Madonna's best album, for me. i remember the joy when i got True Blue & nothing comes close to it. I always thought 'Live to tell' is such a special song and an extended mix is an amazing idea! This mix is beautiful but personally, in my opinion, the guitar part starting at 7:18 till 9:22 is really not connected and just ruins it. If it were a long extended mix with basically, pretty much, the original background music extended it would be amazing. For example, the music from 9:32 till 9:54, to me is amazing, if parts like that were extended, slowed, intensified, ect... that could make it a really amazing, extended mix, in my opinion! I myself play a few instruments but I don't make mixes myself, if there's someone who would like to make such a mix I would be really greatful!!
You might be missing something. This instrumental follows the movie. It's a dark movie and represents the many scars that the young kids have. No father, a basterd child, small town, poverty, nowhere to go, no chance to get out. However there's a brief moment in the film where these kids get a chance to just be kids. Get high, drink beers, swim in a lake and as the kids today would say, have zero fucks about anything. The part with the guitars is played during that scene. It's needed and necessary in my opinion to briefly lighten the darkness of the rest of the score. Dark and eery from beginning to end would have just been too much.
