My Duo 2 is my daily driver for work. My service provider offers anti-virus so I'm planning to use mine until I can't anymore. It's an ESSENTIAL device for what I need with my job and the multitasking for me is bar none. Not sure what I'd ever do without it. Thanks for always checking back in with the Duo fans.

I still use my Duo 2 because it's still the most exciting phone on the market. It's my daily driver. I also have a Fold 3 and I often leave it at home. I realize that it's probably the last phone I buy because how can you go back to 1 screen? I don't care how big it is or how it folds. It doesn't beat 2 screens. When people see my Duo2 they go crazy! Minds are blown and it's always a great conversation. When sales people from mobile phones companies stop me in the mall or the store and try to sell me a phone upgrade, I always say, "You don't have anything better e r than my phone. Trust me." They are always ready to show me the latest whatever until I pull the Duo 2 out with the charging case holding the slim pen. They always say, "What is that?" I BELIEVE THIS IS THE REAL REASON THAT THE DEVICE FAILED. PEOPLE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT IT. I just really wish they continued the Duo. I would definitely buy a 3 day 1. #Duo4Life

Im still married to my Duo 2 for military use and the Remote Desktop app. We use Nautilus Virtual Desktop for a lot of our work, and when I tried a splitscreen, multi-app view on the ZFold, it would always make the Remote Desktop wonky and virtually unusable. Dual screen is simply unmatched on the Duo.

I started looking for something with a bigger screen for productivity and remote desktop on the go. I was running a pixel 6 and started looking for a full windows 11 phone/tablet. I got a duo 1 new for $300. After a week of use I am absolutely astonished at the workhorse the duo is. I cannot believe just how amazing it is for work. I'm going to flash a dual boot onto this beast. I know it's aging but my god for what it does well there is nothing like it. 3 years late to the party but I feel it might be the best work "phone" I've ever had.

That video was just incredible, Shane 🥳 Thank you very much for the shout out ❤ . Would be super cool if you do the other polls 🎉. For me the Duo still is a very worthwhile device. With Android 14 it feels reasonably safe to use, and from a sustainability point of view it would be a shame to dump t it already. My plan is to keep it at least until this fall and reevaluate the situation then

Thanks for the shout-out! I would agree that there is nothing wrong with the Duo 2 until the security updates stop. I'd love to get a zfold, OnePlus open, or even a pixel fold, but as long as the Duo 2 is still viable i don't have a good enough excuse to get anything.

Yea hang on to it, I only bought a Pixel Fold because my fingerprint scanner stopped working on my Duo 2. While I do like the size and shape of the Pixel Fold along with the much better cameras, the multitasking experience is abysmal compared to the Duo, which is why I buy folding phones in the first place. I only decided to keep the Fold with the anticipation that they would roll out App Pairs shortly after launch, but here we are, 7 months later, still no App pairs and no idea of when or if we'll ever get them.

I used the SD1 from May 2022 to December 2023 and I love this device. I've always dreamed of a Surface Phone, and I've lived to see it. When the opportunity arose, I bought the SD2, which is a decent upgrade. Camera better, pen cover, 90hz, faster performance, I'm satisfied. But I honestly prefer SD1 bumpers than SD2 bumpers the grip on first one was way better. However, LOL I still miss the SD1 probably because it could be folded 360 degrees. I will never ever go back to single screen device!. I will be using SD2 until it dies but still have hope for SD3.

Just watched. I still use my Duo as a secondary device but not as phone. It is locked to AT&T and I tried to get it unlocked but failed. I am on another network, but I use it for email, content consumption, taking notes and internet research. Love the dual screen and wish I would have gotten the 256 gig version when I had the chance. My OG Duo has my second SIM in it. It is my ebook reader, my multi-tasking go to device, a fun Nintendo DS emulator and all round productivity device. The other folding devices need an option to default to split screen just like the Duo. Maybe one day.

I just brought the duo 1 in November. It is my secondary phone as my primary phone is the iPhone 15 pro max. I LOVE THIS PHONE. It’s too glitchy to by my primary deceive.
However, I have turned it into a souped up DS. I also use it for school as a mini tablet when I’m on the go. I haven’t tried it yet for kindle but that seems like a great idea.

