to get used to Origins in hdr on my X as it looked a bit washed out and when I turned hdr off the colour was very vibrant and kind of looked like the witcher, that Old game look and as good as hdr is, it does add a level of realisim that in many ways is less pretty. Just watched the comparison through and it's a win for lush looks for Horizon all the way but when I'm playing Origins I feel it has a real wow factor. It's just graphical lush vs graphical realisim and both are brilliant
