Thanks Jerry...I've read several historical accounts of Grant's campaign to take Vicksburg but your video added some details that I had never heard...greatly appreciate your work...now that I am recently retired, in the not too distant future, I plan to visit many of the civil war battle sites (and the surrounding southern towns) and Vicksburg will certainly be on my list.

Pemberton was a man from the North who married a Southern girl and was loyal to the Confederacy because of his belief in State Rights, and in 1865 he was still fighting for the CSA three days after Lee surrendered in the fighting around Salisbury, NC. The Union had around a 7 to 1 advantage in ships during the WBTS and this greatly helped them.

Recording in stereo vs left or right channels would help people with hearing problems.

My mother and father are both from Vicksburg, my uncle Max Don Jacks, Ed Bearss and Warren Grabau found the Cairo using a magnetic compass. They all worked for the Park at that time. After surrendering, Vicksburg did not celebrate the 4th of July again until 1945.

I don't know why Jerry, but most, not all, of your videos the AUDIO only comes out the left side speaker. Sounds ok ,but I don't know why! Thought I would share that!! Take care ~Herb :)