My Duo 1 is in mint condition. I seldom carry it together with my iPhone SE 3rd Gen - the iPhone is my go-to on-the-go comms device.
I use my iPhone for calls, short Apple Mail, texts, contacts, calendar, Notes, Find My & Air Tags, camera, FaceTime / quick checks of banks & cards, Apple Card & Apple Pay, Reminders, / as well as iCloud, Podcasts, Audible, Apple Music, health portals, and connecting CarPlay (with Maps) on a dash-mounted iPad Mini to the internet via Hotspot.
I use my Surface Duo 1st gen with the Surface Pen for OneNote, drawing. shopping, reading web sites, syncing iCloud & Calendar & Contacts, working with other cloud drives, books, reading user manuals & guides, longer Apple Mail, watching RUclips & Sling, remote terminal emulation, Google apps & maps, games, multitasking, AI, and anything where a bigger or dual screen would make life easier - such as moving stuff between cloud drives.
PS - I preordered a Rabbit R1 and god only knows how _that_ will change usage patterns.🤪

Ooh...how did I miss this? Still daily driving my Surface Duo for the past 2.5 yrs...still amazes and impresses everyone that sees it, and no one has ever heard of it. Still performs great, although I did crack one of the screens about 6 months ago (my bumper only lasted about a year). Just this morning I used a Citrix VDI on one screen while on a Teams chat on the other screen to resolve a work issue while I was traveling and didn't feel like getting the laptop out. Absolutely love it as much or more now than I ever did, and am on the lookout to buy another one due to the cracked screen.

It is still my secondary phone. I don’t use it for calls or messaging, but it’s great for simple multitasking, like having the Outlook calendar and e-mails open at the same time. I also use it for watching RUclips, and it is the best device for reading thanks to the Kindle app. I tried the Z Fold 4 but did not like the form factor at all, so I’ll keep my Duo 2 for as long as it’s working.

missed the poll, but I would still be using my Duo 1 if it didn't take a dive out of the back of my SUV. Back screen is cracked pretty bad and even with a screen protector holding glass in place, i can still feel it moving and crumbs of glass continue to fall out of it. Sure I can split screen on my Fold, but it's just not the same as having 2 separate screens. It does something to your brain (I believe you covered this in an earlier video). I bought my Duo 1 (ATT, Locked) for about $400. I use it daily as a media consumption device instead of a small tablet. The dual screen experience is unbeatable. Makes a great Kindle reader. I have app groups set up to bring up mail (Yahoo & GMail), social media (Facebook & Instagram), shopping (Ebay & Amazon). Tent mode is great for watching RUclips videos. Don't think I could ever go back to a straight tablet. I am still holding out hope for a dual screen tablet device (i.e. WiFi only) that has a bigger form factor ala Surface Neo.

Once the hinge completely gives up, I might go back to one of my partially broken LG V60 phones(have 2, both have cracked rear glass and I have 2 dual screen cases one with a broken hinge, the other still good).
I might consider buying a replacement Surface Duo 2, but might also get a OnePlus Open. I don't really have any interest in the Google Pixel Fold, the bezels while similar to SD2, compared to the OnePlus device are really apparent and feel outdated.

I just painfully switched to the pixel fold from duo 2. Love the fold and it's nice having a usable camera but I truly miss the multitasking of duo. Many of times I watched videos and took notes or notes and a web page. But I couldn't trust my duo, my screen kept blacking out, never knowing if/when it will come back on. The power button died but thankfully the finger print still works, and the top speaker died a long time ago so speaker phone calls only was getting old. I still carry the duo 2, I love it for editing photos, book reading, and a backup if I somehow break the pixel fold. If there is a duo 3 to follow at some point even a folding screen if it still works like duo 2 I'm only for it.

Still carry Duo 1 daily, as my primary mobile device, but I have also never really used the stock launcher and keyboard, which mitigated all of the glitches from day one. Replaced the launcher with a "Windows Phone" style launcher within the first two hours and the stock keyboard within the first week as it did not meet my needs. This all was within the first 30 days of owning it, while it was connected to wi-fi only, before adding a sim and going all in on the device. It still meets all my productivity needs, which is why it was purchased. If it had not lived up to my expectations in that first 30 days on wi-fi, I would have returned it, but it still does everything as intended. It is a shame Microsoft abandoned the project and everyone that purchased a device from them.

I'm contemplating getting a Galaxy S24+ but, man, I will sure hate losing my dual screen.

I primarily use it for retro gaming due to its aspect ratio. But lately I been using it more and more for media consumption and general use.

