    Such a low cost instrument and you made it sound like a million dollar production, very cool my friend.

      Thank you. I have learned in the past few years that effects and post processing, audio engineering is half the sound. So for the perfect "listenable" music we need 1) a great performance 2) great effects 3) great audio engineering. Unless the sound of the keyboard is used solo, with zero accompaniment or orchestration, the sound of the mix of instruments is less important. (in this video, there wasn't any of this :) So if recording a solo acoustic guitar, then the quality of sound from that single instrument becomes very important and capturing that one sound becomes a major undertaking because the precise capture of that pristine acoustic sound our brain and ears hear is impossible.

    Great jam! I'm interested in the XW-P1, but I'd like to know if there's any sort of favourite pre-set bank, or a user pre-set bank where I could load the sounds I want to use live, then just click "next" (or use a pedal) whenever I need the next sound. Cheers!

      Thank you. This Casio is out of production, you would have to find a used one. The only option for storing sound is to store each sound in a performance. I think there are 100 slots to save performances. You can also save your step sequences, custom user patches, arpeggios, and phrase sequences. You may wish to have the Roland JunoDS (still in production instead) The Juno has better sounds, a very simple to use pattern sequencer and your layers for patches can be up to 16 (limited by the 128 polyphony). The Juno will also play yours or any sample at CD resolution.

      No sir, Thank you!! I also have a quick question for you; I have the XW-P1 and the Roland DS 61. Both works great for my little projects. Now, I now that I may have acquired the KAS (Keyboard acquisition syndrome) and would like to get the Yamaha MX 61. I have a great offer to get it but would like to know if by any chance is you have tried before and if so, How it does compare to the Casio and Roland that I have?Thanks for your time sir, Have a great day!!!

      I am assuming the Juno DS, this keyboard I came very close to buying, just afraid I was going to be short money that month, and so did not. The Juno DS seems like an amazing keyboard, able to do anything. For the last year I studied the two; JunoDS and MX49, I want one of them. I decided on the Juno because all synth programing could be done on the keyboard, the Juno does not need a computer and software editor to make it work. When listening to sound auditions on RUclips, the consensus is the Yamaha probably has better piano and acoustic instrument sounds, and the Juno has better synths. Feature wise the Juno is way ahead of the MX, with sampling, phrase sequencer and fully editable on the keyboard. I though about eventually owning the two (like you) they probably make a good set for a large bank of 2000 combined sounds.

      Thank you. The tuning was 432hz "A". instead of the common 440hz. The lowering of the tuning by just 8hz moves into the healing realm.

    • @chatter7653
      @chatter7653 7 лет назад

      Just curious, where did you come across information regarding 432hz being a 'healing realm' ?

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  7 лет назад

      It just seems to be a mass agreement on the frequency. I have never heard
      yet of someone who disagrees. Hard to believe everyone is in agreement with
      the 432, but they seem to.

      Hello fellow FMer :) I am still learning this FM programming, lots of cool sounds by accident, but not by direct understanding. Hoping by the end of 2018 I can teach FM though this wonderful little synth..the RefaceDX.

    So beautiful ...mesmerizing composition ...Thank you .How old is Casio I am sorry to ask this questions ,.I am on to buying something it is right for me But I think Casio sound very good ..I have Yamaha and two Casio full size ..I do not have synths I am dreaming about can you give a advise please

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  5 лет назад

      Thank you. The Casio XW-P1 in my studio is 5 years old. The best first synth would be the Roland Gaia SH-01, a polyphonic (plays more than one note) synth with very powerful architecture but can be used simply by a beginner. Plus I have a tutorial series on the Gaia (see my playlists) to teach the Gaia and subtractive synthesis.

    Hi Funnzie, I have been in search for a modeling synth to include in my instruments of content in the classic style. I would often state that although Casio has impressive specs. in this case 4+1 oscillators among other technologies, the organic components of sound generation does not particularly impress me. However at the desired point price of under $500.00 with polyphony, that does not have you menu diving. I had narrowed the list to the Roland SH-201 and the Korg MS2000. My selections all based upon content on RUclips, price of under $500.00 and product reviews.

