Hermitcraft season 8 episode 21! We start out Ep 21 of Hermitcraft S8 by building a mega Swaggon rocket to escape the world as the moon gets closer. We make space steampunk spacesuits for Mumbo, Grian, Pearl, Impulse and build the rocket to safe Boatem. I hope you enjoy the wild rocket ride away from Hermitcraft with the Boatem crew and Jellie!

I'm so sad he never got to build his tycoon thing on the clouds. His swaggon thing and the mountain itself was still epic, but it was such a good idea nevertheless
I wonder if he might have decided to save the cloud city idea for next season. With the new world height increase and new mountain generation it could be even more epic than it was going to be. I guess we'll see!

Don’t get me wrong I love all the beaten members and all their antics were hilarious - but I would like to see then go with other hermits, maybe scar can team up with for example bdubs and iskall, or maybe gem, I think it would be fun to change the dynamics. I also hope Zedaph makes his base closer to others and has more collabs, especially with tango!

@@zonozonoify yeah I loved the tegg - it gave the hermits with smaller audiences a chance to have their bases given the true credit they deserve! It was also so nice to see the hermits travelling around on horses and looking at each other’s bases

HC Head Canon that the events of this season has given me:
So, the hermits come from an overpopulated civilization, and they are the team that go out and settle new planets to make room for the population. Each season being a new planet. However, when they landed on the planet for season 8 it all seemed fine until the moon started falling, and they had to escape into the next planet that being season 9.
So basically, what I'm, implying is that they are like space travelers and that would explain things like, why the economy is always the same and why they all always start in the same place. then it would make sense with X being the admin, which would Corialte to him being the captain.
And the hermits were all chosen because they had a specific skill sets that were useful in developing planets and settling them.
This is really interesting to me, I feel like, if this became like the actual lore for hermitcraft, it would make so many things make sense.
( of course I had to comment this on Scars video because he has an incredible way of storytelling)

I guess this could work with Docm's and Ren's video endings where it was revealed that they were all in a simulation. (Note that only Season 8 was a simulation.)

This is by far the most weird and interesting thing that has happened in Hermitcraft (says a lot) and I'm excited, scared, confused, terrified, and having an absolute blast all at the same time. Can't wait to see what's next!!

@@leejohnson333 The Turf War was fun and all, sorta like the Civil War and even the Sahara vs ConCorp thing but the moon literally just obliterated the planet and apparently the entirety of season 8 was just a simulation (watch Doc's video) so uh... I don't know how anything before is topping this 😭😭

The poor villagers that end up having to be stuck and left behind by the hermits. even one of them saying "I can't believe they left us!". The animation at the end makes the season end off with a bang! (Literally)

I'm surprised this season didn't even make a year. Still weirded out by whether this is the end of S8 or not.
It is the end of S8. I feel like they really originally planned to reset chunks outside the continent. But then everyone built their bases and they felt it was not as cool to update to 1.18 on the world, where all the builds were already there and the full potential of the update and freshness of the update couldn't be reached. The timing of the split update was weird and unfortunate for Hermitcraft, but they managed to build an amazing story around it. I'd much rather have them newly explore the whole new world and see main bases on new terrain.

Notice how s6 was about 100 episoded for each hermit, then s7 was much shorter, people only got to like ep 50-80, then s8 most hermits only got 20 episodes
@@teddycat7218 Only reason Season 8 was short was because of the 1.18 update coming out. It changes too much to just update the current world

@@brando3465 That is honestly probably the case. Granted I thought it was just suppose to happen outside the main island and not have the moon crash into the main island.
@@brando3465 the speech in the first episode implied that was the original plan.
I'm not sure if it was technical issues with importing everything and the add-ons or if the hermits just all agreed to change plans between then and now.
I feel like we missed out on the custom space suits… Grian's had a G on the back, and Mumbo's had a mustache… but due to the elytra you can't see anyone elses… I want to know what was on pearl's, scar's and impulse's… (mad props to whomever did them btw, they are super cool)
So Scar is the saviour of Boatem and he even did a fortune of diamonds which he definetely deserved. I love the finale of the whole moon story arc and I am curious what is coming next. But what is coming before, is the moon. And as I typed it under every other video: It is time.

Honestly legendary. I've seen Grian and Mumbos perspectives, but somehow seeing it from Scar's perspective is the best of the three.
And, it's amazing that in the credits when it says "Special Thanks To" the first on the list is Scar's parents. 22:50

I always start with Scar. Then Mumbo and Grian.