Not only have I exclusively dailyed my Duo 2 since pretty much day one to this day. A few months back I dropped it and broke the internal gearing to the top hinge. In a panic bought a second one off ebay and completely happy to have it as they did NOT use it and it was only a home device. Had the stock bumpers and a skin on it too.
With the very recent news as phone companies adding ai to new phone and raming ai down your throat weather you like it or not I absolutely WELCOME a second duo 2...

Still daily driving the Duo 2. If I could afford it right now though I would get the OnePlus Open. I dropped my Duo while putting up Christmas lights in December. I now live with a shattered right screen that I have to hold at different angles to see it clearly.

I have one in my drawer. It's a phone I often find myself having an itch for. I'll continue to use it past it's phone lifetime. Surface Duo 1 here.

I am not buying another folding phone until the prices come down. My Surface Duo in Glacier White is still my daily and I use it for work and to make sure it stays secure I have Norton 360 on it to protect it and myself. I tried getting a used Surface Duo and changed my mind and new ones unopened box have been raised to CRAZY inflated prices. I will take the sim out at some point use the Duo as a tablet and I am pretty close to purchasing a Redmagic 9 Pro and pay $649.00 as I paid for my Surface Duo $600.00 so a $49.00 mark up is all I am willing to pay. Oh I forgot I just bought a Lincoln MKS 2011 and it has Microsoft Sync and it works seamlessly with my DUO another reason why I can't separate from my Surface Duo.

I still use my Duo 2 but I don’t use it as a phone as much anymore. I hope Duo comes out with the 3 some day. I got the iPhone 15 pro max and regret that decision waiting for the fold 6 so I can move off this phone.

Mine is in the closet gathering dust. If I had switched to a regular phone then it would remain my home (tablet) device. But the OnePlus Open is doing a reasonable job due to its gesture to select a second app from the launcher. Not as seamless as on Duo's multitasking but good enough for me to leave the Duo in the past.

I didn't even see the poll! I only paid about $350 usd for it in 2023. It is really quirky but useful as a reader and secondary device. I have a dual SIM phone with a better camera.

I hotspot mine with my main phone and use it as an android auto for my old car with vivid car launcher and as an emulator for retro games to play on the go, also an e-reader.
I would also like a video on how to increase my battery life on my duo and what setting to turn off.

duo is still one of my favorite phones I've had. mine fell off my desk while charging and one of the screens starting getting weird discoloring and flickering.
Probably won't buy another as Microsoft seems to be abandon there phones consistently. I was looking forward to the 3 if it wasn't going to be folding screen but since they took too long I went back to iPhone sadly, but I do miss it sometimes.

I love my Surface Duo!. It's my daily and I just got my second one- I dropped the first one. It's amazing. Microsoft should just keep the same form factor(not the duo 2) and just upgrade the specs. Bought both for 234$ each. brand new.

Absolutely the best phone ever. Wish Microsoft can come out with a duo 3 or create a new phone with similar form factor. I've used iPhone 14, Galaxy s23 Ultra and duo 2. While galaxy and iPhone are less cumbersome to use to make phone calls, i prefer use of duo 2 for reading, scrolling, emails and everything else which is what i mostly use any phone for. Most other phones are all the same and boring. I love the width of each screen. Its like having a mini computer that's phone size.

I still use my duo 2 as my daily primary and rate it as the best phone I've ever owned. I still get people asking me about it and enquiring where they can buy one (I tell them they can't). The twin screen format is so useful to have apps ruining side to side and it really is a mini laptop in your pocket. I'm waiting for a duo 3

I'm still using mine, but likely switching to a Samsung soon as the back glass is broken and has poked the back side of the screen resulting in damage, and of course, no replacement parts for the $2000 piece of "premium" equipment that has been buggy and frustrating, still like the concept, but rear glass panels on phones as a concept needs to die, there are many more materials that are far less fragile. The battery on my duo2 is also degrading, as much as I didn't want to admit it, I paid a ton for a half baked prototype.

I would've probably still had my SD1 if it, and the replacement, hadn't snapped at the lower hinge from the plastic housing it's connected to after almost a year and half each due to use, it's so thin there! Finally jumped on the SD2 out of necessity and its much more durable and hell of lot less buggy, still my daily driver!

Still Using Duo 2 as my daily driver. Would have been great if they truly made it an experimental device and tried updating the device with all crazy and wacky ideas. Unfortunately some simple things never improved such as the camera app, Swiftkey never received pen support, seems like some Microsoft apps are made to suit the form factor and most are not, etc
