I think they’re driveable because they’re turbo. It’s normally big cam N/A cars that struggle.
Dual fuel systems too...this would be almost impossible a few decades ago to run 8s passes and then drive around town like that

Seeing them put the torque tube back in w/o it pained me. I do it even for my major bike parts. You'd be surprised even on a mere bicycle how much vibration tears stuff apart.
They have to tear it apart so often it would just slow them down

@@amalfi460 slow them down? Buy. Big jug so you cn just dip bolts in it. Its easy and would add maybe 5 seconds per bolt. Which would be way less time then them replacing torque tubes the dang track lol

Cletus. I can tell you from experience when you pull in your home shop at the end...you'll never been happier to be home! BUT I promise you you'll want to do it next year by the time it comes around. You'll say the first well of 2 after "never again" but when it passes and you realize how sorted your cars are and watch footage of the memories, it becomes an addiction! I did this with my dad in his '58 Buick (gorgeous car) and I'll never forget it! I'd give anything to do it again! All the chaos and panic when soenthing breaks jsut adds to the adventure and memories you'll tell you kids and grandkids aboutbone day!
Brent is a really good addition to these videos. I could get used to having him all the time ,but that's just wishful thinking.
I'm glad they are both making enough money where the constant trips between Florida and Colorado are possible to happen so often!

Honestly not much editing, Cleetus probably puts the video together in 30 mins tops. All he has to do is clean up the footage a bit and put his intro in the beginning and outro on the exit. And I'm not saying anything negative I'm just saying what it is.

Retired automotive engineer with years of prototype vehicle builds, recommends only snuging-up with your hand or impact driver, then set to spec. if available with a good torque wrench, be sure to index the bolt head with a paint pen or perminate marker when your building. Makes finding and fixing loose fasterners during a good eye-ball around your vehicle easy! Certainly better than the result happening in this video, or worse!
I didn't think you were sopose to use impacked driver when building an engine(at least new aluminum ones)but other than that yes do the same at a certain engine plant I work at
@@michaelsclark Don't use an impact to torque the fasteners, but after hand starting, or very carefully and slowly starting with the impact, run them down until they touch (snug) then torque to spec. Spinning the fasteners with the impact (saving time and wear and tear on your body) isn't the problem, it is running them down tight and being close or over torque that is bad. The milwaukee cordless impacts 12v hex driver and 18v 1/2" big impact both have number 1 settings that are very low torque and simulate running down fasteners by hand. For commercial lighting installations, I use the 12v impact on setting 1 for the stainless allen bolts and machine screws, which are easy to strip or over torque. It is still easy enough to use hand tools to remove them later if the fixtures need maintenance. Marking the heads is a great idea as well, plus the cletus team would know at a glance when a fastener is torqued vs. hand tight when they put the cars together after repairs.
Or, could Cross-Drill / safety-wire like race bikes ... but a right royal pain if you have to remove to access / change anything
