@tekken801 Hey man just wanted to let you know I watched this video every night in high school for 3+ years (over 1,000x) and mimicked this so well, I ended up going on to win a few titles and even got to wrestle against ISU with Metcalf in the opposite corner. Just came across it again as I'm coaching the next generation and wanted to let you know. Pretty crazy how much of an impact it had!
We did take home a gold this year. Also this is why you see American wrestlers have a professional career afterwards, because we are in shape. Metcalf took 5th at OTT this year, he's pretty good at Freestyle.
okay medcalf is one off the best colladge wrestlers ever. people start matchs out with 90 percent stamena by the end the oppent has 30 left and medcaf has atleast 70 or 80. he will come at u the hole time off the matchpoint blank he is one off the best ever
its hard to see metcalf losing this year i cant imagine how hard hes training im done argueing over whos better i think metcalf is over all the better wrestler but caldwell just has his number but i wouldnt be suprised to see caldwell move up a weight im a little suprised metcalf isnt
So I just have the one thing to say about the pin that undid Metcalf, his shoulders were on top of caldwells chest. but the ref called it so it was put in the books. I am a die hard Iowa fan but Mecalf got beat hands down by Caldwell during the NCAA's
yea i think he meant by "those funny ear thingys", the headgear wrestlers wear. it's to protect your ears from getting cauliflower ear, plus it is mandatory in collegiate and high school wrestling.
I had a kid from Sayville this year pinned in a cradle and do you know what happend to me? The kid started to scream to get out and guess what? He was. The wrestling population today needs to grow a pair and start wrestling how it should be done. -Gain respect -Walk off the matt feeling like you gave it a hell of a fight -Never give up -Never accept anything less then your goal
@carlkiller15 he does that so the ref will give the guy one escape point and then he tries to pounce on him before he gets back up To get his two takedown points
let me just say that i dont know much about wrestling. at 33 seconds it looks like hes doing a kneebar on the other dude. he even rolled into it like in bjj. does this guy cross train and what is that move called in wrestling?
@st23an dude caldwell is not lazy, just because on the mat hes not pure head on 100% doesnt mean he doesnt work, how do you think you get that fast and the skill to hit moves on the kide that "wrestling is about"
i hate palmer but he knew what he had to do and i think brands knows what metcalf needs to do i personally think he quit moving both times he was in deep on palmer if you watch his semi finals match against palmer last year everytime he was in on a shot he was in constant motion until he got the takedown this time he hesitated and thats what happend
I always think its funny that people bring up the "backflip" to try to prove Caldwell is less of a champion or dirty or something. When in fact it was METCALF who cost his team a point. If a wrestler wants to do backflips the whole match he CAN! no rule against it. There are rules against accessive pushing out of bounds however. Dirty boy Metcalf!
Seems to me that Caldwell beat him pretty good in the NCAA finals. "Phantom Pin", huh...sounds more like a "Loser's Limp" to me! Maybe he shouldn't have gotten in that position to be pinned... It'll be nice to see someone really jack him (and it will happen)...I'm curious to see how he handles it...
umm, he lost 3x in college. at the time of this video he had 2 losses. so idk what this guy was thinking. his first loss was a pin, so idk why the 1 is in quotes.
He's a great wrestler and I like intensity, but he is a bit "dirty". Between the kick to the back of Schlatter's leg after time expired, the forearm grind to Schlatter's head for the sake of it after another match is essentially over, the shot to Caldwell after the finals loss, and then the quote from an address to kids in camp; "I'll punch anyone in the back of the head that turns their back to me" If I had to choose a camp/person I would want my son to learn from, I'd take Cael Sanderson
I thought he gave up in the 2nd period when his head was on the mat so I guess I did see Metcalf attack too bad the match was over already. he should of done that during the match he might of had a chance
im not sure about the demotivator at 4:40. Darrion Caldwell whooped his ass twice. Sure, im a fan of metcalf but he got beat twice by twice. Pinned once and completely cominated the 2nd time in the finals.
@MrChristian1092 hilarious, you don't get out of iowa much do you? He wasn't even the best hawkeye this year as that goes to McD. Truth is caldwell owned your boy
Hey Darthturkey! I wrestled in college and I agree with you almost 100%. Trust me... I wanted to rips peoples heads off! But I have no tolerance for poor sportsmanship. I love what Metcalf does within the "context" of the match. But to take ankle sweeps and throw forearms to the back of the head after the whistle has blown is poor sportsmanship. To not contain your emotions after a win or a loss is part of contributing to the "whining" you mention.
I dont know what is worse....Brent's performance in the Finals, or the music in this video.
Loooooooooool
Dan Gable
Cale Sanderson
and
Brent Metcalf
Best wrestlers by far
This dude was an animal. My son is just getting into wrestling so I have to do my homework. Very fun to watch
he is so good. he is the perfect example of a Hawkeye wrestler. so hard-nosed, doesnt quit.
Ill say, i personally know Brent and when he is on the mat he is a beast but he is a different man off the mat, extremely fun guy and great dad.
great highlight

