Lance Palmer is one of the best wrestlers I’ve seen to not win an NCAA crown. Sam Hazewinkel and Nick Simmons are two others that come to mind. Some guys always find themselves in the tournament’s toughest brackets year in and year out.
I’m an Ohio state fan but dang osu wrestlers seem not to do the best in the NCAA tournament . Martin, McKenna, NATO, Keshawn Hayes, Teshan Campbell, Micah Jordan, Bo Jordan, Moore, Elijah cleary. Synder is an exception.
It's mostly a program thing. Nolf, Nickal, Cenzo, and even Hall got thrown to their backs. That's because they usually go big. Then again, maybe it's the types of wrestlers. Penn St. currently has a lot of good wrestlers who will never put up major bonus points.
I might seriously be on the road to Alzheimer's. I watched this match with some curiosity - not only forgetting that I'd seen it many years ago, but also not realizing, until the post-match interview that I just watched it earlier this week. Also, what was the deal with Metcalf's time in college? Did he just choose not to stick around for another year, or did he wrestle all four years? I thought he would've had more than 2 titles based on the way they were saying, in the '09 finals, that his only college loss was to Caldwell (up to that point).
What a terrible first question by the interviewer. Was it even a question? Jeez basically making Brent freestyle the interview with nothing to feed off of, literally one minute after wrestling for a national championship. Shame on that dude
I’m glad that NCAA Wrestling is posting these old matches in better quality and including post- match interviews.
It’s interesting to see how different wrestling was
As coach brands said “if my whole wrestling team was Brent metcalf’s, I’d have the easiest job in the world”
Good to see Palmer doing well in life and combat sports.
Is he in the mma world?
Aaron C think so
Aaron C yeah he’s winning 1 million dollar tournaments at pfl
@@wrestlingscience You guys serious? He's probably the best fighter on the PFL's roster.
@@Garrett1240Caldwell tough fighter two both beat him
2 studs.
You wrestled? Didn't expect to see you comment here.
Ole Okie Watson yeah Travis wrestled somewhere in one of the Dakota States if I’m not mistaken.
Back when Iowa had several finalist every year.
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. Dang.
Feel the same way. Metcalf was one of my wrestling idols and role models growing up.
Upload j jaggers vs ryan William's 2010 141lbs please

Metcalf choosing neutral shows super respect for palmer's top game, and jesus christ call stalling in the 3rd
Brent was actually mad about that it was coaches decision
Love the wrestling vids!
Damn dudes got some massive shoulders
He fucked his knee up on that low leg finish right off the bat

steiber is an exception as well
Tyler Deen yea
I mean nato atleast got 1 title though
seongmin yu you are right
Martin upset bo Nickal who was the 1 seed as an 11 seed in the 2016 finals
Mark Bell power podcast brought me here 💪🏾
As someone born in Ohio and an NC State student, I was so proud when Caldwell whooped him.
Did Palmer show up for his second place award?
Hahaha good one 😂
Having seen Zain wrestle and trying to score bonus points makes me not appreciate Metcalf as much as I used too.
This from a Hawks fan
You must not have watched Metcalf then lol. The only reason he didnt pour it on Lance here is because his knee was messed up
@@cannonhall3329 you're high

Zain had easier competition than Metcalf did in his title runs. 2008 149 bracket is considered the toughest of all time and Metcalf won it
Metcalf would destroy Sorenson who beat Zain gmab

Its good stuff......
Palmer should have been in a boy band. Metcalf shouldn't have been teabagged at the trials.
We want more wrestling videos!
Metcalf owns Palmer💪💪
imagine losing due to a coin flip
Palmer lost because he got taken down and never answered with a takedown of his own.
He lost because Metcalf had over a minute of riding time
Damn all Metcalf does is stall he should of been penalized for that palmer won the match
Stalling is a BS call 99.9% of the time.
Palmer literally didn’t do anything on his feet. It’s his fault for not attacking and pushing the issue
He took more shots than Palmer did
Holding the center, handfighting, shooting, pressing forward isnt stalling
its been 10 years and youre still lying to yourself
