This fool is great I boxed for venom- suicidal coronal last but not lease 818-boxing Muay Thai I wish I knew all this 10 years ago ! Done Muay Thai and boxing I’m in San Fernando ! This guy legit thank u
been kicked there too many times i’m so scared to get a serious injury. looking to compete in mt or mma soon but have seen high level fighters get their lil homie-holders absolutely obliterated even with a groin protector and i heard dj uses a steel cup so here i am🤷🏽♂️
You had me at “lil homie-holders” 🤣 Yes we have been pushing people to use these for a long time. I recorded this vid before DJ came out and said that too. It’s good people are open to it! Go grab one, link is in the description.
I used to have a Venum cup but it broke. I don't recommend those. I have a Diamond one but I am surprised that you say it is not as good as advertised (a lot of pro fighters recommend it). Is the shifting the issue of them because they seem incredibly difficult to break. Would it be better to use the compression shorts with the Diamond cup than the jockstrap for this issue? Also it is good they have the loo bloo groin guard for females. I remember one girl I trained with complaining that there aren't much options for female groin guards so I researched it & found that option for her. A lot of people don't understand a lot of pain & injury can occur to ladies too.
was it a Venum steel cup? If so, how did it break? And yes, the diamond cups shift around way too much. Even if you use the compression one. I just officiated a bout last week and the guy had a diamond cup on.... it didn't help as it should and he even said it was shifting too much. I ask competitors that have issues with it when I officiate. I've worked 1000+ bouts as a referee and I'm telling you, this is from my experience working these fights in Muay Thai & Kickboxing. MMA might be different, I can't speak for them as well but I'd still recommend a steel cup, as I also hear it as benefits for submissions. Yeah having a female groin protector that's not just soft padding like I've seen in the past is good. What's difficult about low blow fouls for females is it has to be like.... kick/knee straight from below for it to be considered a "low blow" in the general rules. So it would benefit women to have something like a loo bloo like you mentioned!
@@Muaythaiventura why do they continue fighting in vale tudo then? Only because it’s legal they can pretend it doesn’t hurt? Also some styles of karate allow it too
@@moescredriver5486 I'm not involved in vale tudo so I can't speak on that. But that's like saying that elbows don't hurt when you get hit in the face by one. It all hurts - just depends on the ruleset you're fighting in and what you've got to deal with. Knees to the groin used to be legal in Muay Thai as well.
Two questions do you think Dj wears a jock strap and puts a steel cup in it ? Instead of the Thai style with the strings and what do you think of the windy steel cup system with the straps ? Would you recommend ?
This is a great question - honestly don't know about DJ... but I'll tell you, the tie on method, it isn't moving. Jock straps move and get messed with during just Muay Thai from knees and throws, I can't imagine during MMA it would be good. I'd recommend against a jockstrap personally.
DIAMOND cups aren't good either - they don't offer the same protection as steel cups. This comes with working as a professional ring official, former pro fighter, and instructor - in the industry for 16+ years. Though, they are better than the regular McDonalds cup - but might as well just bite in and get the Thai Steel Cup! It will save you...
@@Muaythaiventura Diamond cup is really good. Stays in place and absorbs a lot better a hit. There’s no way a knee or kick can make the hard shell of the diamond cup to deform. Steel cups protect good but Diamond cup is really a superior and more advanced product. Steel cups are medieval and can’t absorb much of the hit. Also very unconfortable.
@@MasterBlasta I’ve officiated 1000+ bouts as a referee, not to mention as a coach and fighter, and I’ll respectfully disagree based on what I’ve seen during this time. That’s a lot of volume to see what works and what doesn’t. Not saying you’re wrong but that’s why I made this conclusion.

DIAMOND cups are made of polycarbonate and feel a lot better than thai steel cup. He’s refering to generic sport plastic cups but should try Diamond.