This is a great hilight video
We did take home a gold this year.
Also this is why you see American wrestlers have a professional career afterwards, because we are in shape.
Metcalf took 5th at OTT this year, he's pretty good at Freestyle.
metcalf is the most dominant wrestler in the world right now, and possibly ever.
okay medcalf is one off the best colladge wrestlers ever. people start matchs out with 90 percent stamena by the end the oppent has 30 left and medcaf has atleast 70 or 80. he will come at u the hole time off the matchpoint blank he is one off the best ever
I watched film when we were fetuses and stopped him from perfect triple 👑 by putting him on his back with his own move 😊the man is a 🐐 goat forever
🐐
Underdogs forever 🎉 coach metcalf team Michigan
Yeah, what a beautiful Syracuse!!
metcalf is the reason i know my leg turk. this kid is a boss!!!!!! then me rephrase. this man is an animal!!!!!!!
its hard to see metcalf losing this year i cant imagine how hard hes training im done argueing over whos better i think metcalf is over all the better wrestler but caldwell just has his number but i wouldnt be suprised to see caldwell move up a weight im a little suprised metcalf isnt
love it! But change the Rock and a Hard place quote to "..seven minutes.." LOVE IT!!
Trent is a God
i know this has nothing to do with anything i was just wondering.... who are they interviewing in the begining?
P.S. great vid! metcalf is a beast!!!!
haha my computer stops to load right as metcalf is grinding shlatter's face into the mat
So I just have the one thing to say about the pin that undid Metcalf, his shoulders were on top of caldwells chest. but the ref called it so it was put in the books. I am a die hard Iowa fan but Mecalf got beat hands down by Caldwell during the NCAA's

the 5 people that dislike this video dont know what wrestling is all about
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't metcalf beat caldwell in a preseason tournament that same year he lost at NCAA?
What song is this? I like it.
What song is this? Its awesome! Want it for training..
I think Schlatter looked better than Metcalf did at Senior Nationals and deserved to win, but Metcalf is unstoppable right now in college.
@Thompsonj840 idk they're cut from the same mold and metcalf wrestled in 3 ncaa finals ironside wrestled in 2
i believe he just avenged that loss
awesome wrestler.
Do you think Metcalf ever scouts anyone? Or does he just stick with his plan consistently?
indeed correct
I had a kid from Sayville this year pinned in a cradle and do you know what happend to me? The kid started to scream to get out and guess what? He was. The wrestling population today needs to grow a pair and start wrestling how it should be done.
-Gain respect

