The reason there is so much plastic is this is a Japanese kit. In Japan, recycling is something every school, office, ect does as do most families, and they recycle more types of plastic than we do in America, which becomes anything from kitty litter to table wear. Don't complain about plastic in Asian kits. They recycle it.

This indicates the sheer volume of plastic waste that Japan throws away. Some of which is burned for energy (Something frowned upon by most countries) downside to that? Emissions that are just as bad as fossil fuels. So if pollution is what they are trying to prevent it’s kind of counterintuitive. So yes, they do recycle but looking at the bigger picture they really need to rethink using more eco friendly packaging rather then just putting a band aid on their substantial plastic usage.
