I know exactly what you mean about ebikes opening up the world. I also have physical limitations due to autoimmune disease that my ebike helps me power through in addition to helping reduce symptoms. Plus, I live in an apartment in a cul-de-sac suburban nightmare void and my bike helps me get around without needing to rely on a car. And it's just plain fun to ride! I wish I'd known about them sooner.
One correction. It’s a 13Ah battery, not 14. Also, I guess it’s a matter of opinion but I am 6’1”, 215 pounds and I have almost 9000 miles on my 500 XR. I don’t usually ride very slow and I think the stock mechanical brakes work great. Yes it’s true that you would probably get a little more stopping power with hydraulic, but these work fine and the 5 Star levers feel great. In fact they almost make the brakes feel like hydraulic brakes to me.
@@theendurance I have my handlebars raised about 8 inches using a stem riser and an adjustable stem. I like to sit up fairly straight and have the handlebars a little closer to me. It would probably work fine for you without even making any modifications but there’s always that option.
Depends upon what you’re looking for. The ST is great for convenience. If you’re shorter or have hip or knee sensitivity they’re the choice for sure. Also, much less strain on shoulders or wrists due to a more upright riding position. The XR is good for the stiff frame. There’s no frame flex or speed wobble. They’re better at higher speeds.

How does the bike fit? I’m 5”11 and I’m wondering if the seat-to-handlebar reach is long enough so that my arms don’t bend

Your water bottle mount is interesting ... how is that attached? I've heard there are no mounts on the frame for a bottle cage
can you take the battery out of the bike to charge?