I have notifications turned off, the first hermit youtube recommended was Mumbo, followed by Grian, then X, then Scar. Just need to watch False and Impulse and then I'm caught up with those that I follow
I just go with whichever appears first in my subscription feed and work my way through them, like I do with all other videos.
Did anyone else notice that when looking through mumbos helmet you could see the outside? The “Void” was really a block of portals in Botem. That’s really creative.
Everybody talkin about "SpaceX", "NASA" and stuff, but the best way to travel to space is and stays offworldescapes!

I think Element Animations gave us a hint of the next season. Boatem and other parts of the Continent survived in the animation
@@hyplexz2304 I don't think they're using the same world for Season 9. There's a distinct chance it'll be a completely new world using 1.18's world generation. Though it could be a little later whenever the Wilds update comes around but we shall see.

I like how this season went out with a bang as opposed to a whimper like it usually does. Still feels weird how short this season was, but I'm guessing there wasn't much willpower to continue when 1.18 was around the corner with the new terrain generation.
I actually really loved this finale. It was wonderful payoff to all the build-up. Plus, this means we'll probably get an entire new world with new world generation, rather than just new surrounding continents, which would be awesome.
Jeez...Gem,Grian,Xisuma,Cub,Keralis,Scar,Pearl,Mumbo all posted at the same time. How am I gonna choose....
The complete mental overload as I try to figure out what to do when every single hermit uploads at once.... but really it's an easy choice, #scarred4life, and what a finale to such a fun storyline. The rocket design looked super amazin'! Also catdog was the best show ever
i just saw grians video cus that popped up first lol, then this one. Now knowing that the hermits uploaded at the same time, its probably gonna take me a while to finish all of them
You did a fantastic job on the Swaggon enterprise and this series has been a blast. A little sad we didn't get to see the original plan of a Bioshock Infinite inspired city, but the various buildings and (most importantly) the hats well made up for it. The little hats on the light poles are extra adorable, too. Excited to see what you bring to the next season! :D

Hey Scar! Though you may not have gotten to build a mega base like you hoped to, the overall Swaggon builds were really cool! It’s really inspiring how much you were able to get done in just six months with your fluctuating health.
This was the first season of Hermitcraft that I watched from the very beginning, and I loved every moment of it. I really liked the storytelling aspects of it (but if you and the other Hermits decide to not do it again in the future, I understand, especially since this was a more experimental season). Stay healthy, and I can’t wait to see what amazing builds you’ll make next season!
Also, the fact that you took everyone’s diamonds out of their hourglasses just to relocate them to the top of your build is hilarious. XD

I'm kinda wishing they would start the next season in a barren wasteland to keep the lore going! This was the first season of Hermitcraft I have watched, and I'm sad to see it end, but I can't wait for the next one to begin!

ok the amount of thought and logic scar gives in his builds are amazing, his starter base literally has LORE. The rocket had ballons to explain the floating rocket and the explosive was well thought out, Scar just gives so much detail in everything and i just love him for it

Scars credits are my favorite so far, the funny ones other people had were cool, but the genuine appreciation for all of the people who helped make hermitcraft possible is amazing

As funny as the idea of the hermits just leaving behind all their stuff in the rocket while they drop into the void is, since we can't see the rocket in the ending animation that means the rocket did canonically go into the hole somehow. Or was just consumed by the moon.
The animator made the animation before Scar made the rocket. That's the simple answer for its absence in the animation.
Pearl chaining her base to the ground is my fave.

That makes sense to me, I don’t know anything about little spaces but watching Minecraft videos always makes me feel like a kid again. Brings back memories of playing the early versions with my brother a decade ago. Especially since Scars videos have such an upbeat tone. They’re a simple pleasure and watching them has helped me relax and get through an incredibly stressful year. I hope you have a good new year

How is mumbo moving in the void? I know he has those kinds of ticks, to constantly move, but now he's breaking the laws of physics
They aren’t actually in the void, if you look through the transparent part of his helmet you can see the G-train and some buildings in the background

What I love is how you still use blocks like grass etc as scaffolding and also have a story behind each structure.

Exceptional story telling this season from all the hermits!
With the most recent update to Minecraft being as large as it is, to me it makes sense that the hermits have created a story that would allow them to create a new and freshly up-to-date server. But absolute props to all of them for creating a story instead of just being like 'hey new update so say bye to everything we just did for the last few months' instead we as the audience got a full experience.
I could be wrong of course, this may not be the reason MOON BIG. I for one would like to see some of the S8 stories continued a little in the next part of hermitcraft, whether that is in S9 or S8 part 2?