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  6 лет назад

      Yes, the sound quality of the CasioXWP1 is low compared to almost any other synth. One would purchase a Casio if they wished to have all the features of this synth. Tough to find any synth as feature rich as the XWP1 for the money. The 4 osc. mono synth is good for anyone interested in menu diving. The 6 layer PCM feature is just okay. 8 track step sequencer/programmable arps/phrase sequencer/and 4 zones make this a little monster all by itself. Instead of buying frustrating, problematic old synths, why not buy two Roland Boutique SH-01a's....for an 8 voice hands on synth that can play big chords or be split in 4 voice? I have two Boutiques, the JP08 and the JX03 which have fantastic sound. Roland"s ACB modeling is incredible. So for the top pick of analog modeling has to be the Roland System-8 Plug-Out 8 voice synth. How much do you wish to spend :) ?????I avoid analog synths, have not bought one yet.

    • @bobcatt2294
      @bobcatt2294 6 лет назад

      Thank you for your response. As stated above, the price for this level is $500.00. I am looking at the DeepMind 6. The Roland System 8 is well over $1500.00 - which I will possibly get later. I have the Yamaha MX61 and it has oscillators/LFOs etc, however you can only get to it via software. Yamaha did not want to develop synth access to the hardware because of keeping the cost down. So looking for my first synth for around $500.00 to $600.00. The Casio was a thought until I listened to a number of them on RUclips. I would rather have less technology and superior sound. Again compliments on this video, the best sounding video on the Casio.
      About Boutiques, they are usually with mini keys - which I can not tolerate and cramped. The Roland SH-01 sounds great.

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  6 лет назад

      The MX61 is a good start, you can use this keyboard to control the Roland Boutique modules. There is always the Yamaha Reface CS, a simple synth to work with that has lots of sound potential at $300.00, again controlling from the MX61.

    Would this be a good first synthesizer

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  6 лет назад +2

      I would say no, if you wish to learn how to program a synthesizer, then a synth without the need for menus is the way to go. The easiest way to learn subtractive synthesis is with a "knob per function" synth. Examples of good starter poly synths; Roland Gaia, Korg Minilogue, Behringer Deep Mind, Roland Boutiques JP08, SH01a and JX03 Yamaha REface CS.FM synthesis (not recommended for beginner) Yamaha Reface DX For mono synths; Arturia Micro Brut, Arturia Mini Brut, Korg Monologue, Moog SubPhatty, Roland SE BoutiqueBTW: mono synths can only play one note (key) at a time, poly synths can play more than one note (chords). Number of notes than can be played simultaneously depends on the synth. Lots of good choices today in the $300 to $700 range as listed above.

      sounds like it. I have a wk7600 casio, and it is very fun, but this sounds like a hundred years in the future compared to that one, and I like my 7600 a lot.

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  6 лет назад

      The 7600 is a very feature rich workstation, I own a 7600 too! But the sounds (not the drums) are very weak compared to a Korg MicroArranger or a Yamaha MX49 of similar prices...(noting that neither of these have a full sized 76 note keyboard). AND these are not full featured synthesizer like the list I gave to Chriss, dedicated synthesizers use simple waveforms and a host of controls to make sound, the Casio 7600 uses sampled sounds (recorded from instruments) to make sounds with very limited editing of these sounds.

    Tune your synth to 432 for the cosmic vibration synchronization.

      Yes!! I use this tuning for my healing music videos..see the XWP1 tuned at 432: ruclips.net/video/JFXPjMdcx2w/видео.html

    Strange choice of patches. How long can a human stand that thin reedy, sonically squishy lead patch? Turns out less than 22 seconds. Just the patch, the playing and composition were good.

    • @funnzie
      @funnzie  6 лет назад +4

      Yes, I understand. There are many patches that synth performers use I find very annoying also, it is our nature, our ears, and how our mind hears that delivers sounds that sooth the heart & soul or drive us out of the room.

      @Jason75913 6 лет назад +3

      Or he simply has poor taste. Your performance was great, man, and that lead was fine.