5:15 mile in 7 th grade that's crazy
@carlkiller15 he does that so the ref will give the guy one escape point and then he tries to pounce on him before he gets back up To get his two takedown points
at 1:19 and 1:30 who was he wrestling?
Does anyone know or have a general idea?
did brent metcalf and daniel dennis graduate?
@bigbirdgrappler60 yeah im pretty aware, im actually a college wrestler and have some experience in all styles
it was a national tournement after his senior season thus post season it doesn't go the record
Travis is on the team but he doesent start. He trains with Trent still. And is competeing in lesser tournaments.
let me just say that i dont know much about wrestling. at 33 seconds it looks like hes doing a kneebar on the other dude. he even rolled into it like in bjj. does this guy cross train and what is that move called in wrestling?
@moreisbetter18
Strength is the smallest part, to win that many matches A LOT of skill is needed
@st23an dude caldwell is not lazy, just because on the mat hes not pure head on 100% doesnt mean he doesnt work, how do you think you get that fast and the skill to hit moves on the kide that "wrestling is about"
What's the name of the song?
Thank you.
What about Darion Caldwell? He was a contender.
what's a seirous contender?
where can i find the interview at the beginning?
Is he going to be in the 2016 Olympics?
Phantom pin? is that why the same guy who pinned him beat him in the finals but i guess tackling him after the match makes up for it
where can you get this song
@snowboarder148 I think you're forgetting John Smith...Just saying..
@CruzklokControl well hes souposed to wrestle in the next olympics so i guess he won
Call me up after he wins a couple world titles and strikes some "Gold" in Olympics.
@zjeo2 wrong he lost one to caldwell one to palmer one to bubba jenkins
thats post season i do not think that counts like the regular season does.
Checking oil. It comes in handy
what is the name of this song?
any one know where the inteview is at the beginning?
your wrong..he didnt not pin everymatch this year, nor was his loss in the beast of the east....and there is no shot he is a 4x national champ
i hate palmer but he knew what he had to do and i think brands knows what metcalf needs to do i personally think he quit moving both times he was in deep on palmer if you watch his semi finals match against palmer last year everytime he was in on a shot he was in constant motion until he got the takedown this time he hesitated and thats what happend

@castlemeister haha he sure was.....both are really good wrestlers though
whats the name of this song
lol, Dustin Schlatter. It even says. They pretty much hate eachother, IIRC.
metcalf beat palmer when it mattered and metcalf won more titles then caldwell
yes but senior folkstyle nationals is not a high school tournament
actually he lost 3 times in college 2 to darrion caldwell and one at the big 10 finals in the 2009-2010 season
that pin was horseshit, what was that ref looking at?
amen
Seems to me that Caldwell beat him pretty good in the NCAA finals. "Phantom Pin", huh...sounds more like a "Loser's Limp" to me! Maybe he shouldn't have gotten in that position to be pinned...

oh, I well I stayed up late with homework and a frend sent me the vid, lol so I was kinda tired wen I posted this, lol
I thought he gave up in the 2nd period when his head was on the mat so I guess I did see Metcalf attack too bad the match was over already. he should of done that during the match he might of had a chance
Is there anyone who ever dominated like this ever?
check out his cool little jig dance at 3:04 hahah
What would you do with fifteen seconds left? well you would give up the takedown cause you have a hard-on for Metcalf.
illinois matmen. :]
@snowboarder148 or any of the Smiths
im not sure about the demotivator at 4:40. Darrion Caldwell whooped his ass twice. Sure, im a fan of metcalf but he got beat twice by twice. Pinned once and completely cominated the 2nd time in the finals.
WHAT about Caldwell?
@SiestaBay239 yeah girlfriend we hear ya
2:24 Is one of his losses against Caldwell. It wasn't his pin.
3:49 that was fucking nice
@snowboarder148 What about DC
brent metcalf was in college not that ago. Why tf does the footage look ancient.
Demon- Happy therapy
@snowboarder148 are u serious?! i hope ur solely talking about ncaa wrestling
lol yeah I know, I saw the minute I put it up. I was looking at highschool tape is my excuse
just noticed that the winners of both metcalf schlatter matches has on gold/black asics, while the loser has on gray/black shoes
Thats still not awkward
@MrChristian1092 hilarious, you don't get out of iowa much do you? He wasn't even the best hawkeye this year as that goes to McD. Truth is caldwell owned your boy
He gets pinned at 2:24 by Caldwell
wow....3:03 was just flat out mean....now thats a mental breakdown
caldwell actually beat him twice once on the fluke spladle
@drpepperhas23flavors its awkward because he lost, and became a 2 time national champ instead of 3
he also lost to lance palmer in the big 10's.....I think he forgot to include that.
Lance Palmer, Darion Caldwell.
Made Palmer cry and won more titles than both of em combined
Happy therapy by Demon
