This is a very helpful video to new players and definitely always shuffle your opponents library and if they refuse CALL A JUDGE to do it. I just want to add you're also missing the main way people actually cheat in magic and the most common type of cheating is when they get the final cut/shuffle of the deck, it's similar to the way you'd jump a card to the top to stack yours but someone handling your deck can do the same to you and cause you to flood or mana screw you. There's also many instances of this happening at large events.

Yeah that's true! I made the video off the top so I definitely didn't cover everything. I'll do a follow up though👍

@@MaybeRocks I've played SO many tournaments and FNM's, there is almost a cheater of some sort every 3rd or 4th player it's so bad. At the Alara block regionals, my opponent had played 3 board wipes and need his last one to win, after shuffling from a fetchland, i saw his card on top never moved and before i could reach across to cut he drew his card for turn. Then claimed I was cheating by wanting to return the card he put in his hand back on top and cut the deck.
I called judge, he had us restart the match.
Still ended up winning with my jund dragon ramp against his fairies. Lavalanche for 8 then swing in with 2 broodmate dragons and dragon broodmother. 🤘
Moral of the story, just keep an eye out and when in doubt, ask to cut, or let it be known before even beginning that every shuffle, you want to cut.

@@Elmarias777 good to know. Looking back on it, even some championships may have had cheaters involved. At least those I’ve watched in the past.

Can you unsleeve your opponents deck, and shuffle the bare cards?

What do you do if it looks like your opponent is drawing extra cards with sleezy sleeves?

Very useful video, especially for new players who may not be familiar with this kind of stuff. Have someone who's been playing card games for a long time I've seen it all, I think it would be good to make a video discussing some more niche ways of cheating like how people Mark cards, use slightly different color sleeves that are mostly unnoticeable, and sleight of hand. I think it's just a good way to use your platform and to help people who aren't as knowledgeable on games be able to catch these things

If someone took my deck and shuffled it like you did in your example I would make sure I bend every last one of there cards😏and politely give it back to them. Opponents who do that to your cards or poke them hard with there fingers are greatly damaging your cards as well as disrespecting you.. Ijs.. There should honestly be a rule where cutting a deck is just that you cut the deck you don’t shuffle.. Also people who constantly knock over the top card of there deck then say oh I looked at the card I have to put it in the bottom is obviously cheating so I tell them no you where going to pull that card anyway leave it on the top of your deck.😀

Shuffling like I do does not damage cards. I've been playing the same deck for 5 years with single sleeves and my cards are still NM. If you suck at shuffling, you will actually damage the cards though
