I think Micah made a deal with the O’Driscolls in the mission Blessed Are The Peacemakers because how would that one O’Driscoll know that Arthur would be up that hill, it was also Micah’s idea that Arthur would be up there and the plan of the kidnapping was to capture Dutch and Micah had a news paper article of Dutch wanted. just sayin’ :)
you know if he did take the deal and handed the agent who he wanted and then he was reminded of his crack before handing over 5000 dollars they'd probably laugh about it
Even if he had left with Mary Linton his TB still would've killed him. Maybe not as quickly but in 1899 it was a literal death sentence. There would be no surviving it.

It’s because it says Thomas wasn’t well and he was spluttering blood into Arthur’s mouth and stuff contracting some sort of disease into his bloodstream is the point he is trying to get across
2:34 I know I'm gonna sound like an idiot for saying this, but when you think about it, it was a good thing that Arthur died. Story-wise , basically. Think about it: if Arthur didn't die, then this event wouldn't have driven John to seek redemption for his fallen brother. And since John died in RDR (by the hands of the pinkertons and the armyat his farm), Jack Marston sought redemption for his father and the other gang members (good or bad because they were his family) which led him to be the man he is in the game. So my point is that it was a good reason chapter 6 ended this way, because you have to look at it from a story teller's perspective or else you can't find the right pieces to put together the puzzle.
I think he knew Arthur was a bad man seeing that he would of killed Tommy and would of killed others so he attempts to pull Arthur from the hole he's in
Micah definitely gave arthur to the o’driscolls in that mission, arthur was still too healthy and too close to dutch for micah to even joke about getting rid of arthur. Arthur was also the only one standing in micahs way of controlling the gang through manipulating dutch. If arthur were healthy at the end micah would just have been a stain on arthurs boot soles, if arthur didn’t kill him prior to the cliff fight
1: listening to Strauss 2: letting Micah take control 3: letting Dutches concussion make Dutch turn bad 4: not leaving earlier 5: LETTING DUTCH DO THE FERRY ROBBERY THAT GOT US INTO THIS SITUATION IN THE FIRST PLACE
so the dead pinkertons would call for more pinkertons I'm sure the gang would be able to run away before the government found agent Milton and agent Ross dead
They just got done running away because dutch lost his cool....and the people Aurther gets along with the most at the camp were mad at dutch...so Aurther most likely didn't want the whole camp to have to be on the run again and have those people mad at him for it. Thats probably why he didn't shoot the 2 pinkertons
One of the worst mistakes was that the gang didn't kill agent milton and Ross when they invaded the camp after Jack got kidnapped , the gang was in much more numbers, don't even make sense the gang letting Ross end milton invaded and just left, after milton threat Dutch life , the agents were just 2
Are we gonna talk about that scene were the Pinkertons confront Arthur. Ross says to Jack “Keep Fishing While You Still can” Agent Ross in the end gets killed by Jack which is really interesting considering how inoccent Jack is in that scene

A story DLC changing the events of Arthur would be great. An alternate ending DLC so to speak. Which like John Marston at end of game we could choose between John and Arthur to play in the open world.
Lively vid. Makes me think about the what ifs. I think the biggest mistake was the lawsuit the Pinkertons leveled against Rockstar for use of their name and image in this game. Instead they should have petitioned Rockstar to make a "Pinkerton" videogame. Sort of a game of law enforcement where they operate in the gray to get the culprit. Maybe before RDR2 or after RDR1. Still old west but the Pinkertons are helping to tame the west and curb outlaws. This could be a DLC at the least. A great opportunity missed. Thanks for your work Mr. Boss, keep up the good job.
I don't think Downes is where Arthur gets TB. In my second playthrough I avoided stopped missions and just explored and explored... Arthur began to develop a cough before I ever went to Downes Ranch. This cough began at 36% completion.

A second mistake would be taking the jobs from Strauss. That's how he ended up with TB. Micah had only been around for six months at the beginning of the story; if he really cared about loyalty he should have shown some to Arthur and taken his reservations about Micah seriously.
The very second Arthur contracted Tuberculosis, whatever was to happen after doesn't matter. Whether he was to kill Milton and Ross on the spot, leave Micah in prison, kill Colm O'Driscoll, or run away with Mary in the end the result remains the same, he dies.
Arthur wouldn’t have got it if it wasn’t for Micah because Micah is the one who wanted to do the ferry/Blackwater hiest so if Micah wasn’t there there is a high chance they wouldn’t do it so the gang would not get driven in to the mountains and escape to valintine where downes is so it’s Micah’s fault authur got tuberculosis and died 👌🏻

the world's first antibiotic, penicillin, was discovered in 1928, and the first TB drug, streptomycin was discovered in 1943 so Arthur would of died anyways if he went with Mary Linton as during the time their was no cure and so very few people would of survived. but another mistake regarding morgan and Tb is his great amount of smoking and drinking could triggered tuberculosis which he might had before he collected the debt but he probably got it when doing so and his drinking and smoking isnt suprising in his time
If I am being honest, the only reason Arthur got really weak, is because of Guama in that sea in chapter 4 he looks fine, but in chapter 5 whenever you get to Guama, his face is all purple with tuberculosis
At one point ross has the shotgun shouldered and milton had his hands up.. prefect time to shot but jack is nearby. Its not worth ruining a child's life.
Tuberculosis is still uncurable in 2020. There are now ways to manage it, but they were not available 100 years ago. Arthur would have likely had a very painful and slow death by comparison to how the game ended.
Something that you all missed . When Arthur was tortured by colm the tuberculosis disease had the opportunity to be stronger. He may wasn't t living in the best conditions but it is mainly this. Another thing about Micah is that in the epilogue before finishing the game I saw 2 o Driscoll at valentine drunk. They will insult you and then try to knife you. But my point is that while spoiler I was killing Micah s man when I came to loot one of the last ones and it said o Driscoll. Maybe he did like a pact but he was the only one. Funny enough I think he is the one who stabs Sadie but I am not sure
His only mistake was being the main character of rdr. I feel like the Read Dead games have the same lesson to learn as cyberpunk stories: there is no happy endings. I wouldnt be surprised if(when rockstar makes another) the eventual protagonist of rdr3 dies at the end too
Not sure if you did some research but Running away with Mary was not a big mistake. Arthur would have been in the same situation but worse with no backup to properly support him and Mary. Vaccine for for TB was not developed till 1908-1921. With the vaccine now you needed medication for three months which I am sure they didn’t have in 1899. Running with Mary would have only brought Arthur a small window of happiness.

Like the guy in a bounty said one time “this is the worst mistake you EVER made” the worst mistake Arthur made… well, ALL OF THEM!
Getting shot in the chest when he got captured by the O’ Driscolls and he puts gunpowder and dirty files inside his wounds
Like I’m no doctor but that’s just common sense, that’s like dumping acid over your wounds
Crazy to look a young Ross and baby jack just to only know Jack takes rosses life later on
Tuberculosis is still uncurable in 2020.
Tuberculosis is curable now, but at the time it was an uncurable disease. It was pretty much a death sentence.
Milton and Ross would have probably killed Arthur like Ross used John and then killed him
His only mistake was being the main character of rdr. I feel like the Read Dead games have the same lesson to learn as cyberpunk stories: there is no happy endings. I wouldnt be surprised if(when rockstar makes another) the eventual protagonist of rdr3 dies at the end too
I think in rdr2's original ending Arthur supposed to stay alive that is the only way for Guarma and Arthur's voice lines in Armadillo to make sense
TB was a lot harder to cure back in that time period. The medicine they used back then was different from what we have in modern times.
Worst thing that Arthur did was to die because john sucks.
true even people can't control when they die
*even though
Not dating Charlotte was a mistake too.
Can you imagine how peacefully he could rest by that mountains?
Not sure if you did some research but Running away with Mary was not a big mistake. Arthur would have been in the same situation but worse with no backup to properly support him and Mary. Vaccine for for TB was not developed till 1908-1921. With the vaccine now you needed medication for three months which I am sure they didn’t have in 1899. Running with Mary would have only brought Arthur a small window of happiness.
keep it up ❤❤❤
